
AP assembly Dy speaker participate in Yogandhra, calls for success of Yoga event on June 21
In a month-long celebration of International Yoga Day, the Andhra Pradesh Government has organised the Yoga Andhra festival, encouraging citizens to partake in daily yoga sessions across all districts. Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishna Raju on Saturday actively participated, performing yoga asanas at the event held in Pedaamiram, Kalla Mandal of West Godavari district.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Speaker Raghurama highlighted the extensive yoga training being organised by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, asserting that Andhra Pradesh is leading the nation in promoting yoga practices. He announced plans for a grand yoga event on the banks of the Vizag sea on June 21, coinciding with International Yoga Day. Initially expecting two crore registrations, he revealed that over two crore twenty lakh individuals have signed up, with approximately 850,000 from West Godavari alone. Raghurama urged all participants to ensure Yoga Andhra 2025 is a memorable and successful initiative.
District Collector Nagarani and Joint Collector Rahul Kumar Reddy were also in attendance, engaging in the yoga activities. The state government is gearing up for a significant celebration in Visakhapatnam on June 21, which will feature participation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Union AYUSH Minister Pratap Rao Jadhav confirmed that the planned yoga programme will last 45 minutes, concluding with a speech from the Prime Minister. He added that the yoga events occurring in various states will be broadcast live, showcasing the nationwide commitment to this ancient practice.

Naidu to review preparations for Vizag Yoga Day event tomorrow
Visakhapatnam : Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will hold a high-level review meeting on preparations for International Yoga Day event in the city on Monday. The Yoga Day will be held along the 26.5-km beach stretch from RK Beach's Kalimata temple to Bheemili. The main stage will be at Kalimatha temple, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi, governor Sayed Abdul Nazeer, CM Chandrababu Naidu and his deputy Pavan Kalyan are expected to participate. In case of rain, the venue will be shifted to Andhra University Engineering College Grounds, where the authorities have covered the entire ground with pandals. The govt has been preparing to perform yoga with around five lakh people on that particular day on the entire beach stretch, including 31,000 people in 600 buses from Srikakulam, 36,000 in 700 buses from the undivided Vizianagaram district, and around 45,000 in 800 buses from Anakapalli and others. The city alone will perform with more than three lakh people. According to the officials, around five lakh people will take part on the event. Hundreds of yoga teachers have trained thousands of people for the event. On the beach road stretch, around 127 compartments measuring 200x14 metres will be equipped with water, medical support, and volunteers. Vijayawada: The ruling (TDP) is planning to conduct a door-to-door campaign to explain the programmes and schemes implemented by the NDA govt in the first year of governance. The campaign is named 'Toli Adugu – Victory March'. CM Naidu asked MLAs to visit every home in their constituency, starting from June 23, and explain to the people what the NDA govt did in the last year despite severe financial constraints. He stated that the previous YSRCP regime destroyed the state in every aspect. The chief minister further instructed the party cadres to effectively counter the false propaganda against state govt. He mentioned that the YSRCP is unable to digest the success of the NDA and is resorting to attacks and insulting women. He warned the cadres not to be complacent just because Mahanaadu was a success. He urged district-level and constituency leaders to complete the process of appointing party committees at the earliest. Moreover, the CM asked MLAs to dedicate some time every day to party activities. He further requested the MLAs to conduct leadership training camps and complete organisational committees quickly. Visakhapatnam gears up for International Yoga Day event on June 21
The City of Destiny is undergoing a major facelift ahead of the International Yoga Day celebrations, scheduled for June 21. The Beach Road stretch between the Naval Coastal Battery and Park Hotel Junction, the main venue for the event, is being beautified extensively. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and other dignatoaries are sheduled to participate in the grand event. The Beach Road, which underwent a beautification drive ahead of the G-20 summit in 2023, is now being adorned with innovative installations and sculptures. Among the highlights are a floral-themed structure and a giant paintbrush topped with greenery, symbolising the State government's 'Harithandhrapradesh' initiative. Painting and refurbishment works are being undertaken on sculptures, medians and grills to give them a vibrant and fresh appearance of the tourist spot. This apart, the Horticulture Department of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has been taking up works like planting new saplings, trimming and refreshing existing greenery to showcase a rejuvenated environment. Not just the RK Beach stretch, the beautification drive covers The Park Hotel Junction to Bheemunipatnam. This corridor is witnessing removal of dead trees, replacement of defunct streetlights, improvements to street lighting, footpaths, road repair works and general maintenance. Preparations are also under way at the Andhra University Engineering College Grounds, which have been identified as an alternative venue in case of rain. If the weather holds, the grounds may still host Yoga Day activities alongside the main event. Key officials, including Principal Secretary and Special Officer for the event, M.T. Krishna Babu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, and a Central inspection team, have already reviewed the ongoing arrangements. Chief Minister N.
