After creating intrigue in theatres, 'Odela 2', the supernatural thriller led by Tamannaah Bhatia , is all set for its digital premiere.'Odela 2' is a Telugu-language sequel to the 2022 film Odela Railway Station. While the first film was a gritty crime thriller based on real incidents from the Odela village in Telangana, the sequel pivots into a supernatural narrative. The original ended with the death of a brutal killer who targeted newlywed women, but 'Odela 2' picks up from there—with the killer's vengeful spirit now haunting the village. The story introduces Shiva Shakthi, a fierce Aghori and a devotee of Lord Shiva, played by Tamannaah Bhatia. She arrives in Odela with the sole mission of banishing the evil spirit and restoring peace to the troubled village. Tamannaah's transformation into a powerful spiritual force battling darkness is one of the film's most gripping elements.Directed by Ashok Teja and written by Sampath Nandi, Odela 2 features a strong ensemble cast that includes Hebah Patel, Vasishta N. Simha, Murali Sharma, Sharath Lohitashwa, Yuva, Naga Mahesh, and Vamsi in prominent roles. The film will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from May 8, 2025, marking its global OTT debut. The official announcement was made by film publicist Vamsi Shekar via social media, who wrote, '#Odela2 streaming worldwide TOMORROW only on @primevideoin.'Check out our review first ! ETimes gave 2.5 star rating for the film and our review reads, 'Odela 2 is not for the faint-hearted—the film is rife with gore, bloodshed, and violent spiritual encounters. The horror sequences rely on familiar tropes and gradually lose their edge. The second half, in particular, drags and suffers from a lack of narrative urgency. Fortunately, the climax redeems the film to an extent, offering an emotionally charged and visually impactful payoff. Despite its flaws, 'Odela 2' is a bold attempt to push genre boundaries in Indian cinema. Watch it for Tamannaah's powerful transformation and the rooted horror setting. But don't expect a consistently gripping ride—this one's more atmospheric than arresting.'

Mangli responds after police raid her birthday party for liquor violation; says no drugs were found at resort

Popular Telugu folk singer Mangli found herself in legal trouble after throwing a birthday bash for friends and family at a resort in Chevella, near Hyderabad. The Chevella police have registered a case against the singer and three others for hosting a party without proper permissions. (Also Read: Water tank bursts on set of Ram Charan's The India House causing major flooding, crew members injured) According to the news agency PTI, police raided the resort on Tuesday night and found 25 guests there, with music being played by a DJ. Mangli's birthday party was organised without obtaining permission from the Excise Department to serve liquor at a commercial establishment, nor was a police license issued for using the sound system. Cases were registered against Mangli, the resort manager and two others for alleged violation of provisions of the Excise Act, the loudspeaker rule and the NDPS Act, said the police. Samples of the guests were collected using NDPS kits at Mangli's birthday, and one of them tested positive for marijuana. Upon questioning, the police said that he confessed to smoking marijuana four days ago. The probe is on to track and trace the drug supplier. After news broke of liquor and drug violations at her birthday party, Mangli issued a video statement to the press clarifying what happened. She said, 'As my parents had requested, my birthday was held at a resort with a tight guest list. My parents, their friends, and my friends, along with our family members, were present there.' She admitted that permission wasn't taken for liquor and sound, as she 'wasn't aware' she needed to, but denied drugs were partaken at the resort. 'We did have a sound system and liquor, but I did not know we needed to take permission for it. I definitely would've taken permission otherwise; it was a misunderstanding,' said Mangli, adding, 'Also, my party had nothing more than local liquor. The police also didn't find any drugs on the premises. The one person who tested positive for it had taken it beforehand. We are cooperating with the police on the investigation.'

‘What did I say!' Check Rana Daggubati's reaction when he realised he was abusing Venkatesh in Rana Naidu Season 2

As fans eagerly await the release of Rana Naidu Season 2, actor Rana Daggubati shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes moment he witnessed with his maternal uncle, Venkatesh Daggubati, during the shooting of the show. Talking to The Indian Express' SCREEN, Rana said he didn't realise until much later that he was abusing his mama on screen in the first season of Rana Naidu. 'Shit! What did I say!' was the actor's first reaction when he learnt what his Hindi dialogues meant. 'Since it was Hindi, I didn't understand much of what I said in part 1. So I thought it was okay. It was worse when I was dubbing it in Telugu,' Rana shared. However, the actor said that since both of them were in 'very definite attire and look,' they were all fine. 'We're licensed to do anything,' he laughed. The 'Baahubali' actor said that ever since he became an actor, he had always thought he would work with his uncle Venkatesh. 'From the time I made it as an actor, I always thought I'd work with him at some point of time. I was really looking forward to what that project would be,' he told SCREEN. 'As a co-actor, he's pretty phenomenal and charges us to be better each time,' Rana said, sharing his experience of working with his uncle in Rana Naidu. The actor also added that the Netflix India series is 'something unique that came our way. It's not something he or I have done before.' 'These characters can just go on because they started from such opposite ends that you can travel with them across multiple seasons,' he added. Rana Daggubati also acknowledged that Rana Naidu is 'the only 'pan-Indian' show,' as his co-star Abhishek Banerjee rightly pointed out. Fans can watch Rana Naidu Season 2 on Netflix. The OTT giant will begin streaming it on Friday, June 13.

‘Maryade Prashne' OTT release: Kannada revenge drama to stream on THIS date

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) After a successful theatrical run and strong critical acclaim, the Kannada film 'Maryade Prashne' is all set to make its digital debut. The intense revenge drama, which was released in November 2024, will begin streaming on OTT from June 13, 2025. The streaming platform officially announced the release with a striking poster and the caption: 'The verdict is out… What begins as a question of dignity unravels into a deeper fight for truth.' Plot: A party turns life-altering 'Maryade Prashne' follows the emotional and moral turmoil of three friends — Suri, Manja, and Sathish — from Chamrajpete, Bengaluru. Their lives take a dark turn after a seemingly ordinary birthday celebration spirals into tragedy. What unfolds is a haunting tale that questions dignity, class disparities, and the psychological aftermath of violence and injustice. As the three navigate the harsh realities that follow the incident, the film delves deep into the invisible yet rigid lines that separate privilege from struggle, comfort from survival. It's a narrative that not only seeks revenge but also introspection. The movie starts streaming on Sun NXT. A peek into the making of KGF starring Yash in the lead Cast, crew and creative force The film features a compelling ensemble cast including Rakesh Adiga, Sunil Raoh, Poornachandra Mysore, Teju Belawadi, Prabhu Mundkur, and Shine Shetty. Each performance has been praised for adding depth and authenticity to the gritty screenplay. 'Maryade Prashne' marks the directorial debut of Nagaraj Somayaji, with the story penned by RJ Pradeepa. Grounded Narrative And Stellar Performances Elevate This Ordinary Tale About The Struggles Of Middle-Class Life ETimes gave the film a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5 and our review read, 'The first half of the film effectively captures the nuances of middle-class life with many subtle, relatable scenes. The second half, however, shifts to a revenge-drama narrative. The film gets preachy in the second half and towards the end, and loses steam for a bit, before finding its way to the core plot. The dialogue could have been better and more effective. The movie also explores the friendship equation between the haves and the have-nots, and how money plays a role in each of their friendships. Sandeep Valluri's camera shows core Bengaluru in a fresh light. The songs are well-placed and go with the flow of the film. Naa Nanaguve is haunting.'
