RINGS TRUE The reason Kate Middleton has four rings & the meaning behind each jewel in her impressive £400k stack
PRINCESS Kate looked characteristically elegant as she attended Wimbledon this year - but it was her rings that got everyone talking.
The Princess of Wales, 43, wore a grand total of four rings on her wedding finger during her outings at the tennis championship.

As is usual, she wore her gold wedding band and her iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring that used to belong to Princess Diana.
But she also wore a third ring: an eternity ring that has been in her collection for years.
Princess Kate finished off the stack with a gemstone eternity band that she has been wearing frequently over the past year.
Jewellery expert Ella Citron-Thompkins, jewellery expert from Diamonds Factory, said the total stack of four could be worth £400,000 in total.

They explained: "Kate Middleton's four-ring stack is estimated to be worth up to £400,000, with the majority of that value coming from her iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring.
"Alongside it, she wears her Welsh gold wedding band, likely valued between £2,000 and £3,000, as well as the diamond eternity ring gifted to her after Prince George's birth, estimated at around £1,500. Completing the stack is a slim white diamond eternity band, thought to be worth approximately £1,000.
"While the combined cost is significant, much of the value lies in the emotional and historical meaning behind each piece.'
HIDDEN MEANING
The jewellery expert claims that the ring choice was likely to be strategic and thought out.

She told Fabulous: 'Princess of Wales's ring stack is extremely symbolic and carefully curated.
'Her sapphire and diamond engagement ring, once worn by Princess Diana, is naturally the centrepiece, and she pairs it with her classic Welsh gold wedding band, a royal tradition since 1923.
Princess Kate beams as she hands over Wimbledon trophy to women's final winner & then consoles runner-up after thrashing
'Adding a personal touch is her diamond eternity ring, believed to be a gift marking Prince George's birth, and more recently, she's introduced a slim, modern, white diamond eternity band, and a Cartier sapphire-and-diamond eternity ring, potentially signifying a new chapter or milestone.'
Ella claimed that there could be a poignant reason why we've seen a shift in Kate's jewellery choices, following her preventative cancer treatment, and her announcing in January that she was in remission.

The jewellery expert explained: 'Instead of her full ring stack, it seems that at times the Princess opts to wear just her eternity bands.
'Following her recent treatment, it's clear that much has shifted in her life.
'Health challenges often bring a deeper appreciation for comfort and symbolism, especially in jewellery choices.
'It's understandable and admirable that she may want a more low-key approach for casual or everyday appearances.'

Princess Kate attended Wimbledon on Saturday to see the Women's Final, and then was back Sunday for the Men's Final, accompanied by husband Prince William, and eldest kids, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince George, 11.
The royals visited the tennis tournament to watch defending champion Carlos Alcaraz take on world number one Jannik Sinner in the men's singles final today, with Kate set to present the trophy to the winner.
In a poignant clip, Kate was seen speaking to an 11-year-old cancer patient at Wimbledon before he performed the ceremonial coin toss.

Ambrose, who is battling bone cancer and has undergone chemotherapy, emotionally shook hands with Kate – who was diagnosed with the disease last January and also underwent the treatment.

After greeting Ambrose and asking how he was, the boy told Kate about his diagnosis and treatment.
The royal asked: 'How are you finding your treatment?'

The boy said: 'A lot better, I'm on the mend.'
Kate then praised Ambrose, appearing to say: 'It's tough. What a brave boy you've been."
After being told the boy would be doing the coin toss for the final, she added: 'Good luck today. We'll be cheering you on.'
The boy talked with the royals for more than a minute before they moved down the line, before crossing the bridge to a massive cheer from the crowd below.

They also met TV star and explorer Steve Backshall who, after being told by the royals that both kids knew his shows, appeared to joke: "I can only apologise."
The family also met disability sports coach Temi Johnson, who did the coin toss for the men's wheelchair final this morning.
The royals took centre stage at the front row of the Royal Box, surrounded by other famous faces such as actors Nicole Kidman, Andrew Scott, and Matthew McConaughey.
Wills' appearance marks his first back at the All England Club since 2022.

