Aoun: Stability is gateway to economic recovery
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun stressed that political and security stability is the foundation for Lebanon's economic revival, noting that efforts were underway to solidify this stability in parallel with ongoing reforms. 'Stability is the key to economic recovery,' Aoun said, adding that both enacted reforms and upcoming legislation adopted by Parliament and decisions taken by the Cabinet are part of a broader roadmap for recovery. Separately, President Aoun discussed recovery strategies with former Economic and Social Council president Roger Nasnas and received Marwan Sehnaoui, head of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Lebanon, who shared updates on aid initiatives for Jezzine and southern Lebanon. The president also met with Sheikh Mohammad Ahmad Al-Awad, Mufti of the Lebanese communities in Africa, who relayed diaspora concerns—including calls for stronger diplomatic representation, better consular services, legal protection, and fair handling of expatriate bank deposits. He urged initiatives to rebuild trust and encourage diaspora investment through legal guarantees.

Bisat: Political, security clarity essential for economic recovery
Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Bisat stated on X that Lebanon's economic recovery hinges on achieving political and security clarity. 'Ending hostilities, securing the borders, curbing the informal economy, and consolidating all arms and security responsibilities under official state institutions are preconditions, without which it will be difficult to emerge from our economic crisis,' Bisat wrote. He emphasized that these measures are vital to restoring confidence, reintegrating Lebanon into the Arab economic sphere, attracting capital inflows, encouraging the return of Lebanese talent, and securing funding for reconstruction.

Aoun: Stability is the essential gateway for economic recovery
BEIRUT — Speaking during the "Economic Conference of Emigrants" forum in Baabda on Tuesday, President Joseph Aoun asserted that his government was making efforts to establish the stability necessary for Lebanon's economic recovery and that he was "optimistic" about the results. According to a statement reported by the state-run National News Agency, Aoun said that "stability in Lebanon is the essential gateway to restart the Lebanese economy," and that "efforts are underway to strengthen this stability in parallel with the reforms implemented so far and those that will be carried out in the near future, through the bills adopted by Parliament and the decisions taken by the government." Aoun also expressed his "optimism for the days to come," emphasizing that "the current recovery of the tourism sector, the return of international conferences to the capital, as well as the presence of citizens from Arab countries in general, and Gulf countries in particular, who came to spend the summer in Lebanon, are all signs of confidence indicating that the country is gradually regaining its vitality, as well as its place on the Arab and international stages." Since coming into office in December 2024, Aoun has traveled to several Gulf countries in the hope of attracting investments that could revive an economy mired in a severe, several-year-long socio-economic and financial crisis, brought on by endemic corruption.
