The Time Capsule in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, was named as the country's best waterpark.
It boasts a 25m swimming pool, a Tsunami wavepool, and a Riptide River.
And the leisure complex includes a fully equipped gym, an ice rink and a soft play area.
Time Out said: "Glasgow might not be the first location that springs to mind when you think of waterparks, but at the Time Capsule, they have some unique rides.

"The Tornado Tantrum flue is so large you could fit a Mini Cooper inside, so there's plenty of room for you and four mates to whizz down together.
"There's also a ten-metre-high Storm Chaser: twin flumes named Thunder and Lightning, where you can challenge a friend and see who comes out first."
The Time Capsule is currently undergoing essential upgrades to its water feature systems, which include new control panels, electrical repairs and pump replacements.
The upgrades began in March and are expected to take up to six months, meaning the waterpark is likely to be closed for most of the summer.

But the gym, ice rink, and swimming pool remains open during this time.
Councillor Geraldine Woods, North Lanarkshire Council Convener of Communities, said: 'We know our loyal customers will be disappointed to hear that the waterpark will close for a few months, but the upgrades will guarantee its long-term future.

'We carried out a detailed survey of the waterpark, which highlighted certain areas requiring improvement. In order to complete these, the waterpark will need to close for between four and six months.'
The Time Capsule attracts over 700,000 visitors each year and remains one of Lanarkshire's most popular attractions.

Fusion Interior Design reopens its doors to the public with a new store in Cascais
Founded in 2007 (where Nicolau now stands), Fusion Interior Design reopened its doors to the public in Cascais in mid-June. Since the pandemic, the architecture and interior design firm had operated solely from an atelier and showroom in the town. "At the time, we were juggling many projects and had long wanted to focus on just an atelier. But Portugal and Cascais are buzzing right now, so it made perfect sense to reconnect with the public", the company's founders, designers Maria Ana Noronha and Teresa Matos Correia, told Time Out. They're now joined by Teresa Lopes Ferreira, who leads the new store. 'We had many clients who would visit us and say they were sorry we had closed the shop. Often, someone wants to do a project but ends up just buying a piece – a chair or a lamp. We missed that closeness, that contact with people. Being closed for four years in our little bubble really showed us that', they add. Now housed in a fully renovated former barbecue joint – done by the team themselves, naturally – the new space showcases furniture, lamps, ceramics, cushions, lampshades, rugs, fabrics and wallpapers. There are pieces from international brands like Élitis, Pierre Frey and James Malone, alongside Portuguese labels such as Bárbara Osório fabrics, traditional Menezes blankets, Pladec wall coverings, and rugs from Ferreira de Sá and Sugo. In the 100-square-metre shop – complete with a corner dedicated to all things made in Portugal – you'll also find pieces designed by Fusion Interior Design for their own projects. Think the Book lamp, created for the boutique hotel Dream Guincho; the Fantasma shelves for Joaquim Chaves Saúde; or the Ouriço lamp made for the M'ar Puro Hotel in Ericeira. Since day one, the company has maintained a strong focus on sustainable, eco-friendly design and on championing Portuguese talent. 'We value national talent, working closely with Portuguese artists, artisans and suppliers, helping to promote what's made in Portugal. Many of our pieces are designed in-house, always with a focus on bespoke design that aims to reflect the unique identity of each person and each space', they explain. The new shop also features a private studio space, where the designers can meet with clients and work on their projects – an intimate, tucked-away room designed to spark creativity and encourage the free flow of ideas. As the company is very much centred around the work developed by its founders, they admit they don't have overly ambitious plans for the future. An expansion of Fusion Interior Design isn't currently on the table, but they're open to the idea of running pop-ups in other parts of the country. 'Last year, we did a pop-up in Tavira – it was a really fun adventure. That's not to say we wouldn't consider doing the same elsewhere in Portugal'.

