Woman flung from vehicle, killed in Ayer Keroh expressway crash

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman was killed after she was flung from a multi-purpose vehicle that crashed along the southbound lane of the North-South Expressway (NSE) near Ayer Keroh, Melaka this morning.
The impact of the crash at KM189.1 of the highway also caused four children to be thrown from the vehicle, with one sustaining serious injuries.
In a statement, the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) said preliminary investigations showed that the vehicle was believed to have lost control and crashed into the central divider before coming to a halt on the emergency lane.
"As a result of the impact, a female passenger was flung into the northbound left lane and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
"Another female passenger sustained serious injuries, while three Malay girls suffered minor injuries," the statement said.
Highway patrol personnel moved the injured individuals to the road shoulder while waiting for emergency responders.
The MHA said traffic slowed in both directions, with congestion stretching 9.3km southbound and 7.4km northbound.

Whatever hardship I've faced is nothing compared to what she has gone through,' he added On Wednesday morning, Bella was seen arriving at the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya to show support as Syed Saddiq awaited a ruling on his appeal. He was later acquitted of all four charges in the RM1.2mil graft case involving funds from Armada Bersatu. Bella described the verdict as a 'deserved win' for the Syed Saddiq.
