Yogi's ‘Uttam Pradesh' vision gathers pace, 'CM dashboard' drives development, governance
Over the past eight years, the state has witnessed a steady expansion of basic amenities and the upliftment of all sections of society, backed by rigorous monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. The CM Dashboard, which tracks public hearings, welfare schemes, and revenue-related works, provides monthly performance reviews for all districts.
Evaluating 109 programmes from 49 departments on multiple parameters, the platform helps identify top-performing districts and ensures timely, quality execution of development projects. According to the July CM Dashboard report, Bareilly emerged as the top-performing district in overall rankings, followed by Shravasti in second place and Shahjahanpur in third.
Shravasti District Magistrate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi attributed the district's consistent top-five ranking to the CM's vision of quality-driven and timely development. Lalitpur secured fourth place, Hardoi fifth, and Mainpuri, Mathura, Maharajganj, Ambedkarnagar, and Jalaun completed the top ten.
In the law-and-order category, Rampur claimed the top spot, with Kaushambi in second and Shahjahanpur in third. Other districts in the top ten for law and order performance were Gautam Buddha Nagar, Jalaun, Sambhal, Barabanki, Firozabad, Amethi, and Basti.
Officials say the dashboard has become instrumental in fostering a culture of competitive performance among districts, motivating administrations to focus on efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery. The system not only highlights success stories but also flags lagging areas, prompting swift corrective action.
With monthly monitoring ensuring that progress aligns with the Chief Minister's 'Uttam Pradesh' vision, Uttar Pradesh continues to set new benchmarks in governance, bridging gaps in development and strengthening law and order across the state.

The wait ends: Lucknow gets new Metro corridor, will ease traffic in Old City area
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday approved Rs 5,801 crore for a new 11-km corridor of Lucknow Metro, which has been pending for over six years. The East-West Corridor with 12 stations – 7 underground and 5 elevated – will connect Charbagh to Vasant Kunj and cover the most densely populated Old City area of the state Capital. This metro network will not only ease traffic congestion on the narrow roads of the Old City of Lucknow, but will also provide smooth connectivity to places like Chowk and Aminabad and historical tourist destinations such as Bada and Chhota Imambaras, Rumi Darwaza, Clock Tower, and Moosa Bagh. Thanking the Prime Minister for approving the project, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the decision will not only streamline the Capital's traffic system, but also open new avenues for employment, tourism, and investment. 'The project will elevate Lucknow to new heights by expanding its economic, social, and business infrastructure,' he added. The project will be implemented by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC), which is a joint venture of the Union government and the Uttar Pradesh government. The estimated time for completion of the new corridor is five years. Once operational, the new corridor, also called Phase-1B, will extend Lucknow's active Metro network to 34 km, linking key commercial hubs such as Aminabad, Yahiyaganj, Pandeyganj, and Chowk. It will also improve access to major healthcare institutions like King George Medical University and old city areas known for their rich heritage and culinary culture. By easing congestion on the busiest routes of old Lucknow, the Metro will reduce travel time with improved connectivity to the Amausi airport, Charbagh railway station, and bus terminals. The 11.165-km corridor will comprise 4.286 km of elevated and 6.879 km of underground sections. It will integrate with the existing North-South Corridor (Phase 1-A) at Charbagh, which will function as an interchange station, facilitating seamless transfers for commuters between the two corridors. The stations on the new corridor are Charbagh (underground), Gautam Budh Road (underground), Aminabad (underground), Pandeyganj (underground), City Railway Station (underground), Medical Chauraha (underground), Chowk (underground), Thakurganj (elevated), Balaganj (elevated), Sarfarazganj (elevated), Moosabagh (elevated), and Vasant Kunj (elevated). 'This new corridor will strengthen access to Old Lucknow's rich cultural heritage, cuisine, tourism destinations, and employment hubs for those living in newer parts of the city,' said Sushil Kumar, the Managing Director of UPMRC Limited. A senior UPMRC official said the process of floating tenders will begin very soon. 'The UPMRC has already undertaken significant groundwork and compiled essential research data for the corridor,' the official said. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the East-West Corridor was approved by the Uttar Pradesh government in March 2024, while the clearance from the Network Planning was granted on July 9, 2024. It was recommended by the Public Investment Board in May 2025. As of now, the Phase 1-A or North-South Corridor of the Lucknow Metro is operational, connecting the CCS Airport to Munshi Pulia, a distance of 22.87km. The corridor started in 2019 and has a total of 21 stations.

