Pleased boaters using the Sioux City Marina
SIOUX CITY, IA (KCAU) — With the Sioux City Marina now officially open more boaters are using the docks more and more boaters are seen out the water.
The marina was recently taken over by F3 marina, after closed down all of last year, leaving many boaters not going on the river as much. But after opening on memorial day the marina is starting to see more and more boaters using the docks again. One boater who was about to hit the river for the weekend said he was upset the marina was closed last year, but is happy to be back on the water again.
'I mean it was a bummer we love the river so we were out here just as much we just had the trailer it was kind of a hassle I'm happy to see it's open lots of changes it'll be good for it' said Keegan Vaneldik a boater at the Marina
The current manager of the marina said there is still plenty of spaces left for boaters who are in need of a spot at the marina.

Trump Orders Entry Ban for People From 12 Countries
The Trump administration on Wednesday banned people from 12 countries from entering the United States, a dramatic escalation in President Trump's restriction on immigration. Mr. Trump's order frames the reasoning for restricting travel as necessary because of national security threats, but critics say that the order discriminates against broad swaths of people based on their ethnicity alone. In his first term, Mr. Trump barred travel from several Muslim-majority countries, including Iran. 'The recent terror attack in Boulder, Colorado has underscored the extreme dangers posed to our country by the entry of foreign nationals who are not properly vetted, as well as those who come here as temporary visitors and overstay their visas. We don't want them,' Mr. Trump said in a video message Wednesday evening posted on social media. Mr. Trump's order comes just a few days after an Egyptian man in Colorado attacked a group honoring hostages being held in Gaza. Trump administration officials warned that they would crack down on migration in the wake of the attack.

Holocaust survivors gather in Cooper City to share stories, warn of rising antisemitism
On Holocaust Survivor Day, more than 125 Holocaust survivors gathered in Cooper City, brought together by the Goodman Jewish Family Services organization. They got together to reflect on their harrowing pasts and express growing concern over the resurgence of antisemitism. Memories of a traumatized childhood Izabella Markovskaya and Willy Lipschutz, both infants during World War II, shared memories of lives uprooted by the Nazis. "We were running. We were trying to hide. That was my life. Many years again and again and again," said Markovskaya. "By the time I was six months old my father was taken away. Most my family was taken away. Somehow by miracle my mother was able to escape with me to Switzerland," Lipschutz recalled. After the war, he and his mother were the only family members to return to Belgium. "The [city] was just in a state of panics. Very very depressed. You know and I was put into a Jewish orphanage," he said. A warning for the future Despite the music and dancing with children at the commemorative event, both survivors say today's growing antisemitism is deeply disturbing. "Oh my God, I feel that I am about to die, and I am experiencing the same horrible situation I experienced as a baby. The antisemitism is growing. It's growing. It's growing. It's unbelievable," said Lipschutz. "I am thinking all the time about God. God give us freedom. Give us that freedom in the world," said Markovskaya. According to the Goodman Jewish Family Services, this event represents only a small portion of Broward County's approximately 1,500 Holocaust survivors.
