The ultimate festival packing list: What to take to Glasto, Reading or Leeds
So, you've snagged a ticket to the festival of the year (or maybe three), and you're already dreaming of glitter, tunes and late-night cheesy chips. But before you get lost in the lineup, let's talk about the actual main stage: your packing list.
Festivals can be a chaotic blend of freedom, music, questionable hygiene, and core memories – but forget one key item and you'll be spiralling before the first headliner hits the stage. Because nothing kills the buzz faster than soggy socks, dead phone batteries or the realisation you forgot toilet roll.
We've been there, done that and learned from our mistakes... So, take note of the following essentials you need to pack for those upcoming festivals (Glastonbury, we're looking @ you). You can thank me later.

Michael J. Fox Will Return to Acting With Guest Role on ‘Shrinking' Season 3
Michael J. Fox will return to on-screen acting for the first time since his retirement in 2020 with a guest role on Season Three of the Apple TV+ show, Shrinking. As Variety reports, specific details about Fox's character and story arc on the critically acclaimed comedy are unknown at the moment. That said, it's possible Fox could be involved in a storyline tied to Harrison Ford's character, Paul, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease early in the show. Fox has been battling Parkinson's for over 30 years, and speech issues related to the disease were the reason he stepped away from acting in 2020. More from Rolling Stone Bono, Denzel Washington, Michael J. Fox to Receive Presidential Medal of Freedom Press Briefing Gets Heated Over Neurologist Visiting White House Coldplay's Record-Breaking Glastonbury Headlining Set Was Brilliant and Bizarre at Once Fox's Shrinking role will find him reuniting with Bill Lawrence, the series co-creator, who also helmed Spin City, the hit sitcom Fox starred in during the late Nineties. (He left the show in 2000 because of his early Parkinson's symptoms.) Fox later had a small guest role on another classic Lawrence sitcom, Scrubs, in 2004. Along with Fox, Shrinking Season Three is set to feature guest appearances from Jeff Daniels, Sherry Cola, and Isabella Gomez. The show's main cast boasts Ford, Jason Segel, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. As for Fox, his last professional on-screen acting role was a two-episode spot on The Good Fight in 2020. The following year, he lent his voice to an animated short, Back Home Again, and appeared in the docuseries, Expedition: Back to the Future, about the search for the DeLorean Time Machine used in the classic film (the series featured Fox's co-star, Christopher Lloyd). In 2023, he appeared in Still: A Michael J. Fox Story, a documentary about his life, career, and Parkinson's battle. And though not technically acting, Fox did appear on a giant stage in June 2024 — Glastonbury, where he played guitar with Coldplay during their headlining set. Last year, Fox said he'd be open to returning to work in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. 'If someone offers me a part and I do it and I have a good time, great,' Fox said. Nilüfer Yanya Announces New EP Dancing Shoes, Reveals New Song 'Where to Look': Stream
The post Nilüfer Yanya Announces New EP Dancing Shoes, Reveals New Song 'Where to Look': Stream appeared first on Consequence. Nilüfer Yanya is back to announce a new EP, Dancing Shoes, set for release on July 2nd. She's also unveiled the new song 'Where to Look.' Dancing Shoes follows Yanya's 2024 album, My Method Actor, which we deemed one of the best releases of the year. Comprised of four new tracks, Dancing Shoes was written and produced with Yanya's close collaborator Wilma Archer during and in between tour dates supporting My Method Actor. The EP also features 'Cold Heart,' which arrived last month. Get Nilüfer Yanya Tickets Here Reprising her raw, spellbinding guitar work and considered attention to mood and atmosphere, 'Where to Look' has all the touchstones of Yanya's dynamic indie rock sound. The song really begins to lift off in the second chorus, where Yanya's guitar stumbles into a wall of fuzzy reverb and provides more power and emotion behind her croons. While the EP it's on is called Dancing Shoes, 'Where to Look' isn't exactly dancefloor-friendly, instead boasting a more introspective tone. Stream the track below. Yanya has a busy 2025 ahead of her; in addition to a busy summer performing at festivals like Glastonbury and London's All Points East, she'll return to North America for a lengthy stretch of shows opening for Alex G. She'll then head back to Europe for a handful of dates opening for Lorde. See her full list of tour dates below, and get tickets to see Nilüfer Yanya here. Dancing Shoes Artwork: Tracklist: 01. Glastonbury 2025: Music Fans Think They've Already Worked Out Who'll Be Doing A Surprise Set
With just weeks to go until this year's Glastonbury gets underway, music fans have been doing some detective work to try and decipher a mysterious act that has suddenly popped up on the line-up. On Tuesday morning, the full list of stage times for the upcoming festival was unveiled – including the presence of an intriguing act that no one seems to have heard of. At 6pm on the Saturday of the festival, the Pyramid Stage will be host to an hour-long set from an act called 'Patchwork', who hadn't previously been announced on the line-up. This put many fans in mind of two years ago, when an unknown band called 'The Churnups' were added to the schedule, later revealing themselves as the Foo Fighters doing a surprise set. And fans on Reddit and X already think they've cracked the code behind Patchwork's secret identity. One Reddit user claimed that Patchwork is the name of a German novel by the author Sylvia Haim, while it's also pointed out that it's also the title of a 2015 horror movie about a Frankenstein monster-esque creation made from the bodies of three women who come together to seek revenge on their killer. Both of these clues seem to point to Haim – the US three-piece made up of sisters Alana, Danielle and Este – making an appearance on the Pyramid Stage this year. Fuelling this is the fact that Haim will already be in the UK on Glastonbury weekend, with a one-off gig in Margate scheduled for the night before their rumoured Worthy Farm set. @glastonbury@secretglasto My literary wife has pointed out that Patchwork is a novel by Sylvia Haim, suggesting the Saturday pyramid slot is none other than @HAIMtheband .... What do you think? # — Tim Street (@Tims_Pants) June 3, 2025 @secretglasto Playing the Pyramid on Saturday 6pm-7pm are Patchwork!!! My guess is that it is Haim!! — David Lamb (@dlambo68) June 3, 2025 Patchwork: new Haim album is called 'I Quit', which isn't a million miles from 'quilt'' — Nicky Sonic (@DeadStarSonics) June 3, 2025 It's also been announced that there are a whopping 56 'TBA' markers on the current Glasto schedule, with everyone from Mumford & Sons and Pulp to Lewis Capaldi rumoured to be making surprise appearances at the festival later this month. Stand-outs on this year's Glastonbury line-up include HuffPost faves like Jade, Scissor Sisters, Charli XCX as well as the likes of The Libertines, The Prodigy and Alanis Morrissette. Olivia Rodrigo, The 1975 and Neil Young will all headline on the Pyramid Stage, while Sir Rod Stewart is due to appear in the coveted Sunday afternoon 'legends' slot.
