A man has been released on bail on suspicion of manslaughter after grandad James Messham died on the cruise to Belgium - shocked tourists say they had no idea a passenger had died
New footage shows crowds partying on a luxury cruise liner just hours before a grandfather was 'killed on a stag do' aboard the ship - and passengers say they were never told of the death.
James Messham, from West Sussex, was reported dead two-and-a-half hours after the MSC Virtuosa departed from Southampton on Saturday, May 3. A 56-year-old man from Richmond, London, has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, according to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.

Shocked tourists on the cruise have described the hours before and after his death. A passenger on board a cruise ship where a man is suspected to have been murdered has described the behaviour of other guests as 'carnage'.

The 21-year-old, who does not want to be named, but who we will call Claire, told The Mirror that fighting began as soon as she boarded the MSC Virtuosa ship with her boyfriend who was celebrating his birthday.
And she claims it continued throughout the two day return cruise from Southampton to Belgium. She told The Mirror: 'It was full of stag and hen do's that just made the boat really rowdy. We got on the boat the first day about 2pm and it was all sunny and we went to the pool but you could already see fights breaking out.
'We got to the pool about 3pm and people who were already on the boat were in drunken arguments and scraps. We were sat quite far back and all of a sudden you would hear cheering and chanting and you would look over and see people fighting.
'The bar staff were still serving people to the point they were paralytically drunk, it was just carnage.'
A 57-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder of a 60-year-old passenger James Messham.

Tragic James, who has been described as a 'lovely' grandfather ran a motorcycle stunt show and was reportedly on a stag do when he was killed in an 'altercation'.
Mr Messham is understood to have been travelling with relatives who helped him run popular motorbike stunt show the Wall of Death.

Joby Carter described him as a 'proper gent' who was part of Carter's Steam Fair until around eight years ago.
He said: 'I was absolutely gutted when I heard the news. He was a legend.
'We used to travel Carter's Steam Fair. He approached us because he had a wall of death and wanted to travel with us.

'We always got along with him. He was a proper gent, salt of the earth.
'You knew if you had a problem he would come and help you any time day or night.
The incident happened just two hours after the ship left port but according to Claire passengers were not informed anything had happened.

She said: ''It is just so strange to us. They had a body and the murder suspect on the boat for two days and did not tell us a thing, we were only two and a half hours away from Southampton when it happened, why didn't we just turn back and get them off?
'It is so unnerving to know we spent the entire voyage with both those people still onboard.'
Mr Messham's death was the second tragedy onboard MSC Virtuosa in a matter of months.
Colombian national Jessica Andrea Gómez Granda, 28, died after falling overboard near the Channel Islands in October.
The ship is used to film Channel 5 drama The Good Ship Murder starring X Factor winner Shayne Ward.
An MSC spokesperson said: 'Following an incident on board our ship, the relevant authorities were contacted, and we are cooperating fully with their investigations. We are providing full support to those impacted and thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time.'

Peter Kyle launches fresh 'single word' attack on Nigel Farage after Jimmy Savile row

