Deputies arrest Florence County residential care center employee after EMS workers find facility unstaffed
FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Florence County deputies arrested an employee of a residential care facility on Friday after EMS workers went to the facility and found no staff members on the premises, authorities said.
Deputies were called at about 7 a.m. to the Above the Rest Residential Care Facility at 2385 Pamplico Highway. They were eventually able to locate an employee, who they learned had outstanding General Sessions bench warrants, the sheriff's office said.
The person, whose name has not been released, was taken to the Florence County Detention Center, deputies said. Additional charges are possible, and more information is expected to be made available as the investigation continues.
The sheriff's office was not able to say how many residents lived at the facility.

Solo vehicle rollover crash injures five people, including three children, CHP says
Three children were seriously injured in a solo vehicle crash in Merced County. The California Highway Patrol said the overturned Toyota Corolla happened at 8:30 p.m. on eastbound Highway 152, near I-5. Officers determined the vehicle was traveling eastbound 152, attempting to take the northbound I-5 connector ramp, but for unknown reasons was unable to negotiate the curve in the ramp and overturned into a dirt embankment, Sgt. Adrian Lopez said. Passers-by tried to help before officers and EMS arrived. The three children — ages 5 to 10 — were not wearing a seat belt and two were possibly ejected, Lopez said. The driver had major injuries and the passenger had moderate injuries, Lopez said. The three children were airlifted to Valley Children's Hospital in Madera. Their conditions are unknown. Alcohol and drugs are not a factor, Lopez said.

Child rushed to hospital after rescued from Cleveland city pool: I-Team
CLEVELAND (WJW) – A Cleveland councilman tells the FOX 8 I-Team that a child had to be rescued from a city pool and rushed to a hospital Friday evening. Councilman Richard Starr said a young boy climbed the fence at the Lonnie Burten Recreation Center and then jumped in the pool, even though it was closed. The boy was unable to swim and his friends started yelling for help, Starr said. Watch: Residents called 911 for hours about crowds filling streets — where was Cleveland police? He added that some 'older kids' who were playing basketball heard the commotion and ran to help. They were able to get the boy out of the pool. A few minutes later, police and EMS arrived, Starr said. 'He was taken to the hospital and I am praying for him and his family,' Starr said. 80-year-old woman hospitalized after being hit by moped
HONOLULU (KHON2) — An 80-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition after being hit by a moped on June 6. The Honolulu Police Department said the incident happened around 2 p.m. on June 6, near Hotel Street and Maunakea Street. HPD says officers were attempting to initiate a traffic stop on a moped when the moped rider hit the 80-year-old pedestrian. EMS said the pedestrian was taken to the hospital in serious condition after the incident. As of about 4 p.m., Hotel Street was closed between Smith Street and Maunakea Street; Maunakea Street was closed between N. Pauahi Street and N. King Street after the incident.
