BIG WHOOPS I found the perfect ornament for my lounge on Temu but when it arrived all I could do was laugh – it was an epic fail
A WOMAN was left in hysterics when the "ornament" she bought on Temu arrived - and it wasn't quite what she was expecting.
Maisie-Ellen was delighted when she spotted what appeared to be a colourful elephant, which she said would look perfect in her bright and cheerful lounge.

So she hit buy, and eagerly awaited its arrival.
But when her order arrived, she couldn't believe what she found upon opening the box.
In a TikTok video, she showed the picture of the elephant on Temu, as she said she wanted a "multicoloured elephant to match my multicoloured front room".
She then held up what had actually come in the order - a wooden cut out of said elephant.

"No seriously, that is my elephant!" Maisie-Ellen sighed.
"It's flat, it's not even 3D!
"Well it is 3D kind of but that's not a statue!"
Things went from bad to worse as she pulled out a rug that she'd ordered, also to go in the lounge.

"It looks all thick and nice and colorful and pretty and whatever else," she said.
But when she put it on her floor, she realised it was as thin as a "sheet of paper".
Shoppers race to nab 'beautiful' water feature to turn gardens into a tranquil haven, as price is slashed from £44 to £5
"It's the thinnest, flimsiest, crappiest..." she laughed.
Maisie-Ellen said another issue was that the rug didn't have any green it it.

"The listing that I bought had like loads of green in it because obviously the living room is green!" she said.
"Where's the green?"
She'd also ordered inserts for some sofa cushions, which were paper thin, and concluded by showing the colourful pampas grass she'd picked up from the site as well.
"It looked f**king sick on the pictures," Maisie-Ellen said.

Why is Temu so cheap?
TEMU exploded onto the scene in late 2022, with people all over social media raving about the low prices.
The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace - essentially an online shopping app where people are connected to the retailer directly while the app takes care of the shipping element.
The frenzy over the app is not completely unfounded either as it offers a wide variety of products, including fashion, make-up, electronics and furniture.
According to a report from the US House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu takes advantage of a trade loophole that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the US.
The loophole is called the de minimis exception and it means they can ship goods valued up to $800 (£643) to the US without it being inspected or taxed by US customs.
Temu connects customers directly to manufacturers and only manages how the items are sent to customers.
It means Chinese vendors can essentially sell their products directly to customers and ship it without building a network of warehouses across the globe.
By doing this, they cut down on huge costs and ensure the product itself isn't marked up extra.
While many of the products seen on the Temu app are from brands with extensive, original collections, many more are dupes of designer brands.
"It really did.
"It looked silly nice on the pictures.
"I don't know how it looks in here!"
"That elephant was diabolical," one person in the comments laughed.

"My nan ordered a lamp and got a metal picture of a LAMP," another said.
"I made something like that elephant in Design and technology in 2003 in y7," a third giggled.
"It's Temu so things aren't ever perfect," someone else wrote.