The big row that's rocking Alesha Dixon's relationship with her man of 12 years – just months after they reunited

A month after their split, those close to the couple confirmed they were giving their romance another try LOVE AND WAR The big row that's rocking Alesha Dixon's relationship with her man of 12 years – just months after they reunited ALESHA Dixon reconciled with her partner of 12-years Azuka Ononye back in April after a 'really rocky patch' left their relationship on the brink. But insiders claim the Britain's Got Talent judge's romance has hit another rough patch - and it all boils down to one big question. 6 A 'really rocky patch' left Alesha Dixon and Azuka Ononye's relationship on the brink Credit: Getty 6 The couple, who have two children, reconciled back in April Credit: Getty 6 But insiders claim the Britain's Got Talent judge's romance has hit another rough patch Credit: Handout Those close to Azuka say the choreographer, who has two daughters with Alesha, is struggling to come to terms with Alesha's refusal to marry him - despite him asking multiple times. In recent weeks, pals tell me, the issue has become a recurring argument between them - with Azuka unable to convince Alesha that marriage is the way forward for them. Alesha, 46, was previously married to rapper MC Harvey but their year-long union ended in heartbreak after his affair with singer Javine Hilton. A friend said: 'Azuka wants Alesha to be his wife and thinks marriage is the way forward for them after everything that has happened over the past six months. 'He has proposed but to no avail. 'It's becoming an argument that keeps coming up between them and Azuka is finding it hard to move past it. 'He is a proud man and wants Alesha to be his wife. His parents have said the same and think marriage is the way forward. They've applied some pressure too, which has led to rows between Alesha and Azuka. 'It's been a difficult six months but this feels like another bump in the road they can't get past.' Over a decade ago, Alesha revealed that Azuka had proposed to her multiple times but joked he wasn't serious. Speaking about their relationship on Piers Morgan's Life Stories programme, she said: 'He's asked me about five times but I won't take him seriously. Alesha Dixon SPLITS from father of her two kids after 12 years - but reveals why they're still living together 'He asks me when he's jokey and I won't take him seriously until he does it properly.' Those close to Azuka say he has since proposed properly but that Alesha has stonewalled his attempts. 'Azuka says he can't work out why Alesha won't marry him,' the friend said. 'He thinks this could be the making of them and something that would help them properly move past everything that has happened. 'It's become a bit of a stalemate again. He's leaning on his friends for support but it's difficult for him.' 6 Azuka and Alesha at Ant McPartlin's wedding but the former Mis-Teeq singer seems to be stalling on a marriage to her beau Credit: Splash Alesha previously called Azuka her 'best friend' and said she had found the love of her life in the dancer. But then in November last year, those close to Alesha said she had confided in them that their relationship had run its course. STAR'S BREAK-UP This March Alesha confirmed the pair had split but said they were living together for the sake of their children. A month later, those close to the couple confirmed they were giving their romance another try. A close source said: 'They went through a really rocky patch and decided to call it a day. It had been difficult for a long time and Alesha just couldn't see a way forward. 'AZ even moved out to a hotel for a while, despite the fact they were co-parenting. 'But there is still a huge amount of feeling between them. They've been together for 12 years and have two beautiful children. 'So they have decided to give it one last try. "They both desperately want to be a family again and are going to do all it takes to make it work.' WEDDING CONFLICT At the time, those close to Alesha admitted they 'weren't convinced' their relationship would last. And now Azuka's friends say they feel the same - with the talk of weddings driving a wedge between them. One added: 'Without a wedding on the horizon, Azuka doesn't know what to do. 'He wants Alesha to be his wife but she isn't budging. 'It's another hurdle they've come up against and it seems there isn't a way they can move past it.' Who is Alesha Dixon's partner Azuka Ononye? Azuka Ononye was born December 14, 1980 and is best known for his work as a dancer, creator director and choreographer. He has worked with the likes of Sade, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Duffy, Pixie Lott, Estelle, Ashanti and Cheryl to name a few. Azuka's advertising credits include major brands such as Guinness, Captain Morgan, Nokia, T-Mobile, Specsavers, Superdrug, ESPN, Sky, DFS and Argos and many more. When was the last time anyone cared that a song hit number one?

