India fail to hold the fourth

LONDON: The loss at the Lord's Cricket Ground brought to fore a serious problem ailing Indian cricket. Be it defending or chasing targets, India have quite often squandered the advantage to concede the match in fourth innings.
Chasing 193 against hosts England in the third Test was never going to be easy but it definitely was not an improbable task. One good first session could have tilted the match in India's favour but batters apparently succumbed under pressure to hand Ben Stokes-led England a famous win at the home of cricket.
Only a few days ago, India were in a commanding position when they lost wickets in heaps in both the innings to allow England make a comeback and win the match. In Leeds, they were cruising at 430/3 riding on three centuries from their batters but then went on to lose seven wickets for 31 runs to be bowled out for 471. The next innings was no different as Shubman Gill's team lost seven wickets for 77 runs to get bundled out for 364. The target of 371, however, was not easy but this time the bowlers failed to click and the dropped catches didn't help the team's cause either as England won the match by five wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah To Miss Or Play 4th Test vs England Amid Major Injury Crisis? Mohammed Siraj's Clear Answer

Mohammed Siraj has answered the most important question leading up to the fourth India vs England Test in Manchester that starts on Wednesday - whether Jasprit Bumrah will play or not? The Indian cricket team is facing a major injury crisis. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is ruled out of the series due to a left knee injury. Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the fourth Test against England at Manchester. He sustained an impact injury to his left thumb while bowling in the nets at a training session in Beckenham. Even Akash Deep is being troubled by a groin injury, though he bowled in the nets on Monday. In such a situation, all eyes were on Bumrah, who will play only three of the five Tests due to workload management. he has already played the first and third Tests, both of which India lost as they trail 1-2 with two matches to go. In the midst of this Siraj has confirmed that Bumrah will play the fourth Test. "Boom will play as far as I know," Siraj was quoted by news agency PTI. Team India has been struck by multiple injury issues ahead of the 4th Test against England in Manchester, with the likes of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep Singh being ruled out. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named only one replacement, adding Chennai Super Kings pacer Anshul Kamboj to the roster ahead of the Manchester encounter. The 4th Test in Manchester is a must-win game for Team India, which is already trailing the 5-match series 1-2. There were doubts over Akash Deep's fitness too, but the BCCI has named him in the squad for the Manchester Test. In its release, the BCCI said: "All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests owing to a left knee injury. Nitish will fly back home, and the team wishes him a speedy recovery. "Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the fourth Test against England at Manchester. He sustained an impact injury to his left thumb while bowling in the nets at a training session in Beckenham. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring his progress." India's first F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan's life to be immortalised on screen

Twenty years ago, Narain Karthikeyan made history when he became the first Indian to race in Formula One at the 2005 Australian GP for Jordan Grand Prix team and broke the glass ceiling. Now, his inspiring and pioneering journey is set to be immortalised on the silver screen through a feature film. The Tamil-language biopic, to be directed by Mahesh Narayanan, is expected to hit the screens next year. 'People understand what F1 is now after Drive to Survive (documentary series on F1 championships) on Netflix, and now the F1 movie as well. So it's great to tell the story about India's first F1 driver. To break all the barriers to get there coming from India, there is a lot of drama in it,' said Narain in a chat with The Hindu. Wild journey 'You can see how tough it is, and F1 has always been like this. It is tough to be one of the elite 20 drivers. To then break other barriers, it was tremendously difficult. However, it was exciting as well. Formula One was my dream, and I think it was a fantastic and wild journey,' added the former F1 driver who started 46 races over three seasons (2005, 2011-12). Narain revealed that the project has been in the works for the last 18 months, and he will be involved in ensuring the on-track action is filmed realistically, which will include training the lead actor in the basics of racing. 'Through this story, we want to show Indians can compete in F1. If it could be done 20 years ago, it can be done now, and hopefully, this inspires the next generation of sportspersons and racers,' said Narain.
