1994 KFC advertisement stuns Australians in 2025
The fried chicken giant launched a television ad in 1994, which featured musicians Red Symons and Wilbur Wilde, to advertise its $19.95 family feed.
It included a whole 'tender roast' chicken, a large chips, potato wedges, coleslaw, potato and gravy, four dinner rolls and an entire Black Forest cake.
'So much food, so little money,' states the advertisement's catchphrase.
The price tag of $19.95 in 1994 has the same purchasing power of $44.69 in 2025, thanks to the 2.64 per cent inflation rate between the decades.
But, of course, social media users couldn't help but gawk at just how much food could be purchased for less than the cost of a $20 bill.
'$19.95 gets you burger meal with nuggets and sundae nowadays,' one social media user said.
One added: 'It all started to go downhill after that deal.'
'Zinger box costs pretty the same these days,' another quipped.
While one joked: 'My mum still complains about not being able to get that cake anymore.'
'Miss those days, and the 21 pieces of original recipe chicken for $21,' another said.
One simply added: 'What a time to be alive.'
'$19.95 would just cover a bird today,' another said.
One begged: 'BRING THIS BACK.'
'Now it's $19.95 for the chips,' teased someone else, while another said it used to be 'so cheap'.
One commented: 'Now it would be $99.95.'
'1994: So much food for so little money. 2024: so little food for so much money,' another said.
One said: 'I miss the KFC wedges and Tender Roast tasted really good, although modern 'bachelor's handbags' from Colesworths are not bad these days.'
'We use to get a bucket of chicken, large coleslaw, large potato and gravy litre of soft drink and two large chips for $22,' one added.
KFC has since responded to viral chatter, stating that while the prices have changed, it hasn't stopped serving up tasty food.
'While our menu has evolved over the years to meet changing tastes and preferences, one thing hasn't changed: our commitment to finger lickin' good chicken,' a KFC spokesperson told news.com.au
'Roast chooks and Black Forest cakes may have flown the coop, but we're always cooking up brand-new menu items like our Zinger Kebab, which is now available nationwide for the very first time.'

A community football coach has been sacked after making a crude social media remark about fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow's relationship with AFL star Bailey Smith. A man responsible for mentoring and shaping the points of view of young men is just casually throwing around sexist slurs.' The club said it consulted with its women's team and members before making the decision. 'We are incredibly proud to have a women's team, female representation on our board and women actively involved as members of our club. 'We have consulted with members of our women's side and we are committed to offering them and all the females in our club any support necessary. 'We also remain committed to supporting anyone else affected by these comments and welcome open communication with those who may have concerns.' It has been an intense week for Brownlow Medal fancy Smith and fitness queen Hembrow since news of their date first broke. Paparazzi photos showed the couple leaving a ritzy, chef-hatted venue at Burleigh Heads last Saturday — the day after the Cats' victory over Essendon in Geelong. Matt Wright trial: Pilot's alleged spray at boss over stormy weather egg collection request
A young pilot told the Outback Wrangler to 'get f--ked, get vaccinated and go fly his own helicopter' after his boss chewed him out for pulling out of an unsafe mission. Sebastian Robinson on Friday finished giving evidence after being grilled over four days in the trial of Aussie reality television star, Matt Wright. The Apple TV and Netflix star has pleaded not guilty to three counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice during the investigation into a chopper crash that killed his co-star Chris 'Willow' Wilson. It is not alleged Mr Wright is responsible for the crash. On Friday the Northern Territory jury heard about the 'Australia Day incident' where the 28-year-old pilot and Mr Wright had a fight a month before the fatal crash. Mr Robinson said on January 26, he, Mr Wilson and fellow pilot Michael Burbidge were contracted for a crocodile egg collecting mission at the mouth of the Daly River, in the NT. The jury was shown photos of the chopper with an oncoming Wet Season storm looming in the background. Mr Robinson said he radioed Mr Burbidge to say 'it was too dangerous to continue, because the storm was huge', and they mutually agreed to head back into town. He said they went back to the Noonamah Tavern to watch the traditional Australia Day 'ute run' and have a 'beer and a feed'. Mr Robinson said Mr Wright called him 'very hostile and abusive', telling the young pilot 'What the f--k are youse doing back? Egg collecting's not meant to be f—king easy'. 'You sit out there, you f--king ... you wait the weather out. You f--king deal with it,' Mr Wright allegedly said. The jury has previously heard Mr Wright was not able to take part in egg collecting missions in early 2022 because he was an 'anti-vaxxer'. 'I told him to get f--ked, get vaccinated and fly his own helicopter,' Mr Robinson said on Friday. In a group chat with Mr Burbidge and Mr Wilson, the young pilot alleged Mr Wright 'called us all bludgers' for pulling out of the dangerous conditions. The young pilot this contributed to his decision to leave Mr Wright's Helibrook, and he establishing his own company Arnhem Helicopters. Mr Wright sent Mr Robinson a message the next day saying he was 'sorry for blowing up'. The trial continues on Monday.
