Gianluigi Donnarumma with the UEFA Champions League trophy after PSG's victory over Inter in the final (Photo by) Gianluigi Donnarumma has confirmed he is leaving Paris Saint-Germain after being dropped from the squad for Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup final against Tottenham. His omission came hours after PSG named new signing Lucas Chevalier, along with Matvei Safonov and Renato Marin, in their goalkeeping lineup. Chevalier's arrival from Lille for over €40 million had already hinted at a change in the No. 1 role. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team's success,' Donnarumma wrote on Instagram. 'I am disappointed and disheartened.' The Italy international also thanked supporters: 'I hope to have the opportunity to look the fans at the Parc des Princes in the eyes one more time and say goodbye as it should be done.' Coach Luis Enrique praised Donnarumma's quality but explained his reasoning for the change. 'Donnarumma is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, without a doubt, and even better as a person. However, this is the life of a top-level footballer, and I am 100% responsible for this difficult decision. If it were easy, anyone would do it. These decisions have to do with the profile of the goalkeeper my team needs,' he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Can Mental Illness be the Key to Their Creativity? 'I understand the need to buy a new goalkeeper, but dismissing Gigio after everything he's done for the club is a huge lack of respect that I will assess with my lawyers. Beyond the fact that it was the coach who made this decision, he also works for the club, and my lawyers and I want to better understand their position,' Raiola told Sky Italy. India's scientific and technological landscape pacing toward global leadership
India's scientific and technological landscape is rapidly pacing toward global leadership, according to a report. From being just a global peripheral player in technology, India is now way ahead in advancements like quantum computing, agri-tech, space research, and clean energy, noted the report in India Narrative. The country is building 'a future where innovation is both the engine and the export'. A perfect example is the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) reaching 32 PetaFlops. The Inter-University Accelerator Centre's (IUAC) 3-PetaFlop system has the potential to address climate modeling and genome sequencing. Another is the National Quantum Mission (NQM), with a budget of Rs 6,003.65 crore. It aims to indigenously develop hardware and algorithms. Similarly, with the BharatGen LLM project, India is leveraging Artificial intelligence to address the country's unique linguistic diversity. The technological advancement is also reflected in India's climb in the Global Innovation Index (now 39th) and its ranking as 6th in global IP filings. 'It shows the health of the innovation ecosystem: the patent culture, R&D intensity, and investor confidence,' the report said. Furthermore, the upcoming Gaganyaan human spaceflight programme and the recently launched NISAR satellite, aimed at taking high-resolution Earth scans, showcase India's prowess in the space sector. 'Looking forward, the planned Bharatiya Antariksh Station by 2035 and the stated goal of lunar landings by 2040 suggest that India's space strategy is no longer reactive but generational. If the last decade was about proving capability, the next will be about shaping the architecture of global space governance,' the report said. Meanwhile, with over 70 per cent of Indian farms projected to use bio-enhanced seeds, the country's agri-tech story is also transformative. The move is expected to be a game-changer for food security and climate resilience. About 40 per cent of farms have also adopted precision agriculture, leading to "up to 25 per cent higher yields, with 20-30 per cent lower water and fertiliser use", the report said. The country has also expanded significantly into geospatial science by training over 6,000 students in spatial thinking across seven states. It can lead to mapping, data visualisation, and environmental modeling becoming everyday skills, enabling disaster planning and urban development, the report said.

Plans afoot to develop over 13,000 km of roads: Telangana DY CM Bhatti
HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said that the state government has decided to develop 13,137 km of roads — 7,947 km under Panchayat Raj department and 5,190 km under R&B department in 17 packages. The government will soon call for tenders for these road projects and start the works at the earliest, he added. The deputy CM was speaking at the 'Telangana Road Development Programme Roadshow Hybrid Annuity Model' meeting organised jointly by Panchayat Raj and R&B departments at HICC in Hyderabad to financially encourage contractors and bankers. Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Panchayat Raj Minister Dansari Anasuya alias Seethakka also attended the meeting. Stating that the state government was aware of the problems being faced by the contractors, Vikramarka explained: 'The previous government had entered into several agreements for development works worth `1.75 lakh crore and it also issued tokens for works worth `45,000 crore. However, it failed to clear those dues, leaving behind a financial burden on the present government.' 'With the chief minister, ministers, and government secretaries focusing on resolving this matter, the financial situation is gradually improving and the government is working to overcome the difficulties faced by contractors,' he added. The deputy CM said that the Congress government considers contractors, industrialists and investors as partners in wealth creation. 'In view of the growing traffic problems, there is a need to upgrade some roads into four-lane roads,' he said and instructed the officials to prepare the list of roads that need attention at the earliest and place it before the state Cabinet for approval. He said that the government will contribute 40 per cent of funds for HAM roads and is in the process of mobilising necessary resources. Small contractors will be given opportunities in HAM road works, he asserted.
