Bengals Will Wear Alternate Uniforms vs. Steelers in Week 7

The Cincinnati Bengals will wear their all-white alternate uniforms when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Week 7, the team announced on Wednesday. The Bengals have worn their White Bengal uniforms in every season since 2022. They are 4-1 in games where they've worn it. The Bengals beat the Steelers, 37-30, in 2022 at Acrisure Stadium when wearing the all-white unis. The Steelers' Week 7 contest against the Bengals will be their first meeting of the season. The rematch will take place in Week 11 at Acrisure Stadium. The Steelers' first AFC North game will be against the Cleveland Browns at Acrisure Stadium in Week 6. To say the least, getting the Bengals on the road in a short week after facing a division opponent will not be an easy task for the Black and Gold. The New England Patriots announced in July that they'll wear their 'Pat Patriot' throwback uniforms against the Steelers in Week 3 at Gillette Stadium. The Los Angeles Chargers will also wear their powder blue jerseys and gold pants when they face the Steelers in Week 10 at SoFi Stadium on Sunday Night Football. After the schedule release in May, team president Art Rooney II revealed that the Steelers will wear their throwback uniforms against the Green Bay Packers and Color Rush unis against the Miami Dolphins. 'We are going to have a new throwback uniform this year, and with a new helmet to go with it,' Rooney said in his statement released on the Steelers' official website. 'We're planning to wear our new throwbacks for the Packers game on Sunday night, Oct. 26. It'll be fun to wear our throwbacks against one of the older franchises in the league – that just seems to be appropriate. We'll be doing our Color Rush uniforms late in the year. I think we're going to do it for the Monday night game on Dec. 15 against the Miami Dolphins.' The Packers game and Dolphins games will be on Sunday Night and Monday Night Football, respectively. In 2019, the Steelers wore their color rush uniform against the Dolphins on a Monday Night matchup. Madden NFL 26 release highlights Saquon Barkley's apparent Trump-style touchdown celebration dance

The highly anticipated release of Madden NFL 26 appears to include a notable touchdown celebration that became a trend among some players last season. San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers and others broke out in celebratory dances that emulated President Donald Trump after touchdowns and sacks in 2024. The upcoming version of the popular NFL-centric video game appears to show the virtual representation of Eagles running back Saquon Barkley doing his version of the dance. During a Madden game between the Eagles and Washington Commanders, Jalen Hurts throws a pass to Barkley. An animated version of the All-Pro running back then sprints into the end zone for a touchdown before breaking out into the signature Trump dance. Barkley and Trump have a connection. Earlier this year, Barkley visited the White House to commemorate the Eagles' Super Bowl championship. The day before the president hosted Barkley and his teammates on the South Lawn of the White House for a celebration ceremony, the star running back was spotted disembarking Marine One at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey. Trump told reporters Barkley is a "nice guy" and joked he "wanted to race him." The president ultimately decided to skip the race. Barkley later responded to some of the backlash to news of his outing with Trump making its rounds on social media. "Some people are really upset cause I played golfed [sic] and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT," Barkley wrote on X. "Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand," Barkley wrote on X. "Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day." The White House's official X account shared a photo of Trump and Barkley inside the Oval Office. The picture features a screenshot of the running back's message to critics. More recently, Barkley declined an invitation to be part of Trump's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition. "A couple months ago, it was brought to my team about the council, so I'm not really too familiar with it," he said, according to NBC Philadelphia. "I felt like I'm gonna be super busy, so me and my family thought it was probably in the best interest to not accept that. "So, [I] was definitely a little shocked when my name was mentioned, but I'm assuming it's something great. I appreciate it but was a little shocked when my name was mentioned." Trump also named Bosa, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker to the council. Madden NFL 26 is scheduled to be released to the general public Aug. 14. However, some users started having access Thursday.

Zac Taylor says Geno Stone ‘week to week' bringing safety depth into question

Cincinnati Bengals safety Geno Stone is considered 'week to week' with a soft tissue injury, head coach Zac Taylor announced on Aug. 9. Stone suffered the injury in the Bengals' preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Aug. 7. Following practice on Saturday, Stone said his injury is "minor" and "nothing crazy." He is dealing with hamstring tightness and said he will be monitored on a daily basis. With Stone out for at least this week, Taylor and his coaching staff will get a closer look at backup safeties Tycen Anderson and Daijahn Anthony. As for how both Anderson and Anthony are playing so far in training camp, Taylor said he's looking forward to seeing how they handle the next week with increased snaps. If the Bengals don't feel comfortable with Anderson and Anthony's performance in practice and the final two exhibition games, look for the team to go shopping externally at safety. 'I think that's a group that we're looking to make sure we're deep enough there,' Taylor said. 'So they're gonna continue to get a lot of opportunities, certainly with Geno being out. I think it's a good chance to really see where they're at in their development. They've got to contribute on special teams. They've got to prove that they can walk in there and help us on defense as well. Those are guys that these next six practices will be really good for. Jordan Battle enters his third season with the Bengals needing to prove if he's a consistent starter in the NFL. He's shown flashes at various points in his career so far but has yet to play a full season as a starter. Battle has started 13 games in two years. Stone is in his second year with the Bengals and was asked to take a pay cut this offseason after a disappointing first season. Cincinnati's front office opted not to sign a safety in free agency or draft one showing their confidence in Battle and Stone as the starters. Taylor said cornerback Dax Hill will get an increased workload this week as he returns from a torn ACL. They'll make a decision on his preseason game availability after the next six practices. The Bengals will also evaluate Cam Taylor-Britt's status this week but Cincinnati's top cornerback was able to return to practice on Saturday.