Yung Filly update sees star face two new sexual assault charges

Yung Filly - whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos - was charged with rape and other offenses over an alleged sexual assault on a woman in Australia last year British rapper, Yung Filly, is facing two new sexual assault charges relating to the assault of a woman while he was on tour in Australia. Filly - whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos - was charged with rape and other offences over an alleged sexual assault on a woman in the country last year. In March, he pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one of strangulation and four counts of sexual penetration without consent. However, according to court documents filed on Friday, the YouTuber, 29, faces two new counts of sexual penetration without consent, and no plea has been entered for them. ‌ ‌ The incident is alleged to have taken place on 28 September. Filly had been touring Australia at the time of the alleged offences. Filly appeared at Perth Magistrates Court for an initial hearing on October 10, 2024 where he was granted conditional bail. The bail terms stated that he did not discuss the case on social media, or contact the alleged victim. The rapper appeared in Perth Magistrates Court for a second time on March 11, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was told to appear in the District Court of Western Australia on July 13. On June 13, two new charges of sexual penetration without consent were filed against Filly. During a court hearing in November, the British-Colombian saw his bail request put on hold until later that day. ABC Australia covered the story, noting that Perth barrister Seamus Rafferty SC is representing the entertainer. Rafferty commented on the denied bail, stating: "This has already made headlines. Given the nature of social media, the nature of people jumping on bandwagons, given the nature of (the) power imbalance between the parties." ‌ A TikTok video from Perth's Bar1 Nightclub went viral last year, showcasing Filly – who has appeared in Channel 4's The Great Celebrity Bake Off – performing at the venue. Meanwhile, in a sombre contrast, images depicting injuries allegedly sustained by a woman were presented to the court. "No ordinary person can consent in those circumstances," stated the prosecutor in reference to the gruesome photos, adding: "Across her body is a history of violent acts, ... we say those photos and what is alleged is beyond the pale, beyond what could be considered to be a consensual act." Filly, who was born in Colombia and moved to London aged two as a refugee with his mum and sister began his YouTube career in 2013 before releasing his debut single Take Time in 2017. He went onto host shows Hot Property and Don't Scream on BBC Three and has also appeared in Soccer Aid and The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off. Filly's 10-day trial is scheduled to start on 20 July 2026.

'I tried a TikTok viral 1-minute tan remover and I didn't expect these results'

This tan remover has been making waves with beauty buffs as it promises easy tan removal in just 60 seconds, but does it really work? Shopping Writer Meghan has put it to the test If there's one thing I hate about tanning through the summer, it's needing to remove it. Whether you're stripping the fake tan for good or clearing the canvas for a freshened look, taking off fake tan can be a hassle, sometimes taking an age. So, when I saw this tan remover going viral on TikTok for its quick and convenient removal, I was intrigued. The Rose & Caramel Purity Excel 60 Second Fake Tan Remover, which retails for £23.99 on Amazon, as well as at Boots and Debenhams, promises to remove fake tan in a singular minute. And it's not an empty promise, beauty buffs on social media have been showing off how fast and stress-free this remover is. So I thought I'd take it for a spin. This rapid fake tan remover is said to remove all your self-tan within just 60 Seconds. The viral remover is perfect for stubborn false tan stuck to dry patches, old self-tan that's seen better days, or faded fake tan that needs replacing, without any harsh scrubbing needed. Set to be compatible with any brand of fake tan, tanning mousse, tanning lotion, spray tan, etc., this Rose & Caramel remover is an exfoliating body scrub that promises to not only remove fake tan in seconds but also rejuvenate your skin, deeply exfoliate, remove dead skin cells, reduce ingrowing hairs, and provide the skin with intense moisture for silky, smooth, fake tan-free skin, a perfect fresh canvas for your next sunkissed look. Apparently, it's that easy. You simply mask your body with the luxury body scrub over all areas that need self-tan removal and leave to soak into the skin for 60 seconds. Then you can just jump into the bath or shower and use exfoliating mitts to gently buff away your old self-tan, leaving your skin exfoliated, super soft and ready for your next application of tanning mousse. Available in two scent options, including scent-free, the exfoliating tan remover that I opted for is formulated with a fruity mango and pomegranate scent, leaving the skin smelling and feeling fresh. First thing to note from my experience with this tan remover, which I've used twice now, is that I didn't notice any overly strong scent during or after use. This probably isn't a huge downside for everyone, and I will admit I have a terrible sense of smell, so it could just be my nose. I have tried removing fake tan with soap or other exfoliators, alongside my exfoliating gloves, and it's been a real chore, which is why I was os keen to test out this 1-minute miracle worker. Did this body scrub live up to the expectations of 60 seconds, and the tan just washes away? No. I covered all of my body that had fake tan on, prioritising dry areas where tan tends to cling, and waited over a minute before hopping in the shower. As I said, the tan didn't immediately disappear, though I did see some colour coming off in the water. But the results still surprised me. It only took gentle scrubbing with my exfoliating gloves while under running water, and it definitely did not take any aggressive scrubbing for the most part. I used more of the tan remover and a bit of a heavier hand on my hands, feet, elbows and knees where old tan likes to stick around, and to my shock, the tan lifted ten times easier than I've found with other exfoliating body scrubs. It isn't a miracle solution to ridding your body of old tan; you still need to exfoliate with gloves or a brush, but the process is massively reduced and doesn't take nearly as much effort to shift stubborn old tan. I wouldn't say it works in 60 seconds, but I had all of my tan removed in around 10 to 15 minutes while in the shower, which is significantly shorter than it's taken in the past. Plus, for £23.99, you get a 440ml tub, which is sure to last for months to come. I've barely used a third of my tub, and I've used this exfoliating body scrub twice. Try it for yourself and shop at Amazon, Boots, or Debenhams. If you're interested in knowing what tan and exfoliating mitts I was using, I've been swearing by this Loving Tan 2hr Express Tanning Mousse (£29.56) in the shade Medium. For removal, I used these Amazon exfoliating gloves (£5.99).

