A woman went viral this week after sharing how she thanked a mechanic who reportedly replaced her motor for just $100.
Raeign (@raeignbykeyzz) posted a video saying she found someone willing to do the job for what most would call an unbelievably low price. Her thank-you gift? A juice.

'GIRL MATH: Bought my mechanic a juice from the corner store because he only charged me $100 to change my motor,' she wrote in the text overlay. In the caption, she joked that after the juice, they were 'even.'
As of Thursday, the clip had racked up more than 233,000 views.
If True, She Scored a Baller Deal
Replacing a car's motor, or engine,
typically costs
thousands. For most vehicles, engine replacement ranges from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on the car's make, model, engine type, and labor costs. Luxury vehicles or newer models can run as high as $15,000 or more.
On the
MechanicAdvice
subreddit, one user said a shop quoted them $6,000 to replace the engine in a
2011 Mazda 3
, with $2,400 of that going toward labor alone.
'One of my co-workers who used to be a mechanic told me that $2.4k is way too high and that it should be around $1k—$1.5k,' they wrote.
Still, $100 is unheard of.
You can find ways to cut costs, like buying a used or remanufactured engine or shopping around for quotes from different shops, just like Raeign did. And if you're really lucky, maybe your mechanic just wants a juice in return.
There are also ways to keep your engine running strong and avoid replacement altogether. Warning signs of
engine trouble
include knocking or rumbling noises, excessive smoke, loss of power, poor fuel efficiency, overheating, or an illuminated check engine light.
Replacing an engine is serious work. Staying on top of service intervals and addressing issues early can save you from a costly breakdown.

In the comment section of Raeign's video, some people expressed skepticism that she got the deal she said she did.
'Bro did not change no motor,' one commenter wrote.
'Was it a wiper motor? Window lift motor? Because $100…wow!' another said.
'Damn most mechanics wouldn't change their mind for $100,' someone else joked.
'Aww he changed the tire,' another added.
Although some might say tipping culture has gone overboard, it's still not common practice to tip mechanics. However, if one gives you a great deal like the one Reaign got, that might warrant an exception.
Some viewers said if a mechanic ever changed their motor for $100, they'd offer more than just juice.
'Would've [bought] him lunch as well,' one woman commented.
'A juice!!! That deserved a bottle of Don Julio & some dinner,' another added.
But few people said deals like this do happen.
'My neighborhood mechanic fixed the issue and turned my check engine light off,' one woman shared. 'He wanted buffet money. I handed it to him.'
'I'm working on an old lady's car right now, I'm charging her like 300 bucks,' another said. 'I should be charging her wayyy more based on the work I'm doing lol.'
When Should You Tip Your Mechanic? And How Much?
A cursory search online reveals the obvious: When they go above and beyond. Especially when they do added work but don't charge you for it because they stumbled upon a quick solution organically and kept the fix off-books.
It isn't recommended you tip at dealerships or chains. And then it's a matter of how much.
That part is subjective! But no one says no to an extra $20. And certainly, food, drink, gift cards, or even a thank-you note all go a long ways.

‘I Was Like Bait:' Woman Drives a ‘Fishbowl' Car. Then She Reveals Why You Shouldn't

A woman has had it with her 'fishbowl' car after a creepy interaction with a bike rider while driving. And it's doubled as actionable wisdom for prospective car buyers. In a TikTok with more than 2.7 million views, Shamari ( @shamarixx ) recently shared about a time where she wished she had more privacy. What Is a 'Fishbowl' Car? A fishbowl car refers to cars without window tints, which can be easily looked into from the outside. Essentially, everyone can see who you are while driving a fishbowl. In her post, Shamari shares about the major downside of driving around without tinted windows. She starts by claiming, 'If you are a beautiful girl do not drive a fishbowl.' Shamari tells how she was at a stop sign and had a brief moment with a biker. This moment simply entailed letting the biker pass the car at a stoplight. However, the biker was intrigued by the woman inside the fishbowl car. Instead of biking away, the biker winks at Shamari and stays put. Shmarari was in the process of parking her car, and the biker stopped to watch, she says. 'It's so uncomfortable being looked at,' one TikTok commenter added. This move left Shamari uncomfortable and uneasy. 'I need a Batmobile,' she concludes. Clearly getting hit on by a biker wearing tight compression shorts didn't thrill Shamari. 'Girl, yes I'm getting tints immediately.' Why Get Tinted Windows? Tinted windows not only block out the sun, but also the creeps. There are many benefits to getting windows tinted, and the main two reasons are for extra privacy and protection from the sun. When driving a fishbowl, everyone can see who you are and what's in your car. This exposure can lead to uninvited interactions and make it an easy target for car break-ins. So getting tinted windows provides an extra layer of safety and security from both. If the thieves and creeps don't know what's inside, they keep it moving. In addition to enhancing privacy, tinted windows also reduce cabin temperatures. Tinted windows eliminate a significant portion of the sun's heat from getting inside the car. This is especially useful for anyone in hot climates or doing long drives. Additionally, tinted windows can help reduce the strain on air conditioning units and reduce sun fading on the interiors. Not to mention, adding tinted windows enhances the car's aesthetic. Tinted windows give cars a more stylish, mysterious, and professional feel. Pulling up to the function with tinted windows increases aura points as everyone questions who's really inside that car. One thing to consider when tinting windows is making sure you are in compliance with your state laws. Each state will specify a maximum percentage of darkness that windows can be tinted. Each state will vary, and you can find out what your US state allows here . Why You Shouldn't Drive a Fishbowl Car As mentioned, getting tinted windows enhances privacy, sun protection, and style. Unfortunately, extra layers of protection are often needed to feel safe driving around town. As the post reveals, some men can be adamant in their pursuit and fail to pick up on obvious social cues. Many commenters related to this experience and chimed in. 'The amount of times I've been hit while literally driving is insane, mind you I'm pregnant,' one TikTok commenter shared. 'I was like bait to a world of creeps when I had no tints,' another commenter shared. Driving the fishbowl car can make you a sitting duck as everyone can see who you are. Driving alone can attract more uncomfortable situations. So, if you are someone who wants to avoid interactions while driving, add getting tinted windows to your to-do list. On top of that, your car will look great while driving, plus you'll have extra protection from the sun. What Did Viewers Think? 'Girl, yes I'm getting tints immediately,' one added 'I have a fishbowl car too. I just act like I can't see or hear them,' one commented. 'Good thing I'm ugly,' one joked. Winners And Losers Of Q1: FTAI Aviation (NASDAQ:FTAI) Vs The Rest Of The Vehicle Parts Distributors Stocks

