A 9-year-old boy struck by an SUV while riding his bike. Witnesses say the driver fled.
It happened just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday near 19th Avenue and Clinton Street in Aurora. Angel was riding his bike near home when a red SUV hit him.
"I was coming from over there and I was doing a U-turn," Angel said.
Seconds later, he was on the ground. His sister ran outside when she heard him screaming.
"I asked him, 'what happened? What happened?' He told me a car hit him," Padilla recalled. "Very disappointing. How can someone run over a nine-year-old boy and not even stop to check?"
A neighbor's security camera caught the sound of the impact, followed by Angel's cries. A red SUV is seen speeding off.
Gouges in the pavement show where the SUV dragged his bike before taking off north on 19th toward Montview Boulevard.
Angel's stepmother says the driver rolled his window down after the crash, then rolled it up and sped away. She says Angel described the suspect as light-complected, with black hair and a beard, no hat.
Neighbors say dangerous driving is a problem in the area, with multiple crashes into houses in the past two years. They want another stop sign or speed bumps added to the intersection.
"Put yourself in our shoes," his stepmother said. "If it was your kid, your niece, your nephew- Show your face. Be responsible. You just left him there like he's nothing."
Angel has a concussion, scrapes, and bruises, but no broken bones. His family fears the emotional damage will take longer to heal.
"He's traumatized," Padilla said. "I don't know if he'll ever want to ride a bike again."
Police are asking anyone with information or video from around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday near 19th Avenue and Montview to contact Denver Metro Crimestoppers.

Chief of Narcotics admits to reckless driving after multiple crashes last April
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Erie County Sheriff's Office chief of narcotics pleaded guilty Friday to charges of reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident following a string of hit-and-runs last April. Chief D.J. Granville was sentenced to 50 hours of community service and a $600 fine for one count of reckless driving and one count of leaving the scene of a property damage accident. The Erie County Sheriff's Office said that Granville is being suspended 'without pay effective immediately, based upon his guilty plea.' Granville is accused of hitting six cars and damaging seven back in April 2024, ultimately causing nearly $60,000 in damages. The public was only made aware of it in March 2025. The hit-and-runs occurred on two different streets on Buffalo's West Side. Granville was allegedly on prescribed medication at the time. He was placed on paid administrative leave on April 14 while five other officers were also placed on leave in connection with the incident. At the time, he was issued three tickets for leaving the scene of an accident. Niagara County District Attorney Brian Seaman was appointed as a special prosecutor of the case following a conflict of interest with the Erie County District Attorney's Office. Seaman said his goal in the prosecution was to do what he would do for anyone else. 'Yes, from my perspective, from my office's perspective, we handled this like we would've anybody else,' he said. 'Now, there's a different question when you ask about what happened the night of the incident on the scene and whether or not the Buffalo police officers who responded if they treated this like they would anyone else.' Seaman then went on to say he received 'no cooperation' from the Buffalo police officers who responded on the night of the incident. 'I found that to be very frustrating and disappointing,' he said. Erie County Sheriff John Garcia released the following statement: When asked about Granville receiving a misdemeanor and not a felony, Seaman said a misdemeanor was the highest possible charge. 'I guess just wanna say this, too, for a law enforcement officer to come into court and plead guilty to a misdemeanor, that is not a small thing,' he said. 'I don't think Mr. Granville left here today thinking he got off with nothing happening, he pled guilty to a crime.' Suspected DUI driver wanted for deadly Riverside County hit-and-run
Authorities are searching for a suspected hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a motorcyclist in Wildomar on Wednesday. The crash happened at around 6 p.m. on Bundy Canyon Road and Harvest Way, said a release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. They say that the motorcyclist, who has been identified as 63-year-old Augustine Garcia, was riding through the intersection when the crash happened. After the initial impact, Garcia was thrown into a ravine off the side of the intersection. The driver fled from the scene instead of stopping to help the victim. Upon arrival, paramedics attempted life-saving measures on Garcia, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. "Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this collision," deputies said. Investigators did not provide details on the vehicle or suspect involved in the crash. Anyone who knows more was asked to contact RSO's Lake Elsinore Station at (951) 245-3000.

Teen motorcyclist and elderly driver killed in collision
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A collision in the Sabre Springs neighborhood claimed the lives of two people early Friday following a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV, authorities said. Video above by FOX 5/KUSI provides driving safety tips San Diego Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway shortly after midnight when an 18-year-old woman riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Poway Road ran a red light and struck a Mitsubishi Montero SUV. North County babysitter sentenced to life for sexually abusing autistic children The SUV, driven by a 72-year-old man, was turning left onto Poway Road from Sabre Springs Parkway and had a green arrow signal at the time, according to authorities. The motorcycle collided with the driver's side of the SUV. First responders declared the 18-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene. The SUV driver was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. SDPD's Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
