King and Queen to attend events in Edinburgh as Royal Week begins
He will then take part in the Ceremony of the Keys which welcomes him to the Scottish capital.
The Lord Provost Robert Aldridge will present the Keys to the City of Edinburgh to the King, who then returns them for safe keeping.
The King will also preside over an investiture ceremony at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on Tuesday.
Those receiving honours will include artist Barbara Rae, who was awarded a damehood for services to art in the New Year Honours, and Scotland's most decorated Olympian, Duncan Scott, who becomes an OBE for services to swimming.
Swimmer Stephen Clegg, who won two gold medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris and becomes an MBE for services to swimming, will also attend.
The monarch traditionally spends a week based at the Palace of Holyroodhouse each year in what is known as Holyrood Week or Royal Week in Scotland.
Later on Tuesday, the King and Queen will host guests at a garden party at the palace, alongside the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

Anthony Joshua 'on the verge of quitting boxing' if he accepts Jake Paul fight
Former world champion Johnny Nelson believes the only way Anthony Joshua entertains the idea of fighting Jake Paul is if he is looking to cash out and quit the sport. After beating heavyweight legend Mike Tyson last November, Paul returned to the ring at the weekend to seal a points victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Chavez Jr is a former world champion having won the WBC middleweight belt in 2011 but his career has tailed off dramatically over the last six years. In any case, Paul's victory over a legitimate boxer has been regarded as perhaps his biggest yet. 'The Problem Child' is now ranked 14th in the WBA's cruiserweight rankings, making him eligible to fight for their world title currently held by Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez, who also holds the WBO belt. But Paul also his sights on a heavyweight showdown with two-time world champion Joshua. Rather than distance himself from the fight talk, Joshua has fuelled it with Paul claiming on Saturday the fight is 'very likely' to take place at the end of 2026. Joshua meanwhile has not fought since being knocked out by Daniel Dubois last September and was set to undergo elbow surgery in May before a return to the ring later this year. Former cruiserweight champion Nelson insists there are far more pressing matters for Joshua to attend to, with the former Olympian still intent on becoming a three-time world champion with a long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury also still a possibility. While he would be 'very surprised' to see Joshua in the ring with Paul, Nelson believes the right offer at the right time could see them do business. 'AJ will have more pressing matters a hand,' Nelson told Metro. 'If that fight happens I will be very surprised. There's only one scenario I see. If Anthony Joshua is on the verge of quitting and calling it day and says, 'I'll fight Jake Paul as a cash out'. 'He will think to himself he can get in there and knock this kid out no problem, get paid a substantial amount and walk away. That's the only way I can see it happening. But otherwise I can't see it happening.' More Trending Nelson has doubts over Paul's desire to share the ring with Joshua, still one of the most fearsome heavyweights in the sport at 35 years old. 'It is very conceivable, we have seen fighters talk a fight into existence before,' Nelson said. 'It elevates the fighter. Do I think Paul wants the fight? Not in a million years. But he is brilliant media machine and he has done the right thing because that is what everyone is talking about right now. 'But in reality, no I don't think it will happen and I don't think he wants that either. 'We have to give him respect as a young fighter coming through, a young fighter with money who can afford to get the right bodies in the ring that pads out his record. And he can fight now. Rangers name change made official after US takeover and the real impact of move from PLC to LTD is clear
The change has kicked in following a shareholder vote at the EGM last month The holding company of Rangers has officially changed it's name in the wake of the blockbuster US takeover. The Scottish Premiership giants have traded as 'The Rangers International Football Club PLC' since November 2012. However, the company will now be know as 'Rangers International Football Club Limited' as part of the new era under chairman Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers enterprises – led by vice chairman Paraag Marathe The change was voted through at the club's upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) which is scheduled for last month at the Doubletree Hilton in Glasgow after receiving the 75 per cent approval required to pass the motion. That changes have now officially kicked in with the Companies House listing for the club changing - with a certificate of re-registration from Public Limited Company to private shared by the government. Rangers have not been publicly listed on the stock exchange despite their PLC status over the last 13 years. As they have become an LTD company, shares cannot be offered to the public which offers an added layer of control for the US consortium as they ramp up their overhaul of the club. The changes are becoming clear on the pitch with new boss Russell Martin landing a transfer kitty with Max Aarons the first player in the door this summer. The Bournemouth loanee is set to be followed by Joe Rothwell as he nears the end of his Cherries' contract - having spent last season on loan at 49ers owned Leeds United - with Conor Coady also on the agenda. Andy Little: Rangers can't afford to lose Nicolas Raskin this summer
Rangers should be doing all they can to keep midfielder Nicolas Raskin at Ibrox this season. That's the view of Andy Little, who believes Raskin is one player that would be too difficult to replace for the upcoming campaign as they look to challenge Celtic at the top of the table. The Belgium international was voted Rangers' Player of the Year last season and has recently burst into the international scene, making him one of the club's most valuable assets. The 24-year-old has two years remaining on his contract at Ibrox, and, while he acknowledges the need for Scottish clubs to sell their biggest assets when the time is right, Little believes Russell Martin can't afford to lose Raskin just yet. He said: 'I know it's a business, and you have to try and cash in on players at the right time, and I think both sides of the Old Firm are looking to do that, Celtic have certainly done it better than Rangers. 'That is the business model now, however, you can't go losing your best players, especially considering there are so few ready to step into that position this season. 'So I don't think they should (consider selling), it would need to be serious money to let him go.' Max Aarons was Russell Martin's first signing as Rangers manager, with the right-back joining on a season-long loan from Bournemouth. Lyall Cameron has also joined on a pre-contract agreement from Dundee, while Oscar Cortes has turned his loan into a permanent deal. And Little believes they have to be the first of many additions. He said: 'I think you are talking five or six maybe, at least five out-and-out starters. 'There hasn't been that strong nucleus of tried and tested players, who have been there and done it and won games, there hasn't been that for five or six years, and Rangers need to find that, and find it very quickly.' Martin's first competitive match, against Panathinaikos in a Champions League qualifier, is less than four weeks away.
