Johnstown police searching for suspects in stabbing
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Johnstown police are searching for two suspects connected to a stabbing Tuesday in the Hornerstown section of the city.
The incident took place around 9:48 a.m. on the 100 block of Poplar Street, city police Chief Mark Britton said.
'Our units were there within two minutes and observed a victim with multiple stab wounds,' he said.
The victim's name is not being released, but he was identified as a male in his late 20s.
He was transported by EMS to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Britton said the victim's condition was unknown, but he didn't believe the injuries to be life-threatening.
The victim told officers he was approached by two suspects he didn't know, and when a verbal altercation escalated, a knife was used to attack him, authorities said.
The suspects then fled the scene in a white Jeep Compass with a dark stripe on the hood.
'We do believe this was a targeted altercation,' Britton said, adding there's no danger to the public.
He expressed thanks for the Cambria County Sheriff's Office, the Cambria County Detective Bureau and U.S. Marshals for assisting with the situation.
The investigation is ongoing.

80-year-old woman hospitalized after being hit by moped
HONOLULU (KHON2) — An 80-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition after being hit by a moped on June 6. The Honolulu Police Department said the incident happened around 2 p.m. on June 6, near Hotel Street and Maunakea Street. HPD says officers were attempting to initiate a traffic stop on a moped when the moped rider hit the 80-year-old pedestrian. EMS said the pedestrian was taken to the hospital in serious condition after the incident. As of about 4 p.m., Hotel Street was closed between Smith Street and Maunakea Street; Maunakea Street was closed between N. Pauahi Street and N. King Street after the incident. Deputies arrest Florence County residential care center employee after EMS workers find facility unstaffed
FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Florence County deputies arrested an employee of a residential care facility on Friday after EMS workers went to the facility and found no staff members on the premises, authorities said. Deputies were called at about 7 a.m. to the Above the Rest Residential Care Facility at 2385 Pamplico Highway. They were eventually able to locate an employee, who they learned had outstanding General Sessions bench warrants, the sheriff's office said. The person, whose name has not been released, was taken to the Florence County Detention Center, deputies said. Additional charges are possible, and more information is expected to be made available as the investigation continues. The sheriff's office was not able to say how many residents lived at the facility. This is a developing story.