As the craze of earnings season draws to a close, here's a look back at some of the most exciting (and some less so) results from Q1. Today, we are looking at vehicle parts distributors stocks, starting with FTAI Aviation (NASDAQ:FTAI). Supply chain and inventory management are themes that grew in focus after COVID wreaked havoc on the global movement of raw materials and components. Transportation parts distributors that boast reliable selection in sometimes specialized areas combined and quickly deliver products to customers can benefit from this theme. Additionally, distributors who earn meaningful revenue streams from aftermarket products can enjoy more steady top-line trends and higher margins. But like the broader industrials sector, transportation parts distributors are also at the whim of economic cycles that impact capital spending, transportation volumes, and demand for discretionary parts and components. The 4 vehicle parts distributors stocks we track reported a satisfactory Q1. As a group, revenues beat analysts' consensus estimates by 1.1%. Thankfully, share prices of the companies have been resilient as they are up 9.7% on average since the latest earnings results. Rush Enterprises reported revenues of $1.85 billion, down 1.1% year on year. This print surpassed analysts' expectations by 1.4%. The stock is flat since reporting and currently trades at $51.18. Read our full, actionable report on Rush Enterprises here, it's free. Thanks to the Fed's rate hikes in 2022 and 2023, inflation has been on a steady path downward, easing back toward that 2% sweet spot. Fortunately (miraculously to some), all this tightening didn't send the economy tumbling into a recession, so here we are, cautiously celebrating a soft landing. The cherry on top? Recent rate cuts (half a point in September 2024, a quarter in November) have propped up markets, especially after Trump's November win lit a fire under major indices and sent them to all-time highs. However, there's still plenty to ponder — tariffs, corporate tax cuts, and what 2025 might hold for the economy. Want to invest in winners with rock-solid fundamentals? This one question turned Daniel Mac into an online star overnight

A video about what expensive car owners do for a living took the internet by storm and started one online influencer's lucrative content-creation career. Daniel Macdonald, known as "Daniel Mac" across social media platforms, spoke with Fox News Digital about how he became an internet sensation by inquiring about what people on the streets do for a living. "It was during COVID and I walked up to somebody in an Audi R8 and I asked them what they did, I posted a video and my first video got like 40 million views just right off the bat," Macdonald said. He continued to post similar videos and, a week later, had one million followers. "It was kind of like an untapped market of people that were interested in a little bit of comedy, but also in figuring out how they could also get wealthy too. It was like the boom of kind of financial, on-the-street interview-style content," Macdonald said. Along with interviewing supercar owners, he has also interviewed owners of yachts, watches, and other luxury items. Macdonald described his niche as asking what luxury owners do for a living in order to get an insight into how these people became wealthy. When he started producing content, he didn't realize that there was also an opportunity to make money from content creation outside of YouTube. Then a few months later, Macdonald started receiving deals, recalling, "I did my first brand deal with Helen Mirren for 'Fast and Furious.' And that was like six months after I posted my first video." One big check surprised Macdonald, and was the start of his full-time content creation career. "The money was really interesting too. I remember, the first check that actually made me consider quitting my job was from Snapchat. And I remember looking at it and thinking it was a misprint, but the amount was basically my annual salary for a month. And that's when I realized that this is actually something that can be really lucrative." He then quit his 9-5, which he described as "really scary," and moved to Los Angeles. The leap of faith paid off and now Macdonald has met many celebrities and continues to post content to his social media pages that each have millions of followers and subscribers. "Every day, I'm like, this is the dream job. I can't even believe it's a reality," he said. Macdonald shared what he learned from interviewing wealthy people. "I think that's something that a lot of younger people need to hear is that you really don't need to have your job figured out because most of these wealthy people did 10 different things before they got wealthy that I interviewed." Additionally, Macdonald added that many wealthy people are not flashy and maintain a low profile. "It's actually a lot harder for me to get interviews out of people that are on that top, top level because they don't want to flex," he said. Macdonald concluded that he believes his platforms are encouraging other young people to get out of their comfort zone. "I get people to get out of the house and get out of their comfort zone, kind of like I do," he said. Watch Daniel Mac on "Fox & Friends" on June 17 at 8:50 a.m. ET.
