King Charles 'open to ending Prince Harry feud'
It comes as it emerged the pair's senior aides held a secret peace summit, said to be a "significant" step in reuniting the feuding father and son. Insiders now say the "rapprochement process" could heal years of broken relations within the royal family, but only if Harry, 40, stops conducting "endless rounds of broadcast interviews as his only way of communication".
However, it's feared that Harry's fractured relationship with William is harder to repair, after his memoir Spare revealed the two had a physical fight over his relationship with Meghan. The Mail on Sunday today reported talks were held at a London private members' club that champions international friendship, and whose patron is the King.
It is seen as the strongest sign yet of the determination on both sides to resolve the bitter House of Windsor feud. A royal source exclusively told the Irish Mirror: "The King has consistently shown he loves both his sons and as he has done in the past is prepared to meet Harry when their diaries allow such an occasion. It's not unusual for aides from different households to meet, especially when there is a new influx of staff starting their roles, but of course this is a significant moment.
"Senior members of the family have in the past said to Harry that he must both stop his attacks on the family as well as giving endless rounds of broadcast interviews as his only way of communication. If there is a period of calm and reflection on the part of the Duke of Sussex, then there may be a way forward for him to begin along the road of repairing his relationship with his father.
"As for his relationship with his brother, that is a different matter entirely and one which he will find much harder to repair."
Both men's aides held discussions at a London private members' club, according to the Mail on Sunday. At least three representatives from either side were seen speaking at the Royal Over-Seas League which sits just three minutes from Clarence House.
It is unclear which side initiated the summit. Harry was represented by his chief communications officer and head of his household in Montecito, California, Meredith Maines. She is said to have flown in from Los Angeles specially for the talks.
Liam Maguire, head of the Sussexes' PR team in the UK, was also present. The King was represented by his communications secretary Tobyn Andreae. The details of the conversation have remained private with Ms Maines jetting back to the US as soon as the meeting ended.
The British monarchy has spent years dealing with the fallout of Prince Harry's decision to marry former actress Meghan Markle after the two hit out at the family and stepped down as senior royals. In May Harry did an interview with the BBC and said he "would love a reconciliation" with the Royal Family, but that the King "won't speak to me because of this security stuff".
The Duke was referring to the removal of his automatic police security detail in Britain, which he called an "old-fashioned establishment stitch-up" and suggested his father could have resolved the situation. In the interview, the Duke even said: "I would like to get my father and brother back."
Harry's memoir, Spare, was also said to be the final straw for his brother William, as it made public claims such as a physical fight the pair are said to have had over Harry's relationship with Meghan.

Sports camp cancelled after Orange lodge raises 'concerns' over inclusion of kids from GAA club
A CHILDREN'S SPORTS summer camp scheduled to take place in Co Down has been cancelled after the local Orange lodge raised 'significant concerns' over the inclusion of children from a GAA club. The camp was to be run by the North Down Cricket Club. The camp was to be broadly focused on cricket, the club said, including children from ten local sports and community clubs. Among them was a small group of children from a local GAA club, the club said in a statement. Goldsprings of Comber Loyal Orange Lodge stated that residents in the Comber area were concerned about the 'proposed or perceived move of the GAA into the local community'. It said that it supported the promotion of sport and youth engagement, but that local residents had reservations about the GAA's 'cultural and historical affiliations', saying that the organisation has in the past 'celebrated or commemorated individuals associated with paramilitary activity'. It added that until the GAA takes 'meaningful steps' to ensure that it is inclusive and sensitive to the identity of the 'Protestant, Unionist, and Loyalist community', it would be viewed with opposition. First Minister, Sinn Féin's Michelle O'Neill, said that the developments are 'worrying and unacceptable'. Advertisement 'Children should be allowed to play together at summer camp without facing intolerance,' she said. O'Neill stated that political representatives need to send a message and overcome what she called 'unacceptable intolerance'. The cricket club at the centre of the storm said it reflects the 'best of our community and our Ulster-British heritage'. It welcomes people from all walks of life, it said, and the sports summer camp was meant to 'give young people from different backgrounds a chance to enjoy cricket, try something new, and simply have fun'. In the wake of the negative reaction, the spirit of the camp was at the risk of being lost, and the club have decided not to proceed, it stated. 'But let's be clear: openness is not a threat. Respect is not surrender. And our culture is not so fragile that it can't be shared.' Brian MacNeice, chair of Cricket Ireland, has put out a statement saying plans are being made to run a similar sports camp at Stormont. 'Cricket Ireland and the Northern Cricket Union are dismayed and disappointed at the events which have led to the cancellation of the youth sports camp at North Down Cricket Club,' MacNeice said. 'North Down has been at the forefront of youth development in recent times. Participation in multiple sports by young people has been recognised as having considerable benefits both in sporting terms and mental wellbeing. It can only be to the detriment of the children concerned that this cancellation has occurred. 'Cricket is a sport for all and both CI and NCU actively encourage diversity, inclusion and equality in our game. Working with other sports in the sharing of facilities and the creation of opportunities for young people is a key aspect of this strategy. 'We applaud North Down Cricket Club's initiative in planning the sports camp. We are committed to following through on the initiative and Cricket Ireland and the Northern Cricket Union are making plans to run a similar sports camp at Stormont. 'We have therefore approached East Belfast GAA and offered an opportunity to participate in this alternative sports camp which will also include other sports clubs. We look forward to further engagement with the GAA, and other governing bodies, for the benefit of all. 'We call on all community leaders to show leadership and actively support this initiative. Sport can bring communities together and we must all act in partnership to ensure this is the case.' Written by Emma Hickey and posted on

UK lifts ban on Pakistani airlines after improvement in air safety standards
The UK has lifted a years-long ban on Pakistani airlines following improvements in the country's aviation safety standards, the British diplomatic mission in Islamabad said. The Air Safety Committee imposed the ban after Pakistan's aviation minister in June 2020 disclosed that nearly one-third of the country's pilots had cheated on their licensing exams. The claim came after a Pakistan International Airlines crash killed 97 people on May 24, 2020, in the southern city of Karachi. Wednesday's announcement follows a broader international recognition of Pakistan's efforts to improve air safety. Earlier this year, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency also lifted its five-year ban, allowing the national flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines to resume direct flights to Europe. British High Commissioner Jane Marriott said that after 'extensive engagement' between the UK's Air Safety Committee and the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, restrictions on Pakistani airlines have now been lifted. However, Ms Marriott said individual airlines will still need to apply for operating permits from the UK Civil Aviation Authority. 'I'm grateful to aviation experts in both the UK and Pakistan for their collaborative work to meet international safety standards,' she said. 'While it will take time for flights to resume, once the logistics are in place, I look forward to using a Pakistani carrier when visiting family and friends.' The high commission emphasised that decisions on delisting countries or carriers from the UK Air Safety List are made through an independent safety process overseen by the Air Safety Committee. With more than 1.6 million people of Pakistani heritage living in the UK, and thousands of British nationals residing in Pakistan, it said the move will help families to reconnect and potentially boost bilateral trade ties. Pakistan's defence minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif welcomed the decision. Speaking at a televised news conference on Wednesday, he attributed the ban to what he described as 'baseless' remarks made by former aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan. He said Mr Khan's claim tarnished the country's image and triggered significant financial losses for Pakistan International Airlines.
