Many new arrivals have buckled under the burden at Old Trafford.
Yet already some are drawing comparisons with Eric Cantona's arrival from Leeds in 1992.
It is easy to see why, as both combine off-the-cuff genius with an on-the-edge attitude that is rarely anything but box office.

Read more: Glasgow school wins Keep Scotland Beautiful's national design challenge CASES Outreach Hubs, including UWS, aim to engage school pupils studying sport and exercise science-related subjects, through activities and an annual poster competition. Ross attended an outreach day of sport science activities at the University of the West of Scotland's Lanarkshire campus in November 2024. Here, he learned about supporting athletes, including those training in extreme environments, identifying and developing talent, and promoting inclusion for athletes with disabilities. Following the day of learning, pupils were tasked with designing a poster summarising their insights on any of these topics. Ross's poster was put forward by UWS and entered into the national competition which saw entries from 32 outreach hubs across the UK. Professor John Dickinson PhD, FCASES, CASES-accredited applied sport scientist, and chair of the CASES outreach panel, said: "This is the second year we have run the CASES school and college poster competition. "This year, we have seen a significant expansion with over 30 CASES outreach hubs engaging with over 100 schools and colleges. "We had a significant number of high-quality posters submitted. "We are delighted with the winning poster that Ross submitted to the CASES school and college poster competition. "The judges were particularly impressed with the use of data at the start that added depth to the content, clear take-home messages, and overall poster design." By winning the overall UK-wide competition, Ross has secured the opportunity for his school to receive a visit from a high-performance athlete. As an enthusiastic runner, he expressed his wish for a Scottish middle-distance runner to visit Strathaven Academy. Ross hopes to involve runners from the local community in the event, as he himself volunteers at his Junior Park Run. CASES is currently open to receive expressions of interest from institutions keen to become an outreach hub and engage pupils aged 14 to 19 studying sport and exercise science-based subjects.

Motherwell 'definitely need some pace' this summer

With the transfer window now open for business for the remainder of the summer, we asked for your views on what new Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou what some of you had to say:Mark: We need depth. Not quantity over quality, but meaningful depth. A solid central defender is a must after Dan Casey's exit. A creative midfielder would also come nicely with the money we should get for Lennon Miller. A new wide player and a striker who's not allergic to goal would also be a step in the right Pace! Tom Sparrow and Tawanda Maswanhise aside, we were too pedestrian going forward and back. If our new manager is true to his word on a preference for pressing, he'll have to get some younger legs in from front to He needs youth and energy in the team, so many last season were going through the Definitely some pace. A must. A goalscorer/poacher, doesn't need to be a great player. Strength in midfield. Suppose a lot will depend on the money coming in for Miller. Maybe some hidden gems the manager is aware of.
