Niharika, harassed by her husband Ghanim Ali and his family, approached Bhopal police again, alleging pressure to change faith, facing physical abuse and threats
A love story that began with promise has taken a troubling turn, forcing a woman to approach a police station in Bhopal for the second time. Initially married to Ganim Ali, everything seemed well, but over time, her husband and in-laws began pressuring her to change her faith, with support from her Pakistani sister-in-law.
Niharika first filed a complaint on May 31, 2024, against her husband and his family but retracted it the following day after they promised reconciliation—an agreement that remains unfulfilled. Frustrated and facing continued harassment, Niharika has now approached the police again, detailing the abuse she has suffered.
In her renewed complaint, Niharika accused her husband, Ghanim Ali, his father Ghazanfar Ali, mother-in-law Saleka Ali, sister Uzma Ali, elder brother Ghazi Ali, and sister-in-law Sana Habib of pressuring her to change her faith.
She claims she faced physical abuse for refusing and alleged that the issue of conversion was first raised by Sana Habib, who she suspects is linked to a religious conversion organisation. Niharika believes that questioning Sana could uncover the full extent of the conspiracy, noting that Sana is attempting to flee the country.
Niharika also revealed that her in-laws threatened her family with physical harm if she pursued legal action, which led her to move to Delhi to stay with her younger sister. Despite the threats, she chose to file a complaint due to the ongoing harassment.
Niharika has demanded the immediate seizure and investigation of the accused's mobile phones and called for strict legal action against them.

Delhi court extends judicial custody of 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Friday extended the judicial custody of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, till July 9. Special Judge Chander Jit Singh of the Patiala House Courts passed the order after Rana was produced via video conference, following the expiry of his earlier period of judicial custody. During the hearing, Rana's lawyer raised concerns about his client's health. Taking note of the submission, the judge directed Tihar Jail authorities to file a status report on Rana's health condition by June 9. Rana, a close aide to 26/11 key conspirator David Coleman Headley, also known as Daood Gilani, was extradited to India after the US Supreme Court dismissed his review plea against extradition on April 4. Following his arrival, the court had last month remanded Rana to judicial custody. The Mumbai terror attacks on November 26, 2008, saw ten Pakistani terrorists launch a coordinated assault across India's financial capital. After entering Mumbai via the sea route, they targeted a railway station, two luxury hotels, and a Jewish centre.

India has not responded to these claims ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan's army said on June 4 that its security forces raided a militant hideout and killed 14 insurgents during a gunfight in the northwest part of the country. The raid happened overnight in North Waziristan, a district in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The military said the operation targeted Pakistani Taliban fighters linked to an Indian proxy group. India has not responded to these claims. Pakistan's army also said that further cleanup operations are ongoing to remove Pakistani Taliban groups, which it claims are supported by India. Pakistani officials often accuse India of backing banned groups like the Baloch Liberation Army and the Pakistani Taliban, who are responsible for violent attacks inside Pakistan. These accusations have increased since May, as tensions between Pakistan and India have grown. The two nuclear-armed countries have seen rising conflict, especially over the disputed Kashmir region. Kashmir is split between the two countries, but both want complete control over it. The Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP, has become stronger since the Afghan Taliban took power in Afghanistan in 2021. Many TTP fighters and leaders have reportedly taken shelter in Afghanistan.
