UFC 319 'Embedded,' No. 1: Dricus Du Plessis gets first taste of the 'Friendly Confines'
UFC 319 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) takes place Saturday at United Center in Chicago.
In the headliner, middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis (23-2 MMA, 9-0 UFC) puts his title on the line for the third time when he meets unbeaten – and favored – challenger Khamzat Chimaev (14-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC).
In addition, wrestling standout Aaron Pico (13-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his highly anticipated UFC debut after years in Bellator when he takes on unbeaten featherweight Lerone Murphy (16-0-1 MMA, 8-0-1 UFC) in the co-main event. Plus, the popular Michael Page (23-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) meets former middleweight title challenger Jared Cannonier (18-8 MMA, 11-8 UFC) and more in the home of the Bulls and Blackhawks.

Finally, Clark came back for a week in early July, just before Indiana was to host the WNBA All-Star game, and got injured again. This time, it is her right groin that is the problem, and it's been a full four weeks since she last took the floor. Still, Clark--who had never missed a game in the WNBA or in college before this season-- has tried to stay engaged with her teammates and, perhaps more important, with the fans. That was again the case on Tuesday when the Fever played Dallas at home, a game televised on ESPN. Clark was still in civvies, but ESPN highlighted her before the game, putting in her time with fans signing autographs. "Caitlin Clark is for the fans," the post read. Caitlin Clark: 'I Do Feel This Responsibility' That's been important for Clark throughout her injury ordeal this season. She has appeared in only 13 games, but she understands that, for better or worse, she is the face of the new WNBA and a big part of the reason attention on the league has surged. It may be unfair, but Clark has graciously said she has an obligation to do what she can for fans who paid to see her play, not to sit in street clothes. "It's hard, because obviously I do feel this responsibility of being out there and playing," Clark told Sue Bird on her "Bird's Eye View" podcast. Clark explained, she does not think the WNBA revolves around her, but that she does feel she wants to give paying customers a show: "And not that I think there's a fear of any of this going away. That doesn't happen when like, LeBron or Steph get hurt. [Fans] are always going to be there. But you do want to play, you want to give people something to cheer about or scream about." There is no timetable for Clark's return, though the team has been upbeat about the possibility. Still, there are now only 11 games on the Fever's remaining slate, meaning there is a distinct possibility Clark will not play again this year. UFC heavyweight suspended for doping violation originally appeared on The Sporting News The UFC career of Alvin Hines is in serious jeopardy. The heavyweight, who lost his Octagon debut at UFC 317 earlier this year, has been suspended for a year after a failed drug test. Hines, who took a bout with Jhonata Diniz on short notice in June, tested positive for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone, the promotion announced. The test results were released by Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD). MORE: Dana White still has trust with Conor McGregor to make big fights A native of Minnesota, Hines was also found to have 3a-Hydroxy-2a-methyl-5a-androstan-17-one and testosterone metabolites, as well as a metabolite of Tamoxifen, 3-Hydroxy-4-methooxytamoxifen, a hormone and metabolic modulator in his system. The tests were take from samples collected both in-competition and out-of-competition. In the release, the UFC noted that the cases reflected that Hines consumed the substances that are banned before he was signed to the UFC, but that he also failed to disclose taking them when his onboarding into the UFC Anti-Doping Program was completed just days before his bout. "Under the UFC ADP, CSAD evaluates each case and can reduce periods of ineligibility based on the athlete's degree of fault and their level of cooperation," the UFC said in a statement. " While Hines failed to disclose his prior use of these substances during onboarding, the estimated concentrations of these substances in Hines' samples were reflective that they were near the tail end of excretion and supported his explanation of their use prior to being signed to the UFC and entering the UFC registered testing pool." The suspension started on July 11, 2025 and runs for one year. Three more PFL Champions Series: Dubai main card fights announced
The full PFL Champions Series lineup for Oct. 3 in Dubai has been revealed. Friday, the promotion announced its full main card with several new additions. The card is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Usman Nurmagomedov (19-0) and Paul Hughes (14-2), with a co-main event between Corey Anderson and Dovlet Yagshimuradov for the promotion's light heavyweight championship.
