French-Canadian electronics entrepreneur Lapointe – a singer-songwriter whose stage name is Vintage – completed his takeover of the former Scottish Cup winners earlier this week.
The Quebec-based 57-year-old, who has been a hockey and football coach in his homeland for the past 20 years, stressed that he is determined to make the club profitable off the park and successful on it in the coming seasons.

'The fans will always have that suspicion about some guy coming in,' he said. 'But there is no temptation there for me. I can't destroy nothing. I am all for this and have no problem with how things are set up.
'You have the community trust. That is not an entity I am involved with. It's a non-profit that was already there before I arrived. This community trust's role is to get the artificial turf. They put it on this land and rent it to me for, say, a dollar.
(Image: Colin Mearns) 'This group has people from the council, people from our club, people from the community. So, that ensures this land will be used for football purposes.
'We need to turn the facility into a community hub. We need to get the artificial grass down. That turf will help us have that seven-day activity going. It has to be win-win everywhere.
'I could have built housing around my place in Canada. It would have been much easier. I'm not coming across the pond to build housing.'

Dumbarton have only been able to exit administration by becoming a new company – and Lapointe revealed that was the only route available to him.
'When I approached them, I was thinking it was a bankruptcy,' he said. 'Usually with a bankruptcy, you're looking at paying 20 cents on the dollar or whatever. But it wasn't that.
'There's particulars I can't talk about because they have me on an NDA (non-disclosure agreement). Forming a new company was the only option. We weren't allowed to do anything else actually.'

Aberdeen secure stunning £8MILLION funding deal as Dave Cormack vows to keep pace with Premiership rivals

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DAVE CORMACK insisted he wants to 'make the region proud' after he and his backers pumped another £8million into Aberdeen. The Dons chairman, director Tom Crotty and behind-the-scenes investors will fund a new indoor 4G pitch at Cormack Park and major improvements at Pittodrie. And Cormack has promised to keep Aberdeen at the forefront of Scottish game after the 49ers Enterprises' £20m investment in Rangers and Tony Bloom's £10m boost for Hearts. Cormack beamed: 'We continue to make good progress towards achieving long-term financial sustainability of the club with record season ticket sales, AberDNA memberships and markedly increased commercial and retail revenues. 'Combined with the additional funds generated, successful player trading is integral to this goal and remains a major factor in our recruitment. 'We have spent the last 12 months studying the market and refining our strategy in this area. 'This has complemented some of the squad planning work that we have undertaken, which in part has highlighted the need for adjustments in our own structures and the need for additional capital and operational investments if we are to continue to make progress and challenge ourselves to drive more success on and off the field. 'Together with our investors, I remain committed to driving Aberdeen forward and continuing to make our supporters and the region proud of its football club.' It's understood Cormack has personally put in £4m on the new sum with Crotty also investing heavily in the plan. The £8m will mainly be used for capital projects at Cormack Park, including the planned construction of a new full-sized indoor arena - with work to start in the New Year. Aberdeen fans react to historic Scottish Cup win The vision is for a new covered 4G facility for all-year-round use. Works will also take place at Pittodrie, including improved floodlights and corporate lounges as the club plans for a medium-term stay at their current home. Dons chief executive Alan Burrows added: 'This latest injection of funding takes the total investment from Dave, Tom and their colleagues to over £25m in the last few years. 'We're incredibly grateful to our investors for the new funds, which will provide a significant portion of the capital required for these improvements at Cormack Park and our stadium, while also being able to continue to invest in the squad and the football operation. 'Our training facility at Cormack Park is fantastic, and the addition of a full-sized, indoor arena and additional operational space will take it to a whole new level, opening new possibilities for our men's, women's, academy and community programmes. 'In addition, we have recently been able to more than double the investment in our scouting and talent ID department across the continent. 'This is only possible with the support we get from our investors and our fans through AberDNA memberships.' Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

New Rangers pub named after all-time Ibrox great set to open this week

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A BRAND-NEW Rangers-themed bar is set to open its doors in the coming days after weeks of anticipation. Rangers fans have been getting some sneak peeks of the venue - named after an Ibrox legend - ever since the announcement was teased on social media on June 1. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 2 The entrance of the new venue 2 It's been transformed in honour of Walter Smith One month later the new Walter's Bar in Rutherglen will be open to the public. Named after legendary Rangers manager Walter Smith, the bar has taken over the premises of the former Gorman's Bar at 33 Queen Street in Rutherglen. Unlike its predecessor, Walter's Bar promises to be more than a traditional pub as the owners hope it will become a new hub for Gers fans both on and off matchdays. It will also honour the Rangers great who managed the club on two separate occasions. Famous pictures and murals depicting Smith are dotted around the venue as well as at least one of his iconic quotes. The words "at Rangers you are never more than two defeats away from a crisis" can be seen written on the pub's ceiling in amongst a sea of blue. Unsurprisingly that's the colour that dominates the outside of the venue as well. Last month the official social media account for the bar teased next week's launch with a message that read: "Something's coming to Rutherglen… "Loud. Loyal. Unapologetically blue. "This isn't just a pub – it's a movement. Rangers statue tribute to Walter Smith unveiled at Ibrox by legendary manager's family just hours before Scottish Cup final vs Celtic "Walter's Bar is on its way, and we're not here to whisper about it. We're here to make noise." It could very well be the next hot-spot where many Rangers fans will descend on matchdays before heading to the big games. Owners of the pub have confirmed there will be a supporters' bus which will run from the bar to Ibrox before and after home games.
