UAE Calls Out Pakistan, Says ‘We Don't Stand With Terror-Sheltering Nations'; Joins India's Stand
Abu Dhabi: In a positive outcome of India's diplomatic global outreach post Operation Sindoor, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in a powerful message, declared it would never side with nations – which shelter terrorists. It is a direct snub to Pakistan.
The statement came following an all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde exposed Pakistan's long-standing terror agenda while meeting UAE's top leadership.
During the meeting with Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, director-general of the UAE's National Media Office, the Indian delegation highlighted how Pakistan has repeatedly targeted India through orchestrated terror attacks from the 26/11 Mumbai massacre to the recent Pahalgam tragedy.
Shinde told ANI that Kaabi was firm in condemning terrorism and made it clear that the UAE 'won't stand with terror organisations or a country which shelters terrorists'.
'They knew about Mumbai, Pathankot, Pulwama. They did not need an explanation. Innocents were killed in Pahalgam too. Their message was simple – the UAE can never stand with such terrorist organisations or any nation that harbours them,' Shinde said.
The strong message was echoed in meetings with Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, chairman of the defence committee and minister of tolerance, Sheikh Nahayan.
'We had a very fruitful meeting. The UAE gave a clear-cut message: they are standing with India, shoulder to shoulder, in the fight against terrorism,' Shinde said.
He further highlighted the importance of UAE's support and called it symbolic and crucial. 'Just like India, the UAE is a diverse country. Their support for minorities and the peaceful coexistence they maintain makes their stand even more significant,' he said.
Shinde said that the UAE's alignment with India sends a strong regional message. 'They made it clear – terrorism cannot be allowed to grow under the garb of religion. Their ministers were crystal clear in their stand. This support matters for both nations and our shared neighbourhood.'
He added that terrorism today is not just India's problem, it is an attack on global humanity.
'UAE is the first to condemn the attack on India. This is not just about India anymore. It is about global peace and about humanity. And today, the world is watching who stands where,' he concluded.

Kashmir rail link to boost economy, tourism: Bizmen
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the much-awaited 272km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, built at a cost of ₹43,780 crore, on the eve of Eid on Friday, he will be opening all-weather connectivity between Kashmir and the rest of the country that would be a gamechanger for the Valley's economy, particularly tourism and horticulture. The rail link project, which includes 36 tunnels (spanning 119km) and 943 bridges, is set to transform regional mobility and drive socio-economic integration besides generating jobs for local residents. The Jammu and Kashmir administration termed it a milestone as Indian Railways will be connected up to Baramulla, the last town in J&K. 'This link besides ferrying passengers will be used to transport apples, cherries, saffron and handicrafts to major markets in the country. It will also give a fillip to tourism as there will be improved access to destinations, including Pahalgam and Gulmarg. It will definitely be a gamechanger,' a senior J&K government official said. The horticulture sector forms 8% of Jammu and Kashmir's GDP. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat train, connecting Srinagar to the national capital from Katra in Jammu. Earlier, the inauguration was scheduled for April 19, but it was postponed due to inclement weather followed by the Pahalgam terror attack of April 22 and Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries former president Sheikh Ashiq said: 'Finally, Srinagar has been connected by rail. It will help people of Kashmir in many ways, particularly those related to tourism, horticulture, handicrafts and other businesses.' Another businessman, Omar Tibetbakal, said the rail link will help all sectors of Kashmir. 'Now there should be a direct train between Srinagar and Delhi,' he said. Earlier, the train used to run between Baramulla in Kashmir and Sangaldan in Jammu province. Now with all the tunnels and stretches complete, the rail will run between Srinagar and other parts of the country. Gazi Latief, a tourist guide from Budgam, termed it a big moment that will boost tourism, while Malik Adil, a Srinagar-based wholesale fruit trader, said: 'We will now be able to ferry fruit consignments by rail that will save time. This is a big gift to fruit growers.' The Vande Bharat train will pass through picturesque destinations and the world's highest railway arch bridge on the Chenab. The train will complete its journey from Delhi to Srinagar in 13 hours. It will stop at six places and will be the first train between Delhi and Srinagar. However, officials say there will be a change of trains at Katra.

Why China Is Quietly Panicking Over A Pakistani Missile Found In India
New Delhi: In the fog of the brief but intense May 6-7 India-Pakistan air stand-off, a single smoking clue has emerged – one that is now causing serious heartburn in Beijing. Fragments of a Chinese-made PL-15E beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile, launched by Pakistan's Air Force during the clash, were recovered by Indian authorities near Kamahi Devi village in Punjab's Hoshiarpur. This was not only any wreckage. The debris was largely intact, including its dual-pulse motor, datalink, inertial navigation system and the crown jewel (AESA radar seeker). India is now in possession of the brain and engine of China's most advanced air-to-air missile. And that is a nightmare scenario for Beijing. India's Operation Sindoor saw dozens of Rafales, Sukhoi-30MKIs and Mirages take the skies loaded with Meteor missiles, SCALP cruise weapons and Hammer bombs. Pakistan retaliated with Chinese-supplied J-10Cs and JF-17s, armed with the PL-15E – a radar-guided missile with a range upwards of 200 km. It was one of these missiles – fired in anger at Indian aircraft – that ended up in Indian territory, almost fully intact. Suddenly, China's hush-hush missile technology is in the labs of India's DRDO. Global powers are watching closely. World Wants a Piece of the Debris According to defence sources, the Five Eyes alliance (the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand) along with Japan and South Korea have all informally requested access to the missile's remains. Their target? The AESA seeker and dual-pulse propulsion tech – hallmarks of China's push to outpace Western missile systems. The incident, though underplayed in Chinese state media, is causing major alarm within the PLA's defence ecosystem. Developed by AVIC and showcased as China's answer to the American AIM-120D and European Meteor, the PL-15E has now been exposed in real combat and worse compromised. For Indian defence scientists, it is a rare windfall. With critical components in hand, India's missile development programmes like the Astra Mk II could get a serious boost, especially in radar jamming resistance, seeker tech and extended range propulsion. Not just that – Indian engineers could now cross-check the effectiveness of China's vaunted missile under real conditions and possibly expose weaknesses that even the PLA may not want to admit. Beijing Responds… Carefully China's defence ministry has been measured in its words. Spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang avoided direct comment on the missile's failure or capture. Instead, he called for calm, saying, 'India and Pakistan are neighbours who cannot be moved… China is willing to play a constructive role.' But he did, notably, confirm that the PL-15E was used – marking its first operational deployment. According to SIPRI, a staggering 81% of Pakistan's arms imports now come from China, up from 74% a few years ago. This includes more than half its fighter jets (JF-17s, J-10Cs), missile systems like the PL-15E, air defence systems and satellite capabilities. Reports even indicate that China rushed new PL-15E missiles to Pakistan at the peak of the May conflict – part of Beijing's support to its 'iron brother'. What Happens Now? The missile debris is a trophy as well as a strategic liability for China, a tech boon for India and a milestone in South Asia's arms race. It also marks a shift – wars now may not need territorial invasion. They can be fought remotely through missiles, drones, radars and secrets buried in missile wreckage. China's weapon has spoken but not in the way Beijing hoped.
