OIC condemns Israeli occupation's approval of 22 new settlements
Jeddah - Saba: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' decision to approve the establishment of 22 new settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory. In a statement issued on Friday, the OIC considered this step an attempt by the occupation authorities to pursue their settlement plans aimed at changing the geographic and demographic reality of the occupied Palestinian territory, in flagrant violation of international law and United Nations resolutions, particularly Security Council Resolution 2334 of 2016. The OIC renewed its call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibilities towards putting an end to the crimes of aggression, displacement, colonization, and starvation committed by the Israeli occupation. OIC: Israel Perpetrate 77 Assaults in West Bank in a Week
Mohamed Mandour According to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) Media Observatory for Israel's Crimes against Palestinians, 491 martyrs fell and 1489 persons were injured. The occupation forces mounted the pace of their aggression on the Gaza Strip from 20 to 26 May 2025. The occupation committed 2,801 crimes across the Palestinian territories. In the space of a week, the occupation forces targeted the UNRWA's Musa bin Nusair School and Al-Nasr Model School in western Gaza. They perpetrated a massacre at the al-Jarjawi School in Daraj Quarter, a popular market in Deir al Balah, a hospice in central Gaza and a diesel production factory. They bombed and besieged the Al-Awda hospital in Northern Gaza, where several massacres were committed, especially in Jabalya camp. This occurs amid the annihilation, bombing and incineration of entire families, foremost the martyrdom of nine children of a Palestinian woman in southern Gaza, besides the 18,000 Palestinian children killed since the start of the aggression. The occupation army murdered the civil defense operations director in the strip and prevented the civil defense crews from heading to the areas targeted in Rafah. Over the same period, a journalist was martyred. Meanwhile, the occupation forces deliberately targeted human gatherings. Thus, from 7 October 2023 to 26 May 2025, 55,411 Palestinians martyred and 130,986 wounded. The Israeli aggression had various reverberations starting with an international movement characterized by the impotence of international aid organizations to the brutality of a US congressional representative calling for "bombing Gaza with nuclear weapons". This is occurring in a context of European countries reassessing their relations with Israel, the occupation force, with the west pouncing upon the recognition of the state of Palestine. Meanwhile, the UN organizations emphasized that the aid entering Gaza is a drop in the bucket of the strip's needs. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on Israel, the occupation force, to show "mercy." read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies

Azerbaijan marks Independence Day with celebration at Embassy in Amman
Ammon News - The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Amman hosted a formal celebration on Tuesday to mark the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, reaffirming the strength of diplomatic ties and historical friendship between Baku and Amman. In an official statement, the embassy underscored the deep-rooted relationship between the two countries, describing it as a bond of brotherhood based on mutual respect. The embassy recalled a pivotal moment in 1994, when the late King Hussein met Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit in Casablanca. That meeting, it noted, laid the groundwork for a lasting and strategic relationship. The statement also emphasized the continued personal connection between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, calling it a cornerstone of today's high-level partnership. President Aliyev has visited Jordan twice, while King Abdullah II has made three official visits to Azerbaijan. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in the 1990s, Azerbaijan and Jordan have steadily expanded cooperation across key areas including politics, defense, economy, science, and culture. The embassy noted that Azerbaijan opened its first diplomatic mission in Amman in 2006, signaling its commitment to deepening bilateral engagement. The growing institutional framework between the two countries includes the work of joint governmental committees and parliamentary friendship groups. A total of 52 bilateral agreements have been signed, covering a wide range of sectors and cooperation mechanisms. The embassy highlighted recent momentum in bilateral cooperation, citing increased engagement in military and defense ties, scientific exchanges, and cultural initiatives. It said the partnership reflects a shared interest in peace, regional cooperation, and sustainable development. As Azerbaijan commemorates its independence, the embassy described the occasion as an opportunity to look forward to future achievements. The country's strategic location, at the nexus of East and West and along the historic Silk Road, has positioned it as a vital link between civilizations and a hub for global trade and cultural exchange. The embassy also emphasized Azerbaijan's Islamic heritage and its historical contributions to Islamic civilization. Islam was introduced to the region in the first century of the Hijri calendar, and Azerbaijani scholars and scientists played a prominent role in the Islamic Golden Age. Following independence, Azerbaijan has reconnected with its Islamic and cultural roots, regaining its place in the broader Muslim world. Today, Azerbaijan is a member of more than 13 major international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the Non-Aligned Movement, UNESCO, and UNICEF. The embassy said this active participation reflects Azerbaijan's commitment to multilateralism and international cooperation. Petra

Kuwaiti Consul in Jeddah: Full readiness to support Kuwaiti pilgrims during Hajj
JEDDAH, May 28: Kuwait's Consul General in Jeddah and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Yousef Al-Tunaib, confirmed on Tuesday that the Kuwaiti Consulate has completed all preparations for the 2025 Hajj season. He assured that the consulate staff are fully prepared to support Kuwaiti pilgrims in performing their rituals with ease. In a statement to KUNA, Al-Tunaib said the consulate routinely forms dedicated committees each year to operate around the clock. These teams ensure continuous communication and coordination with the official Kuwaiti Hajj mission and pilgrims arriving from Kuwait. Al-Tunaib noted that a consular office has been established in Makkah to oversee and execute consular duties related to Kuwaiti citizens throughout the Hajj season, up until the departure of the last pilgrim. An additional office at King Abdulaziz International Airport has been set up to assist pilgrims upon their arrival and departure, helping to overcome any potential obstacles. He further stated that a consular team will remain on duty in Jeddah to continue the consulate's regular operations and monitor the affairs of Kuwaiti citizens in the western region of Saudi Arabia during the holiday period. The Consul General announced the allocation of a dedicated emergency hotline (+966 535 571 133) to receive calls and inquiries from Kuwaiti nationals, including pilgrims, Umrah performers, visitors, and others. Al-Tunaib emphasized the consulate's ongoing coordination with Kuwait's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, praising its leadership of the Kuwaiti Hajj mission and its cooperation with relevant authorities to enhance the Hajj system and ensure the comfort and safety of Kuwaiti pilgrims. He also commended the Ministry's initiative to increase the number of Kuwaiti pilgrims accepted for this year's Hajj season — standing at 8,000 — who are registered via the electronic Hajj track for international pilgrims. He highlighted the Ministry's efforts to implement the outcomes of the recent Hajj Conference and meetings of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah. The Consul urged Kuwaiti pilgrims to strictly follow the directives issued by Saudi authorities, specifically the Ministry of Interior's requirement for pilgrims to obtain an official permit from relevant authorities before entering Makkah or the holy sites during the Hajj period. He lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors. Al-Tunaib also highlighted the significance of conferences and seminars organized by Saudi officials, reflecting their commitment to serving those visiting the Two Holy Mosques. In conclusion, he extended his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for their tireless efforts and generous support in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of the Guests of God. He wished them continued success and guidance.
