DRDO successfully tests latest version of UAV-launched precision missile, ULPGM-V3
The V3 can be equipped with multiple warheads, including Anti-armour, to destroy modern age armoured vehicles, penetration-cum-blast warhead with anti bunker application, and pre-fragmentation warhead.
New Delhi: India has successfully conducted flight trials of the latest Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM), the V3 version, marking a significant upgrade in India's defense capabilities.
Weighing around 12.5 kg, it has a range of over 10 km, a significant upgrade over the previous V2 version, which had the daytime range of up to 4 km. This extended range allows for bigger standoff distances.
Also known as the UAV Launched Missile- Extended Range (ULM-ER), the V3 version uses a fire-and-forget mechanism powered by a dual-thrust solid propulsion unit. It is equipped with a passive homing system using an imaging infrared (IR) seeker, allowing accurate target engagement in both day and night conditions.
Boasting an accuracy of approximately 10 cm, it is capable of engaging both static and moving targets with high precision. The latest version operates fully autonomously, without the need of constant human oversight. This feature is advantageous in complex environments where real-time control may be limited. A two-way datalink enables updates and retargeting when required.
Showcased at the Aero India 2025 show held in Bengaluru in February, the ULM-ER's main differences with V1, V2 lie in improvements in guidance systems, performance and range.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO and the industry partners among others for the development and successful trials of the ULPGM-V3 system.

Amagi Media Labs files draft IPO papers to raise ₹1,020 crore
Cloud-based video broadcasting and distribution platform Amagi Media Labs Ltd has filed draft papers to raise ₹ 1,020 crore in an initial public offering (IPO) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi). Mint first reported in January that the software-as-a-service firm appointed investment bankers, including Kotak Mahindra Capital, Citigroup, IIFL Capital, and Goldman Sachs, for a ₹ 3,200-crore public listing. The proposed IPO consists of an issue of fresh equity shares worth ₹ 1,020 crore and an offer for sale of up to 34 million shares, showed the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) The listing will make the Bengaluru-based unicorn the very first sectoral player in the broadcast and streaming ecosystem to go public in the country. Several notable investors, including Premji Invest, Accel, General Atlantic, and Norwest Ventures, will be offloading their stakes. It is currently unclear if they will sell all their shares in the company. Net proceeds from the fresh issue of ₹ 667 crore will go towards the company's further investments in its cloud infrastructure and inorganic growth. It is also considering raising ₹ 204 crore in a pre-IPO round. Amagi's revenue from operations in 2024-25 stood at ₹ 1,162 crore. Its revenue since 2022-23 has grown at a compound annual growth rate of 30%. Amagi, which gets most of its revenue from the US, sees the Indian market growing, given the rise of free ad-supported TV in the country. India and Latin America currently make up only about 10% of its overall revenue. In a conversation with Mint earlier, its founders said they'd be looking to make a few acquisitions this year in three spaces: live sports broadcasting, advertising technology solutions, and the media supply chain sector. The company had last raised money in 2022, when it raised over $100 million in a round led by General Atlantic, which valued the company at $1.4 billion.

Intel plans to separate its networking unit amid restructuring move
New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) Intel, a California-based giant chip maker, is planning to separate its networking and communications division into a stand-alone company. Reportedly, the chipmaker also started to identify investors for this purpose. This restructuring move is seen as CEO Tan's another strategy to rejuvenate Intel by selling off its non-core assets and cutting costs by reducing investments and staff. Reportedly, Intel has been planning the divestiture of its network and communications unit since May and is looking to follow the same strategy that the firm used for its Altera division. Intel's Altera Division has a focus on programmable logic devices (PLDs), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and system-on-chip FPGAs. In an email statement, Intel said, 'Similar to Altera, we will remain as an 'anchor investor' while looking for our future growth prospects.' In April, Intel agreed to sell a majority stake of its Altera Programmable chip business. The network business of Intel produces chips for different telecommunications equipment and generates massive revenue, which accounts for a surge in Intel's total sales in previous years. UNI SAS ARN
