Police nab fifth suspect over Wynberg courthouse 'hit'
Police spokesperson Brig Novela Potelwa said the latest arrest brings the number of suspects in the murder investigation to five.
'As the investigation unfolded police indicated they had their sights on a number of suspects whom they believed were behind the shooting,' she said.
Shireen Matthews, 35, Abubaker Adams, 24, Brian Booysen, 34, and Wanay Fararo, 22, previously appeared in court facing charges related to the shooting on April 8 in the court building.
Dingalomoya Chintso, 50, was killed by gunmen who bypassed security, shot the victim and escaped. At the time he faced charges of murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
The state alleges the accused aided and abetted criminal gang activity in association with the Junky Funky Kidz gang, are implicated in the premeditated murder of Chintso and were in illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Reality TV star Wandi Ndlovu out on bail after uncle's fatal stabbing
Reality TV personality and social media influencer Wandi Ndlovu, 26, and her mother and sister Ntombifuthi have been released on bail after spending two weeks behind bars following the fatal stabbing of her uncle, Linda Ndlovu. The incident occurred during an alleged heated altercation at the family home in Katlehong on a Friday night that stretched into the early hours on Saturday. According to an insider, the dispute began after Wandi's mother confronted the uncle about playing loud music in his backroom. A physical fight allegedly ensued, during which she was injured. Wandi, Ntombifuthi, and a younger sister said to be a minor reportedly went to confront the uncle, and one of them allegedly stabbed him. He was later found outside and died before emergency services personnel could treat him. The family is being represented by attorney Dumisani Mabunda, known for his involvement in the 'Dr' Matthew Lani case. Mabunda celebrated their release outside court on August 5. Police have not yet released a formal statement, and the date for the trio's next court appearance remains unclear.

Satawu welcomes departure of ports authority CEO Pepi Silinga
The SA Transport and Allied Workers Union has welcomed the decision by the Transnet National Ports Authority to part ways with its CEO, Pepi Silinga. The TNPA said on Tuesday his exit was effective from July 16. This comes after both parties reached a settlement agreement with the parastatal and vacated his post. Silinga was placed on precautionary suspension in 2024 after allegations of the wrongful awarding of a R300m tender. He had taken a voluntary leave of absence just three months before, in January. Satawu spokesperson Amanda Tshemese welcomed the developments and said the union remained committed to transparency, accountability and implementation of strategic projects within the state-owned entity. 'Most importantly, our focus is on our members and workers at TNPA,' she said. 'The union is willing and prepared to work with anyone who shares the same values and principles with us, and that includes empowering our members and workers, improving working conditions and improving the TNPA.'
