
OIC Extends Congratulations to Saudi Arabia on Founding Day

Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), expressed his sincere congratulations and blessings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the occasion of Founding Day, celebrated annually on February 22.
The Secretary-General lauded the significance of this day for the citizens of Saudi Arabia, the headquarters country, invoking prayers for the continued security and prosperity of the Kingdom and all OIC Member States. He highlighted Founding Day as a pivotal event, representing the deep historical, civilizational, and cultural heritage of the Kingdom.
Moreover, he underscored the Kingdom's ongoing development trajectory under Vision 2030, which encompasses diverse sectors aimed at enhancing the Kingdom's status and its leadership regionally and internationally.
The Secretary-General noted the ambitious projects and strategic initiatives spearheaded by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, which seek to elevate the Kingdom's role within the OIC framework and address pressing issues concerning the Islamic world and joint Islamic action.
In closing, the Secretary-General conveyed his aspirations for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to continue its path of prosperity, honor, and leadership as a proactive advocate for Islamic solidarity and humanitarian efforts.

OPEN// Sisi signs law regulating Islamic fatwas
CAIRO, June 10 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi signed Law No. 86 of 2025 to regulate the issuance of Islamic fatwas. The law defines who can issue religious rulings. General fatwas, related to public matters, may only be issued by Al-Azhar's Council of Senior Scholars, the Islamic Research Academy, or Dar El-Ifta. Private fatwas may also be issued by the Al-Azhar Global Fatwa Center, authorized joint committees, and qualified imams from the Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments). OIC Condemns Israeli Assault on Ship Madeleine
Mohamed Mandour The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its strong condemnation of the blatant assault on the ship "Madeleine" and the kidnapping of the political and humanitarian figures on board, describing the act as an extension of the State terrorism practiced by Israel, the "occupying power". The OIC welcomed the humanitarian efforts and initiatives, as well as the activities of international solidarity with the Palestinian people. It called for the immediate release of international activists and the protection of all humanitarian, medical and media workers, while stressing the need to allow sufficient and sustained entry of relief and humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. The OIC also renewed its call on all international actors to assume their responsibilities and compel the Israeli occupation to end all crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing, destruction, starvation and blockade against the Gaza Strip. UAE, Syria Leaders Discuss Ways to Enhance Bilateral Co-op
Nada Mustafa Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara held a phone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. According to the Syrian presidency, the two leaders exchanged greetings and well wishes during the call, expressing their hopes for continued prosperity and stability for both nations. As reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al-Shara and Sheikh Mohammed extended their warmest wishes for health and happiness to all, praying that the blessed occasion brings goodness, blessings, and peace to the peoples of Syria, the UAE, the broader Islamic world, and the global community. The call also touched on the fraternal relations between the two countries and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in a manner that benefits both peoples. It is worth noting that on May 11, the two presidents had a previous phone conversation during which they exchanged views on recent regional developments and explored ways to enhance bilateral ties across various sectors.
