At the same time, as he enters his 10th in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, he has reached life's peaks in so many ways. Advertisement He's in love with fiancee Sarah Jane Ramos. The couple just welcomed their second child, another baby girl, to the world. He tops the NFL in salary at an all-time high $60 million per year, which helps him do things like tear down his $3 million mansion to build something bigger and to donate mountains of money (and his time) to charitable causes. But ... He has yet to reach the pinnacle of the sport. With Prescott approaching his 32nd birthday in the coming months - yes, there will be the annual cake smashed into his face on July 29 once we get to Oxnard and training camp - it is only natural for him to think about the legacy he will leave when his playing career comes to an end. That would of course apply if he was making $600,000 instead of $60 million. He has made it clear that he couldn't care less about his legacy — he wants that ring. Prescott said, "The legacy, whatever comes after I finish playing, will take care of itself. Entering Year 10, time is of the essence for Dak to get that elusive Super Bowl ... in part because of his age but also because his gigantic $240 million contract becomes escapable in two years. But others think the Cowboys will miss the playoffs altogether. So there is no in between. But what would be the best-case scenario for the Cowboys in 2025 with Schottenheimer leading the way? CBS Sports has given their thought. Advertisement We think winning a Super Bowl is the best-case scenario for Dak and Schottenheimer in 2025. Winning a playoff game, although something the franchise hasn't done in three seasons, would be a notable achievement, but fans and media likely don't view that as the best possible outcome for Dallas. A Super Bowl is. But if CBS' scenario plays out, and Dallas does win a playoff game, before being dumped out, that would be a sign of progression and present a good foundation to build from. The Cowboys loom as a team where, right now, it is tough to get a proper read on, and as such, if you offered some fans a playoff win in Schottenheimer's first year, some might take it. Advertisement Why? Well, it would mean Dallas goes toe-to-toe with the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders for a start, and likely wins 10 games. That'll do. But if we are talking true best-case scenario, it isn't the playoff drought that is the pinnacle - it's winning the first Super Bowl in nearly three decades.
