A WOMAN was left in hysterics when the "ornament" she bought on Temu arrived - and it wasn't quite what she was expecting.
Maisie-Ellen was delighted when she spotted what appeared to be a colourful elephant, which she said would look perfect in her bright and cheerful lounge.

So she hit buy, and eagerly awaited its arrival.
But when her order arrived, she couldn't believe what she found upon opening the box.
In a TikTok video, she showed the picture of the elephant on Temu, as she said she wanted a "multicoloured elephant to match my multicoloured front room".
She then held up what had actually come in the order - a wooden cut out of said elephant.

"No seriously, that is my elephant!" Maisie-Ellen sighed.
"It's flat, it's not even 3D!
"Well it is 3D kind of but that's not a statue!"
Things went from bad to worse as she pulled out a rug that she'd ordered, also to go in the lounge.

"It looks all thick and nice and colorful and pretty and whatever else," she said.
But when she put it on her floor, she realised it was as thin as a "sheet of paper".

"It's the thinnest, flimsiest, crappiest..." she laughed.
Maisie-Ellen said another issue was that the rug didn't have any green it it.

"The listing that I bought had like loads of green in it because obviously the living room is green!" she said.
"Where's the green?"
She'd also ordered inserts for some sofa cushions, which were paper thin, and concluded by showing the colourful pampas grass she'd picked up from the site as well.
"It looked f**king sick on the pictures," Maisie-Ellen said.

Why is Temu so cheap?
TEMU exploded onto the scene in late 2022, with people all over social media raving about the low prices.
The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace - essentially an online shopping app where people are connected to the retailer directly while the app takes care of the shipping element.
The frenzy over the app is not completely unfounded either as it offers a wide variety of products, including fashion, make-up, electronics and furniture.
According to a report from the US House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu takes advantage of a trade loophole that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the US.
The loophole is called the de minimis exception and it means they can ship goods valued up to $800 (£643) to the US without it being inspected or taxed by US customs.
Temu connects customers directly to manufacturers and only manages how the items are sent to customers.
It means Chinese vendors can essentially sell their products directly to customers and ship it without building a network of warehouses across the globe.
By doing this, they cut down on huge costs and ensure the product itself isn't marked up extra.
While many of the products seen on the Temu app are from brands with extensive, original collections, many more are dupes of designer brands.

ABC Australia covered the story, noting that Perth barrister Seamus Rafferty SC is representing the entertainer. Rafferty commented on the denied bail, stating: "This has already made headlines. Given the nature of social media, the nature of people jumping on bandwagons, given the nature of (the) power imbalance between the parties." A TikTok video from Perth's Bar1 Nightclub went viral last year, showcasing Filly – who has appeared in Channel 4's The Great Celebrity Bake Off – performing at the venue. First thing to note from my experience with this tan remover, which I've used twice now, is that I didn't notice any overly strong scent during or after use. This probably isn't a huge downside for everyone, and I will admit I have a terrible sense of smell, so it could just be my nose. NPD is a mental health condition that gives an increased sense of self-importance, a deep need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. Skidmore, who is known as The Nameless Narcissist online, says he didn't tell people about his diagnosis for years. "Whenever I attempt to be vulnerable with my friends, it's like the shame catches the words in my throat and I psychically can't say it," he told LADBible. In a video uploaded to his TikTok page, Jacob said: "A lot of people will be like, 'Oh, I have those thoughts too sometimes. Does that mean I'm a narcissist?' And the answer is probably no, and it's not because necessarily that, 'Oh, if somebody considers they're a narcissist, that means that they're not a narcissist'. "I mean, obviously I've considered it, been considering it for a while, been diagnosed with it." The 'real reason why you probably aren't a narcissist' he says is because these thoughts have to apply 'to literally everything in your life'. "Not just 'Oh, man, I got a promotion at work, so I'm feeling a little grandiose and thinking a little narcissistically'," Jacob added. "No, it's, 'Oh, I took in the groceries today better than anybody who's ever existed'." Jacob said that narcissistic thoughts must be pervasive and ego-based, meaning there's no self-judgment involved. True narcissists don't feel the need to hide their thoughts or feel guilty about them, as they believe their behaviour is justified, he says. Jacob continued: "Like me, for example. I know that these thoughts are abnormal, but I don't have any cognitive dissonance regarding them. I'm not like, 'Oh, man, I can't believe I thought this narcissistic thought today'. First, he explained that feeling 'genuine' emotions is a sign someone isn't a narcissist, as he finds himself 'faking' his, saying: "Narcissists don't have those normal emotional reactions, we have to emulate them half the time." Next is whether or not you believe every person on the planet has equal worth - as in his eyes, it's 'inconceivable that two people can have it inherently the same amount of worth.' Jacob said: "For me, there's always gonna be a better person and a person below." Lastly, if you love yourself, the diagnosed narcissist reckons you definitely haven't got NPD. "A lot of people think narcissists love themselves," Jacob said of the common perception around NPD. "No, we think we're better than everybody else. "We might love how we look. We might love our intelligence. But my internal monologue is a constant stream of 'You're so stupid. Why did you do that? You're better than all these other people. How could you be so stupid?' 'There is no self love. There is no self compassion there. It's just grandiosity."