UP Assembly To Work For 24 Hours Straight, Government To Present Vision 2047
Days ahead of Independence Day, the Uttar Pradesh Assembly will set a new record by working for 24 straight hours to discuss the government's vision for the state's development till 2047, a year which will mark 100 years since India attained freedom. The 24-hour work day will begin at 11 am on Wednesday and a roster has been drawn up of ministers to present the vision for their departments one at a time. Officials said the Uttar Pradesh chief secretary held several rounds of meetings to prepare the vision document and all aspects were discussed in detail with the principal secretaries of every department. Inputs were taken from experts as well. Speaking at midnight on Thursday will be Science and Technology minister Anil Kumar followed by Khadi and Village Industries minister Rakesh Sachan. The next set of ministers will start their presentations at 3 am, beginning with Coordination and Labour Minister Anil Rajbhar. The 6 am session will be started by Tourism and Culture Minister Jayveer Singh and the last presentation will be made by junior Education Minister Rajni Tiwari, before the session ends at 11 am on Thursday. On the reasons behind holding a 24-hour session, an official said, "The Yogi Adityanath government wants to send a clear message across the country. The idea is to make it clear that bulldozers and Hindutva are not the only things on the government's agenda and the goal is to have a developed Uttar Pradesh." While Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the Samajwadi Party to be present in the Assembly while the vision document is being presented, the opposition party has decided to boycott it. While Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has termed the 24-hour session "madness", senior party leader Shivpal Yadav said the BJP-led government only knows how to make headlines.

UP govt enhances ambit of old-age pension, vows to cater to over 67 lakh senior citizens
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to enhance the ambit of old-age pension for the senior citizens and has now set a target of providing a monthly pension to more than 67 lakh elderly, in the current financial year 20025-26. The pledge comes after the UP government disbursed old-age pensions for 61 lakh poor senior citizens in the first quarter. In the first quarter of the previous financial year, the Yogi government had met its goal of crediting Rs 1,000 pension directly into the bank accounts of 56 lakh elderly beneficiaries. This year, the Social Welfare Department set a new target of 61 lakh pensioners, which it accomplished. Now, the state government has raised the bar and seeks to cater to 67.50 lakh elderly. The Old Age Pension Scheme is a cornerstone of the Yogi Adityanath government, aimed at making financially vulnerable senior citizens self-reliant and helping them handle financial hardships during later years of their life. Under the Old Age/Farmer Pension scheme, those old-aged people who are 60 years of age or above and whose income from all sources in rural areas is up to Rs 46,080 and in Urban areas Rs 56460, are eligible under the pension scheme. Under this scheme, people 60 years or above are given a pension amount of Rs 1000 per month on a quarterly basis. The reach of the Old Age Pension Scheme has grown steadily since 2018-19, when 40.71 lakh beneficiaries received Rs 1,879 crore. By 2019-20, the number rose to 47.99 lakh (Rs 2,698 crore), and in 2020-21 to 51.24 lakh (Rs 3,694 crore). The upward trend continued with 51.92 lakh (Rs 4,278 crore) in 2021-22, 54.97 lakh (Rs 6,083 crore) in 2022-23, and 55.68 lakh (Rs 6,464 crore) in 2023-24. In 2024-25, 55.99 lakh elderly beneficiaries received pensions. The achievement of this year's target within the first quarter highlights the government's priority towards ensuring both the financial security and self-respect of the elderly. It also reinforces the state government's commitment towards the welfare and dignity of senior citizens. The introduction of the Single Nodal Account (SNA) system has made the pension distribution process fully digital and transparent. Under this system, pension amounts are transferred directly to Aadhaar-linked accounts, eliminating middlemen and ensuring timely, corruption-free disbursement. The SNA system also facilitates faster payments, easier audits, and efficient fund tracking, guaranteeing that every rupee is used for the intended purpose. Since the scheme's launch in 2017, when it covered 37.47 lakh beneficiaries, the reach has nearly doubled, now targeting 67.50 lakh people.
