Gethin Jones issues work update as he says he's 'pretty excited'

Yahoo05-05-2025

TV presenter Gethin Jones is due to return to our TV screens on a (mostly) daily basis this week after an extended break from Morning Live. The morning show has been off air for a prolonged Easter break since April 11 and but is due to air live once again from tomorrow, May 6.
Gethin shared a short video to his Instagram which showed him and co-host, Michelle Ackerley jigging around to the opening bars of Marvin Gaye's Heard it Through the Grapevine in anticipation of the show's return. He wrote alongside it: "Me and @michelle_ackerley pretty excited to be back with you on @bbcmorninglive tmrw!!" Before detailing what was on the cards for the opener of what will be the seventh series of the morning magazine.
Since the show has been off air Gethin has been enjoying time away from screens big and small and jetting off to the USA where he visited Chicago.

We hope he sampled some deep dish pizza and a Chicago hot dog while he was in the Windy City - but he did tick one massive cultural box with a visit to a blues bar. Nice.
Also during his time off Gethin took the opportunity to get on two wheels, this time of the road bike kind, to cycle alongside pal Sir Chris Hoy.
Hoy showed off his impressive cycling skills as he blew away Gethin and his friends during an "epic day" in Wales.
The 49-year-old was back on his bike but swapped the velodrome for a muddy trail as he joined a group of friends for a day of mountain biking at One Planet Adventure in Llandegla, Denbighshire.
As well as the Morning Live host Jones, Hoy was joined by presenter OJ Borg, former Olympic cyclists Philip Hindes and Rob Hayles.
The six-time Olympic champion, who was first diagnosed with cancer in September 2023, revealed in October last year that his condition was terminal.
A scan found primary cancer in his prostate which had metastasised to his bones including his shoulder, pelvis, ribs and spine, with doctors giving him between two and four years left to live.
Tune into BBC Morning Live weekdays at 9.30am or catch up on iPlayer.

Haggard-looking ‘Liver King' seen in new mugshot after arrest for ‘terroristic threat' against Joe Rogan

Infamous influencer 'Liver King' appeared unkempt and haggard in a newly released mugshot following his bizarre arrest for allegedly making a terroristic threat against podcaster Joe Rogan. YouTuber Brian Johnson, 47, was busted in Austin, Texas on Tuesday when he suddenly appeared on Rogan's property talking about 'picking a fight' while packing what appears to be two golden firearms, according to footage he posted to social media. Johnson's disheveled appearance in his booking photo is a stark contrast to the polished image he curated for himself on YouTube as the buff 'CEO of ancestral life.' Advertisement He stares dead into the camera with very little emotion behind his eyes, which are dragged down by hefty bags. 4 Brian Johnson, better known as the 'Liver King', shocked in a mugshot released after his arrest. Austin Police Department Johnson gained fame on social media by attributing his ripped physique to a wild diet of animal testicles, liver and fertilized chicken eggs. Advertisement But in 2022 he admitted he blew through $11,000 a month for steroids to maintain his brawny body. The YouTuber hasn't appeared in a video on his channel in eight months but during that time, he's begun to post daily on his Instagram, often consisting of a confounding tirades that's sparked concern among his fans. 'The Joe Rogan Experience' doesn't feature an episode with Johnson as a guest, but he has come up multiple times before on the show when the discussion centers around bodybuilding and performance-enhancing drugs. 4 Johnson hasn't appeared in a video on his YouTube channel in eight months. Instagram/@liverking Advertisement On Wednesday, Johnson shared a nonsensical video promoting Blue Scorpion Venom, a pain and inflammation reliever that is often marketed to cancer patients but 'has not been scientifically proven to treat cancer in humans,' according to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In the video, Johnson addresses his arrest while only referring to Rogan as 'some guy,' but directly refers to the podcaster's comedy club 'Mothership' by name. 'Some guy, he thought if you just put him in jail, put him in jail, have the violent crimes division, have them come arrest him for a terroristic threat and the whole time that terroristic threat you thought was a bomb or something, inside that box was actually a present back for you and your Mothership colleagues for having my wife and me in Mothership that I've held on to for awhile just looking for the right time to give it to you,' Johnson rambled. 4 Johnson and his wife, Barbara Johnson. Instagram/@liverking Advertisement Johnson has continued to allude to the fight he hopes to have with Rogan in a slew of posts on his social media. 'This is truly so disappointing. This is not the way. Too much testosterone and pride here. You're an influencer and people will say things. Just move on,' one fan wrote in response to Johnson's recent and erratic posts. 4 Johnson has posted increasingly confusing videos on his Instagram. Instagram/@liverking 'Bro clean yourself up and leave your kids with a great family name. You are destroying what you have grown acting weird af,' another user commented. Still, Johnson appears to be dead set on having his cage match with black belt Rogan. 'No laws will be broken, I assure you of that. No details will be discussed either,' Johnson said. Rogan has not commented on Johnson's arrest or incessant invites to fight. Johnson faces a class B misdemeanor charge for allegedly making a terroristic threat and was held at Travis County Jail in Austin on a bond of $20,000 before his release.