What to eat, drink and do in London this weekend (August 2-3)
Welcome back to The Slice! With the weather cooling down recently, you might be tempted to get on the first flight out of the UK to a much sunnier location (we've definitely thought about it). But hold your horses. Just in time for the pub garden weather making a comeback next week, we've rounded up a few places in London that have that holiday feeling. Save yourself the cost of a flight to Mykonos and head down to PYRO for earthy decor and fresh sea bream crudo. Or take a dip in the infinity pool at Battersea Power Station or experience the Costa Del Croydon (yes, Croydon has a beach!). We're telling you how you can get your hands on some of the best deals, including free oysters. Read on for a whole range of recommendations for 2-3 August in London, handpicked as always by The Slice. If you're looking for something to do this weekend, here are 8 of the best activities, dining, and drinking spots in the capital. By Beatrice Aidin 'The smoked salmon of the heavens,' I sigh. I'm at London's finest fish restaurant, Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill, as the softest most delicate fish served with potato blinis and horseradish transports us to the skies above (indeed, the salmon is smoked on the restaurant's roof). It's magical watching the oyster shuckers a'shucking behind the bar (Want to join them? Bentley's hosts an Oyster Masterclass every Saturday at 10:30am) as we continue the new set menu with butter poached smoked haddock and spiced brown crab rice, fresh as fish can be. Brightwell Ash cheese soufflé with asparagus is so divine, angels would be reaching for their trumpets. Established in 1916, this year Bentley's celebrates Richard Corrigan's 20th year as chef/patron. One of the world's best chefs and most generous, he and his team made 4,000 lockdown breakfasts for homeless people. This is creative, yet comforting cooking – the chef is no fan of the tweezer. Best finished with coffee on the large terrace, a meal at Bentley's is like a beautiful culinary holiday from the city. Two courses, £35. Three courses, £39. Daily 12 to 3.30pm, 4.30 to 6.30pm. 11-15 Swallow St, Piccadilly, W1B 4DG. Book here. Some of the best oyster deals in London this National Oyster Week Dive into Dickie's Bar in Mayfair and order a cocktail to get an oyster on the house. Offer available 5 August. Book here. You can get £1 a pop oysters all year round at Wright Brothers on Monday-Friday and Sunday 4-6pm, and at The Mermaid Thursday-Saturday 6-7pm. Book in advance here, this deal gets pretty popular! Mermaid, an Isle of Wight distilled spirit, will also be taking over the Wright Brothers Battersea terrace with a selection of curated coastal cocktails this summer. Get some cracking oyster deals at The Libertine, including a glass of Rathfinny English Sparkling Wine and two oysters for £10, and a pint of Guinness and two oysters for £10. Available 3-5pm, 4-8 August. See the full menu here. Head over to Little Bat Bar in Islington for a Carlingford Rock Oyster with Bresaola XO Sauce. It's just £1 everyday from 5–8pm with any drink order until 9 August. Find out more. By Courtney Pochin Fat drops of rain pelt the Grand Union Canal but two diners refuse to give up their table beside the water's edge. They huddle under a parasol, sheltering a bottle of wine and several small plates. Despite the weather, staff at Canal dash back and forth from the restaurant to serve them – it's both an impressive commitment to hospitality and utterly ludicrous. The place has been open for less than a month, but terms like 'must-visit' are already being banded around. Is it? I don't think I'd go quite that far, but it is a great date night spot, with industrial-chic interiors and an interesting menu. Dishes like the stuffed corno pepper, the perlina aubergine, and mangalitza sausage are tasty, but not life-changing. Highlights include the olive oil negroni, grilled peaches with stracciatella and walnuts, and summer tomatoes which pair nicely with Layla sourdough and smoked butter. Top tip: skip the table cheeseburger and finish with a tiramisu to share. Hear more of Courtney's thoughts about Canal on her TikTok. Small plates from £8, big plates from £16. 11b Woodfield Rd, Westbourne Park, W9 2BA. Book here. Best for: a chic poolside escape You might not know that art'otel has an infinity pool overlooking Battersea Power Station, and it looks like it belongs in paradise. Even better news is it's heated, so no need to worry about those unpredictable overcast days. You don't have to be a guest to experience it, as right now you can make a splash at Aqua Aerobics up until November. art'otel London Battersea Power Station. Tickets from £25 with a complimentary hot drink or a juice and a delectable pastry at TOZI Counter. Book tickets for Aqua Aerobics here. Best for: Mykonos vibes Mykonos or London Bridge? And if it wasn't for the big red London bus in the picture giving it away, you'd probably believe us if we told you we took the picture in Greece. PYRO is the new restaurant and bar 'with Greek soul', earthy decor and bamboo lanterns. It's buzzy, cosy and has a menu of stars – including spanakopita, with fragrant herbs and barrel aged feta and a citrus-y sea bream crudo. Save yourself the flight and book yourself into PYRO. Grazing from £4.50, bigger plates from £14. London Bridge. Book here. Best for: the holiday feeling where you'll least expect it This urban beach is back and it's promising you that holiday feeling from a car park in south west London. Centrale in Croydon is turning into Costa Del Croydon for the whole of August. In 2025, it's been freshened up with quiet chilled zone for some relaxation, new food vendors, live music and more. Tickets, free. Released weekly on 25 July, 1 August, 8 August, 15 August, 22 August. Paradise Soho. Find out more. This award-winning cocktail bar makes the best margarita in London, according to cocktail experts
Spicy marg girls, tequila lovers, and wannabe mixologists: pay attention. London's most knowledgeable bar proprietors have just named the best margarita in the city. Time Out asked seven experts in the industry – including Mr Lyan of Seed Library and Lyaness, Tayer + Elementary 's Monica Berg, and co-owner of Three Sheets Max Venning – where they would go to sip the capital's very best margarita. According to the experts, you can get your hands on London's top marg at Satan's Whiskers. The Bethnal Green cocktail spot is a longtime favourite with the city's drinkers; the modish drinking den, filled with 2015 hipster era taxidermy, is known as one of the best places in the capital for proper, high-quality mixed drinks. 'Classic cocktails are the speciality at Satan's Whiskers, they are always on point.' said Carina Soto Velásquez, co-owner of Hackney listening bar Equal Parts. Stephanie Randle-Solley from Walthamstow brewery Exale also named Satan's Whiskers as London's best margarita. 'I always order a Tommy's,' she said. 'Or I would sit at the bar and get the bartender to make me whatever kind of margarita they want. 'I love that you can sit at the bar, open a tab and just keep ordering drinks – it feels like you're in New York.' As for the runners up for the best margarita in London, Trailer Happiness, a Notting Hill tiki bar was recommended by Monica Berg; Dalston agave spirit specialist Hacha was nominated by Mr Lyan; and Max Venning named Side Hustle at the Nomad Hotel as the home of London's best marg. Swift's Coral Anderson chose swanky South Bank spot Lyaness. And last but not least was the minimalist Old Street hangout , nominated by Missy Flynn and Gabriel Pryce from Rita's.
