Ozzy Osbourne getting 'stronger every day'

Perth Now19-05-2025

Ozzy Osbourne is "getting stronger every day".
The 'Paranoid' hitmaker - who has battled pneumonia and a lingering infection in recent years, had neck and spinal issues, which were exacerbated by a 2019 fall, as well as Parkinson's disease and pneumonia and a lingering infection in recent years - is preparing for Black Sabbath's farewell concert in Birmingham, England, in July and despite concerns for his health, his daughter Kelly Osbourne has insisted he will be "ready" to take to the stage.
She is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying: 'He's working out every day. He's getting stronger every day and he is ready for this. I think this is going to be the final one.
'It is my dad's opportunity to say thank you to everybody who gave him the life and the career."
The 'Back To The Beginning' show at Villa Park on 5 July marks the first time frontman Ozzy has reunited with his bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward in 20 years and Kelly thinks it will be "magical".
She added: 'And it gives me goosebumps just talking about it because it's his moment to give back and it's not about anything other than his love for his fans.
'I think it's going to be a really magical moment.'
The 76-year-old rocker is planning to play a short solo set before joining the rest of the group for a Sabbath spectacular, though he has admitted he won't be putting on an energetic show and will likely spend most of his perfomance sitting down, though he's been working hard to improve his fitness.
He recently told the Guardian newspaper: "I do weights, bike riding, I've got a guy living at my house who's working with me. It's tough – I've been laid up for such a long time. I've been lying on my back doing nothing and the first thing to go is your strength.
'It's like starting all over again. I've got a vocal coach coming round four days a week to keep my voice going."
Ozzy's wife Sharon previously insisted the singer's voice is as good as ever despite all of his health problems.
She told The Sun: "He's very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this [planned gig].
"Parkinson's is a progressive disease. It's not something you can stabilise. It affects different parts of the body and it's affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it's ever been."

British Airways flight attendant found dancing naked in business class

A British Airways flight attendant has reportedly been found dancing naked mid-flight. The hostie, 41, was meant to be serving drinks and meals to passengers, instead, after a search, colleagues found him completely naked and jumping up and down in one of the plane's business class toilets. Clearly unable to continue his shift, the man was given a pair of pyjamas to change into before being seated in a first class seat and strapped in for the remainder of the 10 hour flight headed to London from San Francisco, The Sun reports. There were around 470 passengers and crew on board the packed double-decker Airbus A380 at the time. 'We think the guy popped pills when he was meant to be working. It is an extraordinary thing to do,' one co-worker told The Sun. 'The plane was cruising at 37,000ft over the Atlantic, but this bloke seemed to be higher than anyone else. 'Rather than asking passengers 'chicken or beef', he was stripping off and dancing in the toilet. It was a long time before he was located and he was completely out of it. 'Not only is it really dangerous, it is a crazy way to end your BA career. This job can do ridiculous things to people, but staging a one-man disco in a Club World toilet is a new one on me.' On landing, the man, who disembarked in a wheelchair, was given medical attention and arrested by police on suspicion of being unfit for duty. The incident is being investigated and the flight attendant has been suspended.

Gillan Anderson: Sex scenes are never a joy

Gillian Anderson had admitted that sex scenes are "never a joy". The 56-year-old actress shares an intimate scene in a tent with co-star Jason Isaacs in her new movie 'The Salt Path' - based on the true story of couple Raynor and Moth Winn who embark on an epic walk in the UK after a bad health diagnosis and homelessness - and says such things are part and parcel of acting. Gillian told The Sun: "That is something you just expect as an actor. "That's part of what one does. I had an experience for many, many years working with the same actor every day. "I've also done sex scenes on the very first day of working, which is never a joy at any time during filming. "So you're thrown stuff all the time and just show whatever you're given." 'The X-Files' star added that it was straightforward to film the raunchy scenes with her "amenable" co-star Isaacs. She said: "Jason makes it very easy. He's very amenable, he's very likeable. "And certainly physically, we feel like we're the same language - certainly by the end. "We feel like our journey is baked into us, and we feel like we're part of the same conversation." Gillian explained that she became desperate to play Raynor after reading her book of the same name and being "profoundly affected" by the story. She recalled: "I read the book and I couldn't speak for days. I was really profoundly affected by it. I think I might have threatened them with an inch of their lives to hire me!" Gillian explained that starring in the movie has changed her thoughts on homelessness. The 'Sex Education' actress told the i paper: "It haunted me in a way that I think was good. "In America, you would stop at a light, and two or three people might surround the car and wash your windscreen and then ask for money, which I'd never seen happen here (in the UK) before. Post Covid, suddenly that was happening. "It was an opportunity to change how I thought about it, period. And to have more compassion and understanding. It's fascinating to observe in oneself the different emotions that come up as a result of being face-to-face with it."
