2 members of Mewati gang involved in ATM thefts, cow smuggling held on Delhi outskirts
Sabir, 29, a native of Nuh in Haryana, and Munfed, 25, of Rajasthan, were nabbed on Tuesday in a raid near Bamnauli village on the Bijwasan-Najafgarh road in southwest Delhi.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a Mahindra Bolero car and found the two men inside with a loaded pistol each.
According to police, Sabir is a habitual offender with past involvement in at least six criminal cases, including ATM thefts and violations under the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausanvardhan Act.
On October 8, 2021, an ATM was uprooted in Chirawa and cash to tune of ₹12.6 lakh was stolen from it.In another attempt the next day, the same criminals tried to tamper with another ATM at Mandrela Mod in Chirawa, but failed.
Sabir was wanted in both cases.
Police said he was also part of a cow smuggling operation in Dharuhera last year. In a raid, then, police rescued four cattle heads and arrested three people. Sabir managed to escape.
Munfed, with two prior cases against him in Rajasthan, reportedly joined Sabir's gang after struggling to support his family.

Mohali: Inter-state gang busted, six held
Police have arrested six members of three inter-state theft gangs and recovered stolen items worth around ₹35 lakh. The breakthrough came after two thefts were reported in Lalru's Gulmohar City and Hardev Nagar in June this year. A case was registered and investigation teams were constituted, which later tracked down the accused using technical surveillance and local intelligence. During questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement in thefts in Mohali, Morinda, Ludhiana and other areas. Police added that the gang members frequently changed their hideouts and phone numbers to evade arrest.

Seven held for firing at house in Sangrur village
The Sangrur police have arrested seven people involved in a firing incident at a house in Hassanpur village of Sangrur with three country-made pistols and magazines, police said on Friday. Complainant Kulwinder Singh of Hassanpur village said his wife, Kulwinder Kaur, and father, Baldev Singh, were at home when the incident took place between 1:30 am and 2 am. Kulwinder alleged that Harmanpreet Singh of Mulowal village was involved in the crime. A case was registered on August 5 under Sections 109, 125, 3(5), 61(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and 25/54/59 of the Arms Act against Harmanpreet Singh and three other unknown individuals. 'On August 6, cops arrested Harmanpreet Singh. Based on his interrogation, police identified and arrested his accomplices, identified as Tarnveer Singh, Natish Bhatti, and Gurnoor Singh. Two country-made pistols with magazines and a motorcycle, all used in the crime, were recovered from their possession,' the SSP said. During the investigation, the arrested suspects revealed that they were provided with the pistols by Navjot Singh, Harman Singh, and Amrinder Singh, who also gave them a Mahindra Bolero in Pedhni village. 'On August 8, police named and arrested Navjot Singh, Harman Singh, and Amrinder Singh. A pistol was recovered from Navjot Singh, and the white Bolero vehicle was recovered from Amrinder Singh,' the SSP added. The police said the crime was a result of a dispute between Avreet and Arshdeep. 'Avreet Singh promised Harmanpreet a substantial amount of money to assist three individuals—Tarnveer Singh, Natish Bhatti, and Gurnoor Singh—in carrying out the crime. The motive behind the attack was a prior dispute between the two NRIs. This personal grudge was the reason Avreet orchestrated the firing incident,' the SSP said.

In major drug bust, cops seize 847 kg ganja worth Rs 4.2 cr, arrest two
Hyderabad: In a meticulously coordinated joint operation, the Cyberabad Narcotic Police Station of the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) and the RNCC Khammam team have dismantled a major inter-state ganja trafficking network. The bust resulted in the seizure of 847 kilograms of high-grade ganja, with a street value of over Rs 4.2 crore, and the arrest of two habitual offenders. The operation is one of the largest and most precise anti-drug actions of 2025, targeting a supply corridor that runs from Malkangiri in Odisha to Uttar Pradesh via Telangana and Karnataka. According to police, on 4 August, intelligence reached the EAGLE CNPS and RNCC Khammam teams about a Uttar Pradesh-registered Mahindra Bolero pick-up truck carrying a massive ganja consignment from Odisha. The vehicle was expected to pass through Thondapalli village in Shamshabad, on the Bangalore National Highway, between 3pm and 6pm. By 1pm, a joint RNCC–CNPS team had been deployed with surveillance vehicles, weighing equipment, packing materials, and documentation tools. At 5pm, the suspect vehicle was intercepted near the Jama Masjid on Shamshabad Road. Two individuals were arrested and identified as Khilla Dhana (29) and Rajendar (26), both residents of Malkangiri district, Odisha. During the investigation, a tightly knit trafficking chain was exposed. An absconding individual, Ramesh Sukri, operated as the central coordinator from Malkangiri, linked to both Dhana and Rajendar through their village network. His associate, Jagadish Kuldeep, procured bulk ganja from cultivators like Shibo Shiba and Basu in remote forest areas. The syndicate's main buyer, ShaffiqShafi from Uttar Pradesh, placed large-volume orders and provided advance vehicles with UP registration, while handling payments through couriers or layered transfers to obscure the trail.
