Mohammed bin Rashid visits Arabian Travel Market 2025
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, toured the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, which concludes today at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum affirmed that the UAE is committed to playing a constructive global role in expanding opportunities, promoting inclusive growth, and shaping a future of shared prosperity. This vision is rooted in the nation's founding principles of meaningful engagement, authentic partnerships, and open dialogue, driving global progress and improving lives around the world.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid affirmed that the UAE, guided by the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, remains committed to strengthening its economy and tourism sector through continued investment in world-class infrastructure that delivers exceptional services to travelers. The nation's airports are projected to welcome around 150 million passengers this year.
He noted that the participation of 166 countries and 55,000 travel and tourism professionals at ATM 2025 highlights the UAE's growing presence on the global tourism map and the rising confidence in its contributions to this vital sector.
He also pointed to the strong performance of the tourism industry, which welcomed a record 30.7 million international visitors in 2024, with total spending reaching around AED250 billion.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid praised the efforts of those who have helped strengthen the UAE's position as a leading global destination for opportunities. He noted that exhibitions are not merely seasonal events but key drivers of growth and platforms for fostering partnerships that support the global economy. He emphasised the UAE's commitment to creating an environment that encourages collaboration, ensures success, and shapes a future focused on quality of life and positive global connections.
During the tour, His Highness was accompanied by H.H. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; H.H Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group; and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the Emirates and flydubai pavilions, reviewing their expansion plans and growth strategies, which aim to strengthen Dubai's position as a global aviation hub.
At flydubai's pavilion, CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith briefed His Highness on the airline's efforts to strengthen its role in budget aviation, which led to record results in 2024, its best performance since launching 15 years ago.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid also visited the Emirates Tourism Council pavilion, where Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Council, provided an overview of efforts to enhance tourism competitiveness across the seven emirates in alignment with the 'We the UAE 2031' vision.
Also accompanying His Highness on the tour were Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; and Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Almarri, Director-General of Dubai's General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs.
Bringing together professionals and leaders from across the global travel sector, including leisure, business events, luxury, and corporate travel, ATM 2025 features a record 2,800 exhibitors from 166 countries and is expected to welcome 55,000 attendees.

Ministry of Economy, Dubai Police partner to strengthen cooperation
The Ministry of Economy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Police General Command to strengthen cooperation and coordination in developing compliance mechanisms for anti-money laundering (AML) and combatting the financing of terrorism (CFT) requirements. The agreement facilitates the exchange and integration of information between the two entities, thus enhancing supervisory roles within the national legislative framework. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the fourth edition of the World Police Summit, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The agreement was signed by Safia Hashim Al Safi, Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Control and Governance at the Ministry of Economy, and Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police. Safia Al Safi emphasised that the UAE has made significant strides in developing advanced strategies, policies, and legislation to combat money laundering and terrorism financing in line with the highest international standards. This has further reinforced the national economy's position as a competitive trade and business hub committed to the highest standards of integrity and transparency. He noted that the partnership with Dubai Police aligns with the Ministry's vision to enhance collaboration with federal and local entities, thereby strengthening the national framework and developing mechanisms to combat financial crimes and enhance regulatory infrastructure in accordance with relevant international standards. Counselor Salem Al Tunaiji, Director of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Department at the Ministry of Economy, explained that the MoU provides advanced mechanisms for technical and security coordination between the Ministry and Dubai Police. This includes the exchange of data related to money laundering and terrorism financing crimes, aligning with the Ministry's role in supervising Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) and identifying the real beneficial owners of legal entities. Under the scope of the MoU, both parties will collaborate on developing integrated mechanisms and programs to elevate risk response efficiency related to suspicious financial activities within the DNFBP sector, which include real estate agents and brokers, traders of precious metals and stones, auditors, and company service providers. This will be realised through the exchange of data on suspicious transactions and activities and the activation of secure and effective institutional communication channels to ensure the swift exchange of confidential data in line with the approved legal and regulatory frameworks. These efforts support their awareness endeavours to prevent and deter violators, in line with the applicable legislations and regulations in the UAE. The MoU also outlines the implementation of joint training programs and specialised workshops aimed at enhancing the professional competencies of both parties' staff and the development of periodic analytical reports to support decision-making, ensuring the comprehensive application of administrative and regulatory procedures. Additionally, the MoU includes provisions to support awareness and media campaigns related to institutional compliance and financial crime prevention, as well as collaboration in developing relevant policies and legislation and reviewing regulatory frameworks to ensure their alignment with international requirements. Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) organised the 'Eid Joy' initiative, which brought together well-behaved inmates of correctional and rehabilitation centres with their families in a festive atmosphere on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

Dubai issues new passport stamps for Eid Al Adha 2025 travellers
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai has issued commemorative passport stamps for travellers arriving during the Eid Al-Adha holiday period.
