CBI court grants bail to NCLT deputy registrar
Mumbai: A special CBI court on Friday granted bail to arrested National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) deputy registrar Charan Pratap Singh, in connection with a bribery case. He was arrested on May 29.
Singh moved a bail plea through advocate Shalabh Saxena, submitting that during searches at his homes, the total cash found was merely Rs 22,000.
"The accused owns no property in Mumbai and is living in shared accommodation in an 8x10 chawl with a common bathroom and toilet," the plea submitted through advocate Shalabh Saxena said.tnn

A 17-year-old boy, who unknowingly captured the deadly crash of Air India AI171 in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on Thursday, recorded his statement to the police as an eyewitness. Having captured the tragedy that claimed the lives of 270 persons, the teenager was left in distress and fear. I assured remained awake for the entire night. He has become quiet, not even eating anything," she said. Within minutes of its takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on June 11, Gatwick-bound Air India AI171 flight crashed into a medical hostel complex in Meghani Nagar area. The crash of the plane, which was carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members, left behind just one survivor. Rest of the 241 passengers lost their lives to the tragedy. Additionally, 29 others, who were present on the ground in and around the medical hostel complex, were also killed. The death toll in the Ahmedabad plane crash, as of Saturday, stood at 270. The ministry of civil aviation revealed in a press conference on Saturday that the Air India aircraft had climbed to just 650 feet before it began to lose altitude. "As per the ATC, when it tried to contact the aircraft then there was no response. After exactly one minute, the aircraft crashed in Meghani Nagar, situated about 2 km from the airport,' said civil aviation secretary Samir Kumar Sinha.

HC urges vigil against exploitation of devotees through fake websites, social media accounts
Kochi: HC has directed the chief vigilance officer of the Cochin Devaswom Board (CDB) to maintain constant vigil against the exploitation of devotees through fake websites, Instagram accounts and similar platforms that misuse the names of temples for online pooja bookings, donations and related services. The court observed that the perpetrators behind such fraudulent platforms must be proceeded against in accordance with law by lodging appropriate complaints before the station house officer of the concerned police station. The court was considering a petition by C Devidas and three other devotees of the Tripunithura Poornathrayeesa Temple seeking immediate action to remove various fake 'official' Instagram and other social media accounts operating in the name of Poornathrayeesa Temple and other temples under CDB. The court further directed the CDB to take necessary steps to provide facilities for online pooja bookings, donations and similar services in respect of all major temples under its management, if such provisions are not already in place, for the convenience of devotees. CM inaugurates bag production unit in Muz
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated a new industrial unit (Cosmas Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd.) for manufacturing high-quality bags in Bela Industrial Area of Muzaffarpur set up under Bihar Textiles and Leather Policy 2022. Spread over 5 acres of land, the plant has been set up by investing a total of Rs37 crore. The CM saw the bag manufacturing work being done there and talked to the people working in the unit, to know about the production. The workers told Nitish about the bag manufacturing work, cutting, stitching etc. The CM praised and encouraged them. "We are encouraging investors to set up industrial units in the state.
