Maroon 5 and LISA's 'Priceless' tops this week's new music poll.
In a poll published Friday (May 2) by Billboard, music fans chose the collaborative song from the Adam Levine-fronted band and BLACKPINK star as their favorite new release of the week.

'Priceless' brought in nearly 58% of the vote, beating out new releases from artists like KATSEYE ('Gnarly'), TOMORROW X TOGETHER ('Love Language'), Ed Sheeran ('Old Phone'), Key Glock (Glockaveli), and more.
Released after days of teasing from both Maroon 5 and LISA, the funk-infused pop track sets the stage for the band's upcoming eighth studio album, while also serving as a bold punctuation mark on the BLACKPINK member's debut solo project, Alter Ego.
'Priceless' marks Maroon 5's first collaboration with a K-pop artist and features a guitar-driven sound that nods to the band's early 2000s roots, complemented by LISA's confident rap verse. The accompanying music video, shot on 35mm film and directed by Aerin Moreno, takes visual inspiration from the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
'It's just a guitar-based song, which we haven't really done in so long,' Levine said in a statement. 'It happened first for us while recording the album. I think it's the purest, and we're so happy to have LISA on it.'
He added, 'The guitar intro is literally me playing into an audio message on my iPhone with an unplugged guitar. I actually got a little emotional recording it because it felt like reconnecting with our roots — which a lot of our fans have been asking for. It's been over 20 years, so I think it's time for that sound to return.'
'Priceless' follows Maroon 5's 2021 album, Jordi, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. For LISA, the track builds on her expanding portfolio of international collaborations as a solo artist, following the success of her 2021 debut single 'LALISA,' and her continued work with BLACKPINK.
This week's poll runner-up was KATSEYE's experimental pop anthem 'Gnarly,' which earned 23% of the vote. It marks the group's first new release since 2024's 'Touch.'

Songwriting has changed, says Barry Manilow
Barry Manilow thinks "songwriting has changed". The 81-year-old star released his eponymous debut album back in 1973, but he admits that songwriting has changed dramatically during the course of his career. Speaking to Billboard, he explained: "The songwriting has changed. "Young people don't write the way I was trained to write. There's no verse which goes into the chorus which goes back to the verse which goes to ending, and you change keys. They don't do that. "They start the song and then they just … it feels like a run-on sentence to me. I can't find the hook. I can't find the chorus. It just keeps on going, and then it ends." Manilow observed that a lot of his contemporaries have already retired from the music business. However, he has no intention of stepping back for the time being. The 'Could It Be Magic' hitmaker said: "It's like, 'What? Am I the only one left?' "It's Billy Joel, and Elton (John) is not well and Rod (Stewart) and Neil (Diamond). Diana Ross is still in great shape, I think. There must be only a handful of people in my world that are still there. "I'm still healthy. I'm strong and I've still got my voice and my energy. The night I can't hit the F natural on 'Even Now,' that's the night I throw in the towel. But I can still do it." Manilow has recently been working on a new album, which he hopes to release later this year. However, he admits that the creative process has been far from straightforward. The music icon explained: "This'll probably be my last album. "I've been working on it for a long time … for so long that the style of music has changed. "I had to go back and redo (the songs) so they sounded a little more contemporary. I had to take all the strings out, all the background vocals out 'cause they don't do that anymore. They don't use strings and background vocals and all that. "Even I heard that it sounded dated, so we had to go back and redo it."

DDG's Temporary Restraining Order Against Halle Bailey Denied
On Wednesday (June 4), DDG requested an emergency hearing in an attempt to block Halle Bailey from traveling internationally with their son, Halo. He countered her previous domestic violence accusations by filing for a restraining order of his own, but his request was not approved. Bailey is set to leave to Italy with their one-year-old this weekend for a few months as she shoots a film. TMZ reported yesterday the Michigan rapper filed a motion against his ex-girlfriend, claiming she poses an 'imminent emotional and psychological risk' to the child. He included several alleged incidents that would back up his assertions, if true. DDG wrote about a time Halle took his gun and ran out of his house, said she would have an abortion behind his back, and would text him concerning messages regarding her mental health. 'In or about August 2023, during a particularly volatile argument, petitioner became enraged and threatened to end her life using my legally owned firearm. Without my consent, she took the weapon and left the house,' wrote DDG in a declaration attached to his court filing, per Billboard. 'This incident was one of several in which petitioner's actions posed a serious threat to her own safety and the safety of our son by creating an environment of emotional distress and danger within the home.' The rapper also claimed Halle sent 'a series of alarming text messages threatening to kill herself and suggesting that their infant son, Halo, might also be harmed.' In May, Halle was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG after accusing him of abuse. She cited an incident where he allegedly smashed her head against a steering wheel during an argument, said he often referred to her as a 'b**ch' or 'evil,' and rallied his supporters to bad-mouth her publicly. The Little Mermaid actress addressed her Italy travel plans in her original complaint, which was approved on May 15. 'I have family and a nanny who will be traveling with me to care for Halo while I am working,' Halle wrote in the court documents. The former couple went public in March 2022 and had a child together in December 2023. See a full timeline of their relationship here.
