Apple Music adds lyrics translation and pronunciation features in iOS 26
Apple announced new Apple Music updates at WWDC 2025 with the new iOS 26 update. The company said it is adding a lyrics translation feature to its Apple Music service so you can easily understand the meaning of a song in another language.
This might reduce your visits to Genius.com or such alternative sites.
The company is also adding a pronunciation feature so you can sing a song without uttering gibberish or getting a word or a phrase wrong.
Plus, Apple said it's adding auto-mix to build an endless mix of one song after another based on the previous song. This is possibly a competitor to Spotify's AI DJ feature.
What's more, the company will allow you to pin your favorite artists, albums, or playlists to the top of the library to easily access them.
Users can also use their iPhones as mics for karaoke on tvOS and can control features like song vocals and reverb.

New Pixel 10 Pro Leak Promises Improved Charging
Pixel 9 Pro XL With the upcoming release of the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro families, Google will continue to push Android and the broader mobile ecosystem. A new feature has leaked this week that should ensure Pixel continues to challenge the competition. The team at Android Authority has reported these new features. Crediting marketing materials released to retailers used to prepare for the phone launch, they highlight the addition of new magnetic accessories for the upcoming smartphones. As part of the Qi2 wireless charging standards, devices must utilise magnets to align the charger and receiver. This allows the charging rate to be uprated to 15W, as well as quick and secure attachments. If this sounds a lot like the reimagined MagSafe on the iPhone, you'd be right—Apple successfully submitted this technology to be part of the Qi2 standard. Given that, Apple's MagSafe charger should work with the new Pixel devices, as should the various third-party accessories already targeting the iPhone family. Several Android devices meet all the standards required for Qi2 but do not sport the magnetic connection. While they can still carry the Qi branding, they can't carry the Qi2 branding. Samsung has promoted the Galaxy S25 family as "Qi2 Ready', the addition of a Qi2 charging case and the handsets are ready to join the ecosystem. Thanks to the new listings, it appears that Google will include the Qi2 branding with the Pixel 10 family, one of the biggest Android brands to do so out of the box. Three accessories are on display, all under the title of 'Pixelsnap': a Pixelsnap charger, a Pixelsnap charger with stand, and a Pixelsnap ring stand. Given Qi2 is a standard, other manufacturers' chargers and power-based products should work with the Pixels with no issues, and vice versa. QI2 is also backwards compatible with Qi devices. Google is expected to announce the new Pixel devices on Aug. 20, any new accessories would no doubt be revealed at the same time. Now read more about the Pixel 10 Pro design and the new look coming to consumers in August...

iOS 26 Is About To Save You Money On Your Energy Bill
Apple hasn't given the smart home much love on stage at WWDC 2025 this week, but if you dig a little deeper into the dev sessions you'll find a feature that could actually make a dent in your energy bill. Dubbed EnergyKit, it's coming as part of iOS 26, which will arrive later this year. It's all a bit technical right now, but it points toward eventually turning your Apple Home system into a money-saving energy manager for your house. I say system, rather than app, because it sounds as if Apple is going to allow app developers to bake this tech into their own apps, even if those device types aren't currently supported. EnergyKit is a developer framework lets apps tap into Apple's Home energy data, and things like your rate plan and a forecast of when the grid is running cleaner or cheaper, which it will use to shift when your devices draw power. For example, it could allow your EV charger to schedule itself to run when grid rates are low or solar energy is peaking, or have your smart thermostat pre-cool your house before prices spike. If you're hooked up to PG&E (the first and only energy provider supported so far), your Apple Home app can already show this kind of info, but EnergyKit will supercharge things and open it up to developers to build smarter automations on top. Apple says the framework is aimed at residential use, for things like HVAC systems and EV charging. In a video introducing the new tools, we're told that EnergyKit can provide personalized guidance for when to use electricity based on environmental impact and cost. Apple is actually pretty late to the smart energy party, with platforms like SmartThings and Homey pushing energy optimization for a while now; and devices from the likes of Ecobee, Eve and Tado already doing this kind of thing on their own. But this feels like Apple finally putting down a foundation to make its Home app more than just a pretty interface for turning off your lights. The Cupertino tech giant doesn't actually support energy monitoring or EV chargers natively at the moment, but obviously Matter makes this sort of thing easier. If you're a dev, you can read more technical info on EnergyKit over on the Apple Developer website.

As my colleague reported earlier in the week, Apple's World Wide Developer Conference for 2025 unveiled the company's newest software updates for Apple Watch. The most notable adjustment is Apple's new design, which it calls 'Liquid Glass.' It's inspired by the Vision Pro's translucent software display and brings a glossy coat of paint to the fitness tracking experience that CNN Underscored editors have been recommending for years. There's also a new Workout Buddy feature that channels Apple Intelligence into a smarter workout companion. It's meant to imitate a fitness trainer right on your wrist, offering the kind of motivation you'd expect from any of Apple's on-demand Fitness+ classes, just personalized to your performance. The new design and personalized encouragement tech will be launching later in the year once watchOS 26 officially ships in September. Our senior deals editor, Rikka Altland, spotted the price drop this morning while searching for the best finds of the week.