Thanks to the streaming era, the metrics of old have become irrelevant. But ask the record companies, the streaming platforms, and anyone remaining in the mainstream music industry, and the lingering husk of chart positions and the race to the top is still a major factor in how everything plays out. Read more: Can we move on from thinking pop music is the best thing ever? Today's charts are not any real measure of popularity or success – instead, they now measure which record label has the most sophisticated gaming strategy. Power and influence have been taken from the listener, who once had to be motivated to buy a tangible product, and given over to the levers of the record industry, where they can pretty much make the rules as they like. The Official Charts Company decrees that 100 streams equal one sale, and that 1000 streams equal one album sale. But why these numbers? Besides being plucked from thin air, it is likely the simplest way for a changing industry to enter this new landscape, but it is also impossible to take a numbers game seriously where the rules have had such little thought or weight put behind them. Converting physical and digital purchases into streaming habits and behaviours is just too different and difficult to equate, but record and chart companies are still happy to do it and to be seen as legitimate tallying. The other reason why the record industry still holds onto chart success in a streaming world – it is ridiculously easy to control and manipulate. Some of the manipulation is so blatant that it would make the payola scandals of the 1950s seem quaint. The playbook is depressingly simple. First, secure prime real estate on Spotify's algorithmically generated playlists. This is an important step: major labels now treat playlist placements like medieval lords doling out farmland – so if you're in their stable, you eat; if not, prepare to starve. Then release as many versions of the song as possible. Slow it down, speed it up, remix it ad nauseum. Disguise it as a service to fans while conveniently letting it all consolidate into one chart entry as per the rules. And why not take advantage of the half of the internet that's just bots? In 2024, 49% of all internet traffic was bot traffic, so that is a lot of customers lying in wait. Why should it matter in the game that's been set up if there is a real user at the other end or not? Last year, almost half of internet traffic came from bots (Image: Getty) This week saw heavy suspicion of bot use placed on rapper Travis Scott and his label collective album JackBoys 2. People began to notice that unofficial fan uploads and different songs with the same title were seeing huge listening increases where their official equivalents weren't. It's now assumed that whatever bots were sent to juice the album's numbers were sent on the wrong path, and everyone could see the error in plain sight. Of course, JackBoys 2 is set to debut at number one on the Billboard album chart next week. Even more egregious was in 2020 when Spotify users began to report that their accounts were magically playing the new single from rapper French Montana. Accounts were being hacked left and right to hit play on a single from a flailing rapper dependent on numbers, and all the rapper and his label had to do was deny any involvement. There is a real slimy, nefarious side to this game, and a lot of it has probably not revealed itself to the surface. Read more: Two options for musicians: Struggle to survive or ask your parents Then there are the 'numbers people'. These are dedicated fans of an artist who need their favourite to win no matter what, whether that's Taylor Swift or the many fan armies backing K-pop artists. It doesn't matter how authentic the attention is if the horse being bet on reaches the top. These fans are a record label's dream, setting up mass-streaming campaigns to inflate numbers, and replacing the weathervane of popularity with the gritty competition of sport. The 'numbers people' live in a loophole where outright botting is ostensibly not allowed, but leaving a song on repeat all night with the volume down? Stream away and bolster the illusion. Because, in the end, that's all it is now. The record industry is happy to cling to the current chart system because it provides an illusion of success. But given how irrelevant a number one hit is now, and how little such an achievement makes a dent in our cultural milieu, it seems we all already know the truth.

