Asyad Shipping sets offer price, raises $333mln in Oman IPO
Asyad Shipping Company, one of the world's largest diversified maritime providers and a global leader in deep-sea transportation, today (March 8) announced the final offer price and demand levels for its initial public offering (IPO) on the Muscat Stock Exchange.
The Omani group has set the final price for its IPO at Bzs123 per share, at the top of the marketed price range of Bzs 117 to Bzs 123 per share, raising gross proceeds of RO128.1 million ($333 million).
Based on the final offer price, Asyad Shipping's market capitalization upon listing will be RO641 million ($1.66 billion).
The IPO comprises a total of 1,041,748,856 existing shares by Asyad Group (representing 20% of Asyad Shipping's total issued share capital). Of these, 25% of offer shares were allocated for Category II (Retail Investor) applicants and 75% of offer shares were allocated for Category I (Institutional Investor) applicants.
In the Category I tranche, 30% of Offer Shares were allocated to the two anchor investors, Mars Development and Investment and Falcon Investments, a subsidiary of the Qatar Investment Authority, who committed to subscribe for 10% and 20% of the Offer Shares respectively, at Bzs 123 per share.
Asyad Shipping, in collaboration with Asyad Group, appointed Ubhar Capital as the price stabilisation manager and liquidity provider for the IPO.
Asyad Group has allocated RO10 million from the IPO proceeds to Ubhar Capital to conduct stabilising transactions in the company's shares at the final offer price commencing on the first day of trading and for a period of up to 30 calendar days thereafter.
The Asyad Shipping IPO will be the first IPO in Oman where a price stabilization manager has been appointed.

During peak times, buses will come every 5 minutes instead of the usual 45-minute wait. This means shorter waiting times and more convenience for everyone traveling. The authority is committed to making travel easy for people visiting family or exploring popular destinations, both within the emirate and outside it. They are also increasing staff at busy bus stations, especially the Jubail Bus Station, which will be open from early morning until late at night to accommodate the larger number of passengers expected during this busy holiday. The Authority has improved bus services in Sharjah City for the Eid holiday, making travel easier for everyone. They are running a total of 1,144 bus trips each day across 12 different routes, using 104 buses that connect to 543 stops around the city. Abdul Aziz Al Jarwan, who is in charge of transport at the local authority, announced that there will be four daily trips. Al Jarwan shared that the Authority is working closely with the Omani transport company, Mwasalat, to run international route 203. This route connects Sharjah with Muscat, the capital of Oman, and offers two flights each day. This service is expected to encourage tourism between the two countries, especially during the Eid holidays. Construction advances on the UAE-Oman Hafeet Rail project
Construction on the Hafeet Rail project connecting the UAE and Oman is progressing with groundwork and railbed preparation and structural works on major bridges and tunnels underway in both countries, according to a press statement released by the operator on Thursday. In February 2025, Zawya Projects reported that Hafeet Rail awarded strategic contracts for the construction of the railway. The company has signed an signed a logistics agreement with Itaminas Comércio De Minérios S.A., one of Brazil's leading iron ore producers, covering Sohar Port's rail-connected facilities for iron ore import and value-added processing. The Hafeet Rail statement said Itaminas, as part of its long-term growth strategy, is actively exploring the establishment of segments of its value chain in the GCC, capitalising on the region's infrastructure, energy resources, and strategic location. Hafeet Rail, a joint venture between the UAE's Etihad Rail, Mubadala and Asyad Group, is responsible for the implementation and operation of the 238-kilometre (km) railway network.