Diagnosed narcissist reveals how to tell for sure that you aren't one

Jacob Skidmore has shared with his 300,000 followers what it is like to live with narcissistic personality disorder. A diagnosed narcissist with his own social media account has revealed the 'real reason' you can tell that you aren't one. Jacob Skidmore has shared with his 300,000 followers what it is like to live with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). ‌ NPD is a mental health condition that gives an increased sense of self-importance, a deep need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. ‌ Skidmore, who is known as The Nameless Narcissist online, says he didn't tell people about his diagnosis for years. "Whenever I attempt to be vulnerable with my friends, it's like the shame catches the words in my throat and I psychically can't say it," he told LADBible. In a video uploaded to his TikTok page, Jacob said: "A lot of people will be like, 'Oh, I have those thoughts too sometimes. Does that mean I'm a narcissist?' And the answer is probably no, and it's not because necessarily that, 'Oh, if somebody considers they're a narcissist, that means that they're not a narcissist'. "I mean, obviously I've considered it, been considering it for a while, been diagnosed with it." The 'real reason why you probably aren't a narcissist' he says is because these thoughts have to apply 'to literally everything in your life'. ‌ "Not just 'Oh, man, I got a promotion at work, so I'm feeling a little grandiose and thinking a little narcissistically'," Jacob added. "No, it's, 'Oh, I took in the groceries today better than anybody who's ever existed'." Jacob said that narcissistic thoughts must be pervasive and ego-based, meaning there's no self-judgment involved. ‌ True narcissists don't feel the need to hide their thoughts or feel guilty about them, as they believe their behaviour is justified, he says. Jacob continued: "Like me, for example. I know that these thoughts are abnormal, but I don't have any cognitive dissonance regarding them. I'm not like, 'Oh, man, I can't believe I thought this narcissistic thought today'. No, I'm thinking, 'Everybody should think like this'." He added: "A genuine narcissist thinks it's okay and justified to be a narcissist." ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The content creator, who is better known online as The Nameless Narcissist, previously shared a clip with his hundreds of thousands of followers explaining there are three main signs which can indicate you don't have NPD. Jacob explained that he'd never met a narcissist who didn't 'do these things', but pointed out this is just his opinion. ‌ First, he explained that feeling 'genuine' emotions is a sign someone isn't a narcissist, as he finds himself 'faking' his, saying: "Narcissists don't have those normal emotional reactions, we have to emulate them half the time." Next is whether or not you believe every person on the planet has equal worth - as in his eyes, it's 'inconceivable that two people can have it inherently the same amount of worth.' Jacob said: "For me, there's always gonna be a better person and a person below." ‌ Lastly, if you love yourself, the diagnosed narcissist reckons you definitely haven't got NPD. "A lot of people think narcissists love themselves," Jacob said of the common perception around NPD. "No, we think we're better than everybody else. "We might love how we look. We might love our intelligence. But my internal monologue is a constant stream of 'You're so stupid. Why did you do that? You're better than all these other people. How could you be so stupid?' ‌ 'There is no self love. There is no self compassion there. It's just grandiosity."