Denise Austin shows off bikini body while vacationing in the south of France

Denise Austin is putting her bikini body on display as she soaks up the sun on her Mediterranean vacation. Last week, Austin took to Instagram to share photos of herself vacationing in Cassis, France, and feeling "strong, healthy, and SO HAPPY." "Feeling strong, healthy, and SO HAPPY here in gorgeous Bay Cassis!!! There's nothing like a little sunshine, fresh sea air, and a swim in the Mediterranean to lift your spirits and keep you feeling GOOD!!" the professional fitness coach wrote. "Vacation is the perfect time to stay active and take care of YOU. Whether it's a quick swim, a walk by the water, or just soaking in nature's beauty… it all adds up to a healthy body and a happy mind!! Let's keep moving, smiling, and enjoying every moment together!! xoxoxo." In the pictures, Denise was wearing a blue bikini with white trim as she posed on steps leading into the water. She paired her look with gold, dangling earrings and tortoise shell glasses as she smiled for the camera. "Vacation is the perfect time to stay active and take care of YOU." A few days before she shared the post, she uploaded two other bikini photos from her recent vacation. In these shots, Austin wore a bright red bikini as she was about to climb down steps leading to the ocean. In the second picture, Austin was holding a life ring that had the words "Les Roches Blanches" printed along the side. "We're soaking up the SUNSHINE in beautiful Cassis, France!!! WOW, the water is the most stunning shade of BLUE I've ever seen!!!" Austin captioned this post. "There's just something so magical about the Mediterranean Sea… a quick dip is all it takes to feel totally refreshed, recharged and alive! I'm savoring every second of this special trip… the salty sea air, the warm sunshine on my skin, and the joy of being surrounded by such breathtaking beauty!!! Taking time to relax, unwind, and be present - it's SO GOOD for the soul!! Sending you all a big HUG from the South of France!! xoxoxo." In January 2024, Austin gave Fox News Digital her tips for weight loss in her 60s. "Just do something that makes you feel good," Austin told Fox News Digital. "I love to walk for fitness. I love to do light weights to get strong and stay strong. I like to stretch and do yoga. Mixing it up is really fabulous. That way, you're surprising different muscle groups, and you kind of keep everything going and not plateau. "I really think anybody that enjoys what they're doing — maybe it's pickleball, tennis, any form of fitness — just move. Move as often as you can. Standing up burns more calories than sitting down." Austin, who has sold more than 24 million exercise videos and DVDs throughout her career, authored a dozen books and starred in a fitness television show, said there's one simple trick anyone could do to stay fit and lose weight. "My favorite tip, I tell everybody, is good posture. Posture tells a lot about somebody," Austin said. "If you're slouched over, first of all, your tummy has nowhere else to go but out. But if you sit up nice and tall, put your shoulders down and back and zip up those abs. "Keeping your spine healthy is so important. And then when you're standing up nice and tall, you can kind of tighten up your tummy for five seconds. That's equal to one situp. So, you could be doing these isometric exercises throughout the day that really work your muscles."
