Chhoriyan Chali Gaon continues to peel back layers of its celebrity contestants, offering glimpses into their real lives beyond the glitz and glamour. Hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the show brings together popular names like Anita Hassanandani, Aishwarya Khare, Anjuum Faakih, Krishna Shroff, Dolly Javed, Erica Packard, Rameet Sandhu, Reha Sukheja, Sumukhi Suresh, and the popular twin duo, Samriddhi and
Surabhi Mehra
(Chinki-Minki).
As these city-bred divas take on rural life in Bamuliya, they are also discovering new sides of themselves and each other in the process.
In one such heartfelt moment, Samriddhi got emotional while revealing a deeply personal chapter from her early childhood for the very first time. She shared that she didn't even know she had a twin sister, called Surabhi, for the first 2-3 years of her life. Growing up in an orthodox family, the twins were kept apart, and it was only after their mother fought back against the family's restrictions that Samriddhi met her sister for the first time at the age of 5.
Since then, the bond between the two has remained unshakable.
Samriddhi said, 'Our family was so orthodox that they sent my sister away just because we were 2 girls. I had no idea I even had a twin. My sister never got to experience a mother's love during those early years. But our mom stood up for us; she fought with the entire family to bring us together. I met my sister for the first time when I was 5. When she came home, I didn't even know I had a sister who looked exactly like me.

A light moment turns into a realization. Speaking to News18 Showsha, Akshay admitted he 'might have been guilty' of holding a misconception about Janhvi before getting to know her better. Recalling an incident at a restaurant, Akshay said he jokingly teased Janhvi when a waiter apologized to her instead of him for a delayed order. 'Mera khaana nahi aaya, but apology tumhe mil rahi hai,' he quipped. What happened next caught him off guard. An hour later, Janhvi approached him to share that there's a flip side to the privileges people assume she enjoys. That very morning, someone on set had reminded her of her late mother, Sridevi , in a way that weighed heavily on her. Some also questioned why other disruptive activities, such as rave parties on beaches involving alcohol, don't attract similar outrage. A few Indians online apologized on behalf of the group, urging newcomers to learn and respect local customs. 'Clearly, some education is important before people come and live with other cultures,' one comment read. Others noted that such practices are uncommon in India, where even religious river dips traditionally avoid soap. "You want to hate on them because you're a racist? Fine, own that. The incident has reignited debate about respecting local traditions, cultural stereotyping, and the environmental damage caused by using soap in public waters .
