Organisers had revealed it was a 'race against time' to build a replacement stage after the main stage burnt down on Wednesday.
Australian DJ duo Nervo were able to get the party started on Friday after a slight delay with some charred remains of the structure still visible behind them.
An estimated 400,000 people are expected to file through the gates across the festival's two weekends.
