Turkish coach backs Real Madrid youngster to improve under Alonso: ‘Thrives on difficulties'
Xabi Alonso's arrival is set to change a lot at Real Madrid, the first being the hierarchy of players Carlo Ancelotti so stringently maintained at the club.
While the Italian tactician believed in trusting experience and big names come what may, the new coach is not one to reward fame but one to prioritise performance.

Younger stars and academy players who step up their game, thus, are expected to see their stocks rise under his tutelage and Arda Guler is one such player who hopes for a complete turnaround in his situation.
Turkish manager speaks
Speaking to the media in a recent interview, current Antalyaspor manager and former Turkish international Emre Belozoglu commented on Real Madrid's Guler, his situation at the club and how it was expected to improve under the new manager.
He began by praising the young talent's ceiling and ability to decide games by coming up clutch and providing sublime passes under pressure.

He then expressed his sincere hope and expectation that the new manager Xabi Alonso will give the Turkish talent more opportunities and a regular starting role which he struggled to earn under Carlo Ancelotti.
'With Xabi Alonso, we'll see a very different and more accomplished Arda Guler. He'll improve.'
Finally, Belozoglu was asked if Guler should consider a move away from Real Madrid, even on loan, given the tight competition for minutes in midfield. The manager, however, was convinced that the conditions were right for the starlet to bring his A-game to the table.
'I know his character. He thrives on difficulties and on overcoming them. He likes to surf the toughest waves.'

Real Madrid name price amid Arsenal's ‘genuine interest' in Blancos star
An insight into the kind of fee being demanded by the brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid to part with Rodrygo this summer has on Wednesday been provided. This comes amid fresh confirmation that Mikel Arteta's Arsenal remain keenly interested in the Brazilian's signature. As per a report from transfer insider Ben Jacobs: 'Arsenal hold a genuine interest in Rodrygo and have held exploratory talks on the player side dating back to May. Understand Real Madrid want around €90m.' Why isn't Kylian Mbappé playing in Real Madrid's Club World Cup opener
Why isn't Kylian Mbappé playing in Real Madrid's Club World Cup opener Among the few draws for the inaugural expanded Club World Cup in the U.S. has been the opportunity to see some of the game's biggest stars playing competitive matches. And while Real Madrid did indeed bring its top squad to the tournament, it will be without French superstar Kylian Mbappé for Wednesday's group match against Saudi side Al-Hilal at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium. In the lead-up to the match, Mbappé had been held out of training due to an illness and fever. Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso wanted to play it safe with the superstar (who had also recently played in the UEFA Nations League for France). Alonso did say that the club would wait to see how Mbappé felt on Wednesday and make a decision. When the lineups were released, though, Mbappé was left out of the squad entirely. After Wednesday's opener, Real Madrid will play again on Sunday against Pachuca. We'll have to see if Mbappé becomes available for that one.
