The Alabama Crimson Tide lineup set to appear at 2025 SEC football media days next week in Atlanta, Georgia is now officially set.
Announced by the conference Tuesday, Alabama will be sending three players to SEC football media days, each of which will be making their first-ever appearance at the SEC's premier offseason event. That trio will be offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, defensive tackle Tim Keenan III, and inside linebacker Deontae Lawson, with the group also joined by Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer.
Last year, Alabama was represented by quarterback Jalen Milroe, offensive guard Tyler Booker, and safety Malachi Moore at SEC football media days, each of which were team captains for the Crimson Tide a year ago alongside of Lawson.
DeBoer, as well as the players, will speak to the media on Wednesday, July 17. Joining the Crimson Tide that day will be Florida (Billy Napier), Mississippi State (Jeff Lebby), and Oklahoma (Brent Venables).
A multi-day event, 2025 SEC football media days will take place from Monday, July 14 through Thursday, July 17 at Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park and The College Football Hall of Fame.

Where Alabama ranks in 2025 preseason US LBM Coaches Poll

Only weeks away from the start of the 2025 college football season, we now know just where the Alabama Crimson Tide are ranked to begin the year. Released on Monday afternoon, Alabama was ranked as the nation's No. 8 overall team in the 2025 preseason US LBM Coaches Poll, which was the third-highest ranking of any SEC team. The Crimson Tide trailed only Texas and Georgia, who were ranked at No. 1 and No. 4, respectively. In addition to their ranking, four opponents on Alabama's 2025 regular season schedule were also ranked in the preseason Top 25, which were Georgia (4), LSU (9), South Carolina (13), and Tennessee (18). Alabama's Week 1 opponent, Florida State, was not ranked. The Crimson Tide are coming off a down 2024 season in which Alabama ended with a 9-4 overall record in year one of the Kalen DeBoer era to miss the College Football Playoff. Alabama also went 5-3 in SEC play. Popular college football podcast picks Spartans to exceed expectations in 2025

It's predictions season, and one popular college football podcast likes Michigan State to exceed expectations in 2025. Michigan State comes into this season looking to snap a three-year bowl drought, with the Spartans again pegged to be right around the bowl eligibility cutline. But for one popular college football podcast, Michigan State will easily surpass the six win threshold in 2025. The Undergrad CFB podcast released their game-by-game predictions for Michigan State next season and have the Spartans finishing 8-4 overall and 5-4 in Big Ten play. The popular podcast has the Spartans picking up notable wins over Boston College, UCLA, Indiana, Michigan and Iowa this season. I personally have some similar game-by-game predictions that I'll be releasing in the coming weeks ahead of the season. So this prediction from The Undergrad CFB account is not far off from my personal opinion, but definitely is higher on the Spartans than most of the national or regional media. Texas A&M Safety Preview-Can A&M's safety group take a step forward in 2025?

The 2025 football season is coming up fast, and there's plenty of excitement surrounding year two under Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko. One of the most scrutinized position groups this season will be the secondary, especially the safeties. Unless you were living under a rock after the bowl game loss to USC, you heard Elko make it immediately clear: he was furious about the team's poor pass coverage and promised significant changes. Unlike the cornerback position coach Elko the only player added to the safety room was true freshman Rashad Johnson Jr. This shows the amount of faith the staff with the player on the roster to improve. Depth Chart Snapshot Player Spotlight Freshmen Class: Rashad Johnson Jr Scheme Fit & Outlook Elko's safeties must deliver: Ratcliffe, as the third safety on the field, unlocks more blitz and disguise options. Anderson remains the brain, Brooks brings the bite, and the depth group offers a mix of experience and upside. This unit won't just hold the line, it'll bait, confuse, and punish if they can put it all together. Final Thoughts There's upside here, but it's all speculative. Ratcliffe adds versatility, and Anderson brings needed stability. Beyond that, Brooks hasn't anchored a full season, Kerr's the only proven depth, and communication issues still hang over the room. If the vets lock in and the younger guys come on fast, this unit could help A&M turn a corner. But for now, the talent's intriguing, the cohesion isn't.
