In a trending video with more than 214,000 views, content creator Victoria (@visunderhiseye) explains that she got her 2021
Ford Bronco Sport
a month ago and didn't know she needed to do this at the carwash.
'If you have a Bronco Sport, make sure you press this button off when you go through a car wash,' Victoria warns in the text overlay.
'Make sure to take that off. Take it off!' she urges while pointing to the auto-hold button.
Victoria explains in the caption that her local car wash didn't know that the button causes the car to remain stationary even when in neutral. In her case the car kept getting pushed over the wash's hump but not moving anymore.
Despite the entire car wash crew coming out to try and help, it wasn't until one of the managers came out that they were able to fix it.
They pressed the button and the Ford proceeded through the carwash without any further issues.
'Seriously, though, please press this button off when you're going through a carwash!' Victoria said in the caption.

What Is the Auto-Hold Button and What Is It For?
The auto-hold button, which appears to have a hand facing out in a 'stop' motion (on other vehicles, it simply says 'auto hold'), is often located under or near the parking button.
Auto hold is designed to keep your car stationary even after you take your foot off the brake, according to Ford.
This is a great feature for when you're in stop-and-go traffic or on a hill.
But if you don't know that it's on (or forget to turn it off), it can cause problems in situations where your car needs to roll freely, like in an automatic carwash.
What Happens if You Leave the Auto-Hold on at a Car Wash?
When auto-hold is active, your car's brakes remain engaged after you come to a full stop, even if you're in neutral (like you need to be at the carwash).
If you enter the carwash with it on the conveyor belt, it may push your car forward, but the auto hold would fight the motion by keeping the brakes locked.
Having auto-hold on in the car wash could cause your car to jerk suddenly or even activate the emergency brake, potentially causing damage, so make sure you turn it off when it's your turn at the wash.

The Brief President Trump has blocked California's 2035 ban on the sale of gas-powered vehicles. In response to his blocking, California has filed a lawsuit challenging the motion. President Donald Trump signed a resolution blocking California's first-in-the-nation rule banning the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035. The state quickly announced it was challenging the move in court. What we know The resolution was approved by Congress last month and aims to quash the country's most aggressive attempt to phase out gas-powered cars. Trump also signed measures to overturn state policies curbing tailpipe emissions in certain vehicles and smog-forming nitrogen oxide pollution from trucks. Trump called California's regulations "crazy" at a White House ceremony where he signed the resolutions on Thursday. "It's been a disaster for this country," he said. The other side In response to the president's decision, California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit, saying Trump's actions "will have life or death consequences for CA communities breathing dirty, toxic air." "We've filed our lawsuit against the Trump Admin for illegally targeting California's clean vehicles program. CA will fiercely defend ourselves from this lawless federal overreach," Bonta wrote in a post on X. Dig deeper The three resolutions Trump signed will block California's rule phasing out gas-powered cars and end the sale of new ones by 2035. They will also kill rules that phase out the sale of medium- and heavy-duty diesel vehicles and cut tailpipe emissions from trucks. In his remarks at the White House, Trump expressed doubts about the performance and reliability of electric vehicles, though he had some notably positive comments about the company owned by Elon Musk, despite their fractured relationship. "I like Tesla," Trump said. In remarks that often meandered away from the subject at hand, Trump used the East Room ceremony to also muse on windmills, which he claimed "are killing our country," the prospect of getting electrocuted by an electric-powered boat if it sank and whether he'd risk a shark attack by jumping as the boat went down. "I'll take electrocution every single day," the president said. When it comes to cars, Trump said he likes combustion engines but for those that prefer otherwise, "If you want to buy electric, you can buy electric." What they're saying "What this does is it gives us freedom," said Bill Kent, the owner of Kent Kwik convenience stores. Kent, speaking at the White House, said that the California rules would have forced him to install "infrastructure that frankly, is extremely expensive and doesn't give you any return." The Alliance for Automotive Innovation, which represents major car makers, applauded Trump's action. "Everyone agreed these EV sales mandates were never achievable and wildly unrealistic," John Bozzella, the group's president and CEO, said in a statement. Trump's signing of the resolutions comes as he has pledged to revive American auto manufacturing and boost oil and gas drilling. The move follows other steps the Trump administration has taken to roll back rules that aim to protect air and water and reduce emissions that cause climate change. The Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday proposed repealing rules that limit greenhouse gas emissions from power plants fueled by coal and natural gas. Dan Becker with the Center for Biological Diversity, said the signing of the resolutions was "Trump's latest betrayal of democracy." "Signing this bill is a flagrant abuse of the law to reward Big Oil and Big Auto corporations at the expense of everyday people's health and their wallets," Becker said in a statement. California, which has some of the nation's worst air pollution, has been able to seek waivers for decades from the EPA, allowing it to adopt stricter emissions standards than the federal government. In his first term, Trump revoked California's ability to enforce its standards, but Democratic President Joe Biden reinstated it in 2022. Trump has not yet sought to revoke it again. Republicans have long criticized those waivers and earlier this year opted to use the Congressional Review Act, a law aimed at improving congressional oversight of actions by federal agencies, to try to block the rules. That's despite a finding from the U.S. Government Accountability Office, a nonpartisan congressional watchdog, that California's standards cannot legally be blocked using the Congressional Review Act. In the caption, she joked that after the juice, they were 'even.' As of Thursday, the clip had racked up more than 233,000 views. If True, She Scored a Baller Deal Replacing a car's motor, or engine, typically costs thousands. For most vehicles, engine replacement ranges from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on the car's make, model, engine type, and labor costs. Luxury vehicles or newer models can run as high as $15,000 or more. On the MechanicAdvice subreddit, one user said a shop quoted them $6,000 to replace the engine in a 2011 Mazda 3 , with $2,400 of that going toward labor alone. 'One of my co-workers who used to be a mechanic told me that $2.4k is way too high and that it should be around $1k—$1.5k,' they wrote. Still, $100 is unheard of. You can find ways to cut costs, like buying a used or remanufactured engine or shopping around for quotes from different shops, just like Raeign did. And if you're really lucky, maybe your mechanic just wants a juice in return. There are also ways to keep your engine running strong and avoid replacement altogether. Warning signs of engine trouble include knocking or rumbling noises, excessive smoke, loss of power, poor fuel efficiency, overheating, or an illuminated check engine light. Replacing an engine is serious work. Staying on top of service intervals and addressing issues early can save you from a costly breakdown. 'Was it a wiper motor? Window lift motor? Because $100…wow!' another said. 'Damn most mechanics wouldn't change their mind for $100,' someone else joked. 'Aww he changed the tire,' another added. Although some might say tipping culture has gone overboard, it's still not common practice to tip mechanics. However, if one gives you a great deal like the one Reaign got, that might warrant an exception. Some viewers said if a mechanic ever changed their motor for $100, they'd offer more than just juice. And How Much? A cursory search online reveals the obvious: When they go above and beyond. Especially when they do added work but don't charge you for it because they stumbled upon a quick solution organically and kept the fix off-books. It isn't recommended you tip at dealerships or chains. And then it's a matter of how much. That part is subjective! But no one says no to an extra $20.
