SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe Mayor Alan Webber is touting the success he's seeing in addressing homelessness. In 2019, Santa Fe joined a coalition called Built for Zero, which is a national movement where city officials try to build enough housing for their homeless population so that zero people are left without homes. A unique way they continue to address homelessness is by learning the names and history of the city's homeless population. 'When you know their names, you work with them individually to get the solution that fits their needs,' said Mayor Webber.
The city is looking for more properties to implement micro-communities.

Monday, June 2 forecast: Threat of strong storms and flooding return

The current quiet spell will come to an end Tuesday with bouts of rain and thunder throughout the rest of the week. Warm and humid conditions have filled the area, priming the region for heavy rainfall. A Flood Watch has been posted for some of the Ozarks from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. For tonight, we can expect mostly clear skies and balmy breezes through the evening. Clouds will increase late tonight with a chance for scattered showers by sunrise Tuesday, mainly near and north of I-44. This first wave of showers will quickly fade, with skies becoming partly cloudy and temperatures climbing back into the 80s. By late in the afternoon, strong to severe storms will break out across Kansas into Northern Missouri. This band of rain and thunder will gradually shift southeast Tuesday evening with a threat of heavy rainfall and a few severe thunderstorms. Strong winds and spotty hail are possible, along with an isolated tornado. The tornado risk looks limited, and primarily with storms late Tuesday afternoon into the evening north of I-44. The band of rain and thunder will slowly shift southeast through Wednesday morning. The slow push southeast will result in a stripe of very heavy rainfall, mainly along and north of I-44, where 1 to 3″ is expected with locally higher amounts. Rain amounts will quickly fall off to the south of I-44. The leftover band of clouds and showers will persist into Wednesday afternoon, keeping much of the Ozarks much milder. Additional scattered showers and thunderstorms will flare up heading into Wednesday afternoon, mainly near and south of I-44. The front will lift back to the north on Thursday. Warm and humid weather will contribute to another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening. Locally heavy rainfall and an isolated severe storm or two are possible. A bigger wave of rain and thunder is expected to sweep through the region Friday. This round may arrive early in the day and depart during the afternoon. Heavy rainfall is likely, and this wave of storms could also bring a round of severe weather. Friday's wave of storms may be able to nudge the front back to the south, pushing the focus for scattered weekend showers and thunderstorms to the south. 2nd arrest made in connection to missing French Bulldog ‘Julio'
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A second arrest has been made in connection to the theft of a French Bulldog, court records show. 20-year-old Tahari Taylor was booked into the Mecklenburg County Detention Center on May 30 and charged with felony possession of stolen goods. According to an affidavit, on April 6, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to the 3000 block of Barrow Road in reference to a stolen vehicle. Inside the vehicle was the victim's French Bulldog 'Julio'. MORE | The car was found on April 11, and a juvenile was charged, but Julio was still missing. While investigators were investigating an unrelated incident, data from a cell phone was reviewed and found to contain evidence from this case. The phone data contained text messages between two people on April 7, less than 24 hours after the victim's car and dog were stolen. The text stated that Taylor had the dog and was bringing it to the co-defendant's home. Further evidence on the phone confirmed that the dog and vehicle belonged to the victim. There were also photos and videos of the victim's car and dog. On May 14, a 37-year-old woman, Kendra Hunter, was also charged with felony possession of stolen goods in relation to this case. Both are being charged with felonies because the dog is worth $5,000. Court documents say that the dog's owner contacted investigators on May 1 to say that Hunter called her about the dog. It was communicated that the dog 'may be with someone's uncle who breeds French Bulldogs.' Investigators also reviewed Hunter's teenage son's cellphone, finding a photo of Julio that was taken at their home less than a day after the dog was stolen. Wednesday starts off mostly sunny and hazy, but as the next could front approaches central Ohio changes will begin. More clouds are going to build up as the day goes on, but conditions will remain rainless for now. Get ready for the heat with highs in the upper 80s. Next chance for showers and storms returns Wednesday night into Thursday This system will become stationary by the time is arrives to central Ohio. This means that showers and thunderstorms will occur on and off through the end of the workweek and some of the weekend.