Technology Secretary Peter Kyle has said Nigel Farage has not said 'one single word' about how he'll protect kids online after vowing to rip up the UK's online safety laws Peter Kyle has said Nigel Farage has not said 'one single word' about how he'll protect kids online after vowing to rip up the UK's online safety laws. ‌ The Technology Secretary has stood by his assault on the Reform UK leader after a huge row erupted when he said Mr Farage is on the side of predators like Jimmy Savile. Mr Kyle told The Mirror Mr Farage 'should have regrets about the position he is taking and the hole he's digging himself into' when asked if he regretted his comment. ‌ He continued: ' Nigel Farage wants to overturn that legislation without saying one single word in practical terms how he will keep children safe so he should be deeply regretting the fact that he is causing anxiety to parents and just with his words, risking putting children in deep, deep harm's way.' It comes after a Reform UK police chief's 'dark heart of wokeness' claim came under fire. ‌ Pressed if he regretted the Savile comparison, he said: 'No, I don't regret drawing attention to the fact that Nigel Farage is seeking to expose our children to harm, and that includes harm by predators and paedophiles. And if he continues along that path, he is a threat to children and the family life that we, in this country, aspire to tackle and have taken big steps forward to do so.' The Reform UK leader's views on children's safety online have been the centre of debate since Mr Farage last month said his party would abolish the Online Safety Act if it was elected. It would mean removing Ofcom's children's safety codes, which order tech companies to prevent children accessing harmful content, including misogynistic material, extreme violence and pornography. ‌ The Reform UK leader even admitted he had no idea how he would keep kids safe online if he abolished online safety laws. Asked how he would, Mr Farage told journalists: "Can I stand here and say that we have a perfect answer for you right now? No." Following the announcement, Mr Kyle said Mr Farage was on the side of people like disgraced predator Savile. He described the Clacton MP as in support of "people out there who are extreme pornographers peddling hate, peddling violence". ‌ Mr Farage said the comments were 'so absolutely disgusting that it's almost beyond belief', adding: 'Frankly to say that I would do anything that would in any way aid and abet people like Jimmy Savile, it's so below the belt it's almost not true." On Mr Kyle's latest comments a spokesman for Mr Farage said: '62% of the public thought Peter Kyle's Saville attack on Nigel was inappropriate. More than half said he should apologise. ' Labour 's increasingly desperate strategy to go for the man and not the ball will not succeed.' More in Common polled voters at the start of August.

Tulisa's bombshell claims: Singer details battle with addiction, suicide attempts and her heartbreaking response to sex tape scandal

Tulisa Contostavlos is leaving no stone unturned in her upcoming autobiography, detailing her battle with addiction, two suicide attempts and her sex tape scandal. The singer, 37, vowed to be 'brutally honest' in the tome, titled Judgement: Love, Trials and Tribulations, and has stayed true to her word. According to The Mirror, the N-Dubz star charts her 'year from hell' amid her drug sting trial, which led to two suicide attempts. She penned of the day she found out she was going to be charged on suspicion of being involved with the supply of Class A drugs: 'Why is this happening to me? 'What's the point in being alive just to be miserable? How am I ever going to find happiness after this? Even if I'm found innocent, I'll be empty inside by the time I get to the end of it, and my life will be ruined.' Thankfully, she was found by former best friend Gareth Varey who called an ambulance after finding her in her bathroom surrounded by empty packets of sleeping pills. While Tulisa was revived, she made a second attempt on her life months later amid her trial, which resulted in her being hospitalised for three days. Throughout any challenging times, Tulisa would try and comfort herself by locking herself in the bathroom. She explained: 'When I was a child, the bathroom was the only room in my house with a lock. I had always locked myself in there in times of distress, whether it was because my parents were going at it like two bulls in a china shop again, or my mentally ill mother was going off the rails. It had always been my place of safety. 'And twenty years later, here I was: back lying on the bathroom floor. Deep-rooted issues, I suppose. When the sex tape had come out, I had slept on the bathroom floor for five days.' Tulisa's ex Justin Edwards - who she had broken up with in 2009 - released a sex tape of her in 2012 during the height of her fame. Revenge porn was not illegal at the time, meaning she only managed to get a court apology from him. Elsewhere in the book, Tulisa also revealed that while she suffered from depression she became addicted to sleeping tablets and benzodiazepines, a habit she broke free from last year after she 'found her peace and faith'. Tulisa's memoir documents her rise to prominence and subsequent fall from grace after being targeted by the disgraced 'Fake Sheikh', Mazher Mahmood. The singer later admitted her life 'fell apart' following an elaborate sting that resulted in her being arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs, an accusation she vehemently denied. As the drama played out in court, Tulisa opted to keep a journal in which she detailed the toll her trial had taken on her personal life, and the devastating impact it had on her career. Released by Blink Publishing for Bonnier Books UK, Judgement is now available to purchase.
