Episode 2
The Murder
Episode 2 of Poker Face Season 2 begins with a film shoot taking place in a funeral home. The shoot involves a man killing a woman while a younger woman takes pictures of the scene. The funeral home belongs to Fred who complains to his wife, Greta about the whole thing.
When Fred realises that Greta didn't inform one of their clients, the Hoppenstammers, about a change in the schedule for their grandmother's funeral, they get into an argument. He argues with Greta and she suddenly says she wants a divorce. She feels trapped and wants to take up one of the film crew on a job offer in Miami, doing makeup.
That night, after the film crew is gone, Greta comes back drunk from a party. While she is in the shower, Fred moves her bags downstairs to the shoot area. When she comes out, Fred kills her the same way the woman is killed in the film. He uses the same weapon used in the shoot and her blood splatters the same way as well.
He cremates her body and bags in his incinerator and then puts her ashes in the urn used by the film crew. Although, he keeps a bit and infuses it with a record of the song Sleep Walk. In the morning, the film crew takes all their things away and Fred listens to the record on his own.
The Investigation
We then shift to Charlie Cale, who says it's been three months since she heard anything from Beatrix Hasp or the Five Families. She's also switched from smoking to vaping. A man approaches her when she goes to a store and asks to rent her car for a period film being shot in 1973. Charlie also gets roped into playing the corpse in the scene.
She meets Greta, who talks about how she did cosmetology and she had big dreams till her parents passed away. They were cremated, which is how she met and fell in love with Fred. She was only 25.
Later, Charlie meets Fred who tells her about keepsakes for the dead, where one's remains can be put in objects like stained glass or pen ink. Fred shows her how he can even do it with a vinyl record. Later that night, Greta goes out with Charlie and the other girls. She complains about Fred and how he's already chosen the records for their remains. Hers is a song called Sleep Walk that she doesn't even like.
Charlie drops her home and promises to come pick her up so they can go to Miami together. In the morning, Charlie looks for Greta. Fred shows her Greta's texts where she says she's leaving and tells Charlie she left with the film crew. As she leaves, she notices him dancing to a record playing Sleep Walk.
The Hoppenstammers' funeral takes place. Meanwhile, Charlie uses the call sheet to reach out to the film crew but none of them have seen Greta. Which is odd because Charlie could tell Fred was saying the truth when he said she left with the film crew.
Tommy, the guy who hired Charlie, goes back with her to investigate the funeral home. She spots a speck of blood on a lightbulb and that's when Fred catches her snooping. Charlie puts the clues together and accuses Fred of killing her. But Tommy then gets a text from Greta with an image of her at a beach. She says she's in Miami.
Charlie admits to messing up and apologises. She's about to leave when she hears a phone ringing and finds Greta's phone in Fred's desk. She sees the texts and the beach photo, which is an image from 2022.
Before she can do anything, Fred chloroforms her. Charlie wakes up inside a coffin. Fred is about to send her inside the incinerator but she pushes it hard enough for the coffin to fall off the conveyor belt and break. Fred is about to attack her but she throws her vape into the incinerator which makes it explode.
She tries to pull Fred to safety but he doesn't want to leave his burning house. He'd rather burn with it. Charlie gets into her car where another surprise is waiting for her. Beatrix Hasp puts a gun to her head at the end of Poker Face Season 2 Episode 2.
The Episode Review
Season 2 Episode 2 is a solid follow-up. Once again, Poker Face manages to draw up real characters in a short span of time. We get a good picture of who these people are — Fred, with his obsession with his work and a house filled with the remains of his family in every knick-knack and showpiece. And Greta, with her need to get out of a marriage that makes her feel trapped. The show continues to offer complex and compelling characters and that's what really sells the whole thing.
Of course, there is still a fair bit of whimsy here with details like the Hoppenstammers, who are a biker family. Additionally, it did feel a bit easy for Charlie to break herself out of the coffin like that. But things like this are easy to overlook when the rest of the episode is not just compelling but also incredibly fun. And that juicy cliffhanger is the cherry on top!

I wed a Nigerian toyboy 43 years my junior – people think I'm ‘crazy', call me his ‘grandma' & say he's with me for cash

A 68-YEAR-OLD woman has revealed that she said 'I Do' with her Nigerian toyboy, who is 43 years her junior. When Kay, 68, and Ablack, 25, first connected on Facebook, they had no idea that a simple social media like would lead to marriage. 4 4 4 4 But now, the couple have opened up on their unique relationship and explained how just three days after meeting in real life, Kay's toyboy popped the question. Revealing all to Truly, on an episode of Love Don't Judge, the couple admitted that they are constantly stared at in the street and Kay has even been accused of being Ablack's ' grandma '. Opening up about how their relationship first blossomed, Kay recognised: "He liked something I posted. He went from somebody who liked my post to my very best friend, I could tell him everything. It just kept getting stronger and stronger." After three failed marriages, Kay was initially 'very leery about being scammed ' by the youngster. Not only was the mother called 'crazy' by many, but before long, the couple had tied the knot, with Ablack being Kay's fourth husband. Despite falling in love, the couple constantly face judgement over their age gap, with Kay being 43 years older than Ablack. But Kay beamed: 'I do not feel old when I'm around him. I feel very young, like a teenager.' With Ablack based in Nigeria and Kay over in the US, the pair have had to make the relationship work with the geographical distance. However, Ablack knows that the pair are destined to be, as he acknowledged: "A prophet told me that I'm going to get married to a white woman and here she is.' But although destiny brought them together, not everyone agrees with their relationship, as Ablack said, "Some people say, 'she's old enough to be your mum '. Some say, 'you're married to your grandma', 'she's too old for you'. I'm 20 and my man is 63 - people say he looks like Shrek and I must be in it for the money, but I'd still love him if he was a cleaner 'Anywhere we go, people take pictures of us.' Not only this, but people have even accused Ablack of getting 'married for a US green card '. Clearly unfazed by the judgement, Kay, who is often referred to as Ablack's 'sugar mummy', said: "I've never felt love like this before. "This is the one I'm supposed to be with, I just had to wait a long time for him to be born. 'He treats me like a Queen. I'm his priority.' ‘He's a bad guy': Trump backs decision to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to US to face charges

Donald Trump has called Kilmar Abrego Garcia a 'bad guy' and backed the decision to return him to the US to face criminal charges. Abrego Garcia was wrongly deported to El Salvador nearly three months ago under the Trump administration. He was returned to the US on Friday (6 June) and charged with trafficking migrants into the country. The charges relate to a 2022 traffic stop, during which the Tennessee Highway Patrol suspected him of human trafficking. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Trump said: 'By bringing him back, you show how bad he is.' 'He's a bad guy,' he added.
