With over 250 wineries across San Luis Obispo County, vineyards have long been a go-to summer spot for adults.
But now parents no longer have to scramble to find a babysitter if they hope to enjoy a glass of wine.
Many SLO County wineries are embracing a family-friendly approach, turning what was once a 21-plus activity into a family outing.
In a new list, Yelp recently rated the top family-friendly wineries across SLO County. Here they are:
With its fairy tale white and green tones, Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards will make visitors feel right at home.
Parents and other adults can enjoy estate chardonnay or pinot noir, while kids and non-drinkers can order a selection of non-alcoholic beverages, according to the website.
The winery has yard games including ladder ball and giant Jenga to entertain the kids. But the real highlight? Over 200 peacocks wander the grounds. Visitors can even buy food for the peacocks, making the whole visit more fun and interactive.

Nestled among rolling green hills, Saucelito Canyon Vineyards offers a charming, family-friendly wine tasting experience. Guests can sample wines at nearly 30 scenic spots across the property, with tastings priced at $25 per person, according to the vineyard's website.
While adults enjoy wine and charcuterie, visitors under 21 can sip on a mocktail. Younger children can stay entertained with coloring pages while parents enjoy the car-free garden and private orchard, both of which create a safe space for young kids to explore, said general manager Katharine Taylor.
'We also provide complimentary juice boxes and Goldfish for kids to enjoy alongside their parents as their own pairing,' Taylor said.
The vineyard is hosting special events this summer, including live music with no age restrictions. For the Fourth of July, it is planning old-fashioned lawn games and a 'kid-friendly' food menu through local restaurant partnerships, Taylor said.

Sextant offers tasting experiences in both their Edna Valley and Paso Robles locations, each with its own distinct charm.
In Paso Robles, families are welcomed by a dramatic stone arch and ancient oaks that frame the vineyard. Meanwhile, the Edna Valley location invites visitors into a historic building bordering the region's oldest vineyard, according to the winery's website. At the on-site Gourmet Deli, children can enjoy a variety of snacks like flatbreads, quesadillas and cookies.

Amid ample outdoor space, kids have the freedom to explore while parents unwind with a flight of Talley Vineyards' signature wines.
Every Sunday this summer, the vineyard hosts a family-friendly live music series, complete with lawn games like giant Jenga, according to tasting room manager, Juliana Neel.
When the kids are ready to settle down, they can enjoy complimentary coloring pages and a sparkling water, Neel said. To pair with any drinks, families can also snack on hummus or cheese boards.

At Croma Vera Wines, kids are kept happily entertained with a 'fun emergency kit' stocked with matchbox cars and corks, giving parents the chance to relax during their tasting, according to the winery.
'It takes a certain kind of winery to appreciate kids,' co-owner Chris Steins said.
Families can lounge outside on the patio, enjoying a selection of wines, chocolate and charcuterie boards.

With nearly 50 sculptures scattered across its grounds, Sculpterra Winery feels as much like an outdoor art museum as a vineyard, said tasting room manager David Alcott.
Families can spread out at a picnic table for free to enjoy the spacious setting. Bottles of wine are available for purchase at the bar, where guests can borrow glasses to enjoy during their visit, Alcott said.
The winery is also dog-friendly, making it welcoming to the whole family. Kids can stay entertained with games like ping pong and bocce ball while parents lounge at shaded picnic tables.

Family-owned and operated, Peacock Cellars welcomes families with open arms.
A few times each month, the winery plans live music where kids are free to dance and play, according to the winery's website. It also has a farmstand with baked goods like cookies and cakes and fresh produce including tomatoes and basil.

At Eberle Winery, weekends are all about family. Every Saturday, the winery hosts complimentary barbecues and encourages families to bring along their dogs for a relaxing experience, office manager Sue Terry said.
On Sunday evenings, the vibe continues with family-friendly live music, lawn games and pizza trucks, turning Eberle Winery into the perfect family outing. It also expanded its Sunday hours to 8 p.m. to help guests stave off the 'Sunday scaries.'
'They like the grounds here,' Terry said. 'It is perfect for kids.'
With a sprawling lawn, kids are welcome to play games like cornhole or relax with their parents and a complimentary coloring book. For a break from the sun, families can tour 16,800 square feet of underground wine caves, according to the website

One of two locations, Hearst Ranch Winery is nestled in both Paso Robles' rolling hills, dotted with vineyards and oak trees, and along the North Coast overlooking the ocean at San Simeon.
In Paso Robles, a gathering of chairs and couches are shaded by a grove of olive trees, building a calm, relaxing environment for families to connect.
Visitors can get a peak of the grape-growing and wine-making process while observing the vineyards from the patio, according to the winery's website.