Because cheering the talented sportsmen on are a bevvy of bikini-loving beauty queens, superstar sportswomen and brainbox business titans. She may well be his lucky charm because the healthcare administrator's support saw him win the PGA Championship and British Open last year. Maya, who married Xander in 2021, admitted she had never watched golf before meeting the US sportsman and has only recently 'gotten the lingo down'. Other big swingers including Brit favourite Rory McIlory, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are also backed by their glamorous and intelligent other halves. From a Maxim Hot 100 stunner to an ex-bodybuilder who became a doctor and a one-hit-wonder singer, we reveal this year's British Open WAGs. Allison Stokke American Rickie Fowler isn't the only sports star in their California home because he's married to Allison Stokke, a record-breaking pole vaulter who's claimed a number of US titles. At one point she was ranked second in the state and nation, but narrowly missed a spot at the London 2012 Olympics. Allison, 36, put her career on hold after meeting Rickie, who she married in 2019 after two years of dating, to have their daughters, Maya and Nellie. Now a sports influencer who has modelled for Nike, GoPro and Athleta, she's still turning heads on the green. Back in 2007 she was described as 'a sex symbol against her will' when a photo of her competing in New York went viral. The furore sparked think pieces in the Washington Post, The New York and Los Angeles Times, and was reported on by the BBC and Australia's Sydney Morning Herald. Allison, later a Maxim Hot 100 star and named Hottest Female Athlete by Men's Health in 2011, said the fetishisation was 'creepy and a little scary', 'really demeaning' and overshadowed her sports career. She's the rumoured girlfriend of Bryson DeChambeau, 31, who she's been linked to since the 2022 LIV Golf Invitational Series when they were snapped snuggling up in a golf cart. Michigan-born Lilia, 22, who's just finished her second year at Marian University in Indianapolis, has an impressive social media following. She has nearly 60,000 followers on Instagram and 150,000 on TikTok, lured by her golf coaching videos and streams of stunning bikini shots. 'I used to be very insecure and hate my body so I decided to do something about it,' she captioned one scantily-clad snap. Paige, 32, has featured in Sports Illustrated, was named Maxim's 'Sexiest Woman Alive' in 2022, is an ambassador and major shareholder for a betting firm. She even launched a site titled OnlyPaige - which features saucy snaps, golf coaching videos, livestreams and vlogs - something not too dissimilar from what Lilia's doing now. It was his first win but he was so 'very confident' he would claim his first majors win that he got her to change her flight so she didn't miss his game. Justin, 32, recalled telling his then girlfriend of a year: 'I don't want you to miss this and I feel like I'm going to get it done.' Jillian is a journalism graduate who works for a major advertising firm but is likely on maternity leave, after giving birth to daughter Molly late last year. She's part of a 'great support network' that nursed Justin back to health from a 'pretty bad space mentally' back in 2021. The couple married a year later. Justin's clearly proud of his 'great wife' as his Instagram page, which boasts more than two million followers, is littered with snaps of the two of them together. The 36-year-old, who is married to six-time World Golf Championships winner Dustin Johnson, 40, is not only a successful model but a musician and an actress. One year after making her modelling debut in Flare magazine in 2005, she released the song Collecting Dust, which was used for MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. She's also famed for her bikini-clad bit-parts in films including the Adam Sandler comedy Grown Ups 2, the 2009 remake of Fame, and Gary Oldman hit Guns, Girls and Gambling. Paulina has forged a successful career and doesn't regret choosing fame over college, despite her father spending a fortune to send her to one of America's best all-female prep schools. She admits her first night out with future hubby Dustin in 2013 wasn't overly romantic, adding: 'I don't know if you can call it a date since my dad tagged along.' Within a year they were engaged and eventually tied the knot in 2022. They share two sons Tatum, 10, and River, seven. When asked why their nuptials took nearly a decade, she said: 'This guy has no downtime. The stresses from getting everything ready for a wedding would take over mine and his life and what I needed to be was his teammate.' Gushing about their love story, she added: 'I fell in love with someone so fast and we just had the best thing that's ever happened to us happen so quickly.' Erica Stoll 25 Rory McIlroy U-turned on his decision to divorce wife Erica Stoll Credit: Getty Erica Stoll has stood by her man Rory McIlroy through thick and thin - even a moment of madness that led him to file for divorce last year. The Northern Irishman, 36, retracted his decision within a month and recalled the moment as a 'a wake-up call' where he decided: 'Let's just focus on the golf for a little bit.' He's been in a relationship with Erica since 2014 - two years after first locking eyes at the famous 2012 Ryder Cup while she was working as a PGA employee. She came to his rescue during that tournament by arranging a police escort for him when he overslept, due to a timezone mix-up, and risked missing tee time. That Ryder Cup became renowned for the 'Miracle at Midinah' and saw McIlroy's team Europe make the comeback of a lifetime, clawing back a victory after being 10-6 down on the final day of play. The couple, who married in 2017, share daughter Poppy, four. During his time away from Erica, 37, last year, Rory said he realised 'our best future was as a family together'. Prior to parenthood, Erica rose up the ranks in the PGA from transport official to office manager and manager of championship volunteer operations. The couple met at high school but didn't date until their final year and tied the knot in a Winder Wonderland-themed wedding in Dallas six years later. In 2024 they welcomed their son Bennett. Meredith says she was drawn to Scottie because he had a 'super humble ambience about him' and has remained modest. She said: 'He was just a really down-to-earth guy that doesn't take himself too seriously. Even when he had amazing accomplishments, that wasn't the most important thing about him." US golfer Colin admits: 'I didn't start winning in college until she showed up in my life, so thanks Kat." And it's not just on the green where she excels. Katherine's also a talented tennis player, winning her first amateur tournament aged 13. Kelley, 31, is a former javelin thrower, who represented Arizona State University and she remains sporty, often joining her husband for workouts. However, tennis is one sport they will no longer play together. She recalled: 'He's killing forehands... cross court zingers, and I'm thinking, 'This can't be right.' "He was so good. I was so upset. I was actually mad for a day or two. We have not stepped foot on a tennis court since." Four years after they set eyes on each other in 2012 they were married and Wendy has been a beacon of strength for her partner throughout. Shane described the Irish nurse, who works at Dublin's Temple Street Children's Hospital, as his "No1 fan" and says he owes her "a lot" for her support. 'There were plenty of times I have been crying myself to sleep or wondering am I able to keep going," he gushed in 2019. "But when you have a good strong woman behind you it makes it easier." Wendy says their two children have massively changed Shane for the better, explaining that if he has a bad day on the course, "the girls don't care" and "they just want Dad home".
