CRATE left me with one yellow box and one green box and just fifteen remaining words. I had the hardest time coming up with a second guess I liked, and eventually I just decided I'd go with NEEDY even though I didn't love the double 'E.' It worked out . . . okay. Not the best choice, to be sure. Now I had three green boxes, however, and the very first word I came up with was PETTY. I plugged it in and got lucky. PETTY for the win!
Today's Wordle Bot
I get 1 point for guessing in three and 1 point for Beating the Bot. The Bot gets 0 points for guessing in four and -1 for losing to me. Our new totals are:
Erik: 13 points
Wordle Bot: 7 points
The word petty comes from the Middle English pety, which was borrowed from Old French petit, meaning "small" or "little." Ultimately, it traces back to Vulgar Latin pitittus, also meaning "small." Originally used to describe something minor or insignificant, petty later took on negative connotations like 'trivial' or 'small-minded.'

Taylor Swift Net Worth May Change, ‘Experts' Explain Why & How
's net worth might potentially see a significant change after the singer gained ownership of her masters. Several experts exclusively spoke to Newsweek about how her recent masters buyback will prompt an increase in her current estimated $1.6 billion net worth. The pop star made her milestone achievement last month when she announced buying back the rights to the original recordings of her first six albums, six years after record executive Scooter Braun allegedly acquired them without her permission. Forbes declared Taylor Swift's billionaire status in October 2023, as the singer officially joined the outlet's billionaire list. With the singer having recently announced control of her catalog, experts now believe that this achievement will increase her net worth. Larry Miller, executive director of Sony Audio Institute for Music Business and Technology, told Newsweek that Swift's ownership of her six masters will improve her 'take-home pay.' The expert believed that now that the singer can license her original recordings for film and TV shows, it will only generate more revenue for her. Drew Nobile, professor of Music Theory at the University of Oregon, told Newsweek, 'Swift's music catalog generates over $100 million per year from streaming alone, and of course, that will increase now that Swift owns the rights to her earlier recordings as well.' The expert, however, also took into consideration the time the singer will take to recover her rumored $360 million that she paid Shamrock Capital for ownership rights. The vice president of Music Strategy at MIDiA Research, Tatiana Cirisano, also expressed how Swift's masters buyback opens up several 'revenue streams' for the singer. According to the expert, this will see an increase in her take-home income. Meanwhile, Nobile also shared a fandom perspective on the situation, stating that Swifties will now listen to the original versions, subsequently contributing to the recordings' value increase. Joe Bennett, a professor at Berklee College of Music, looked beyond net worth to include 'artistic legacy and control.' Music professor Jocelyn Neal also echoed the expert's sentiments, telling the outlet that Swift's catalog acquisition is more significant than just 'financial gain' as it includes 'moral victory' for her and her fans. According to the expert, this will have a long-lasting effect on her brand name. The post Taylor Swift Net Worth May Change, 'Experts' Explain Why & How appeared first on Reality Tea.

David Lynch's Director's Chair Tours Sites Linked To Legendary Auteur
David Lynch's personalised red leather director's chair has been touring Los Angeles ahead of a major auction of memorabilia from the late auteur filmmaker's life and career. The tour includes the Mulholland Drive sign and Winkie's Diner - both settings from Lynch's acclaimed 2001 film Mulholland Drive, as well as the corner of Hollywood and La Brea, the site of Lynch's infamous "FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION - LAURA DERN" protest celebrating the actress' performance in his 2006 film Inland Empire. Lynch's chair also stopped off at Lynch's favourite eatery - Bob's Big Boy diner - on Father's Day. The late director frequented the 1950s-style diner daily, often joined by collaborators such as Kyle MacLachlan and Dern. Following Lynch's death earlier this year, Bob's Big Boy became an impromptu memorial site, where fans gather to pay tribute, leaving flowers and mementos in his honour. The tour is organised by Julien's Auctions in partnership with Turner Classic Movies (TCM), will culminate in The David Lynch Collection, a live auction taking place on Wednesday 18 June 2025 at the Peninsula Beverly Hills and online at The director's chair, marked with Lynch's name and valued at $5,000 to $7,000 (£3,900-£5,500), is one of 450 items from his personal estate being auctioned. It will feature personal effects from his home, including film props, musical instruments, fine art, home furnishings, woodworking tools, and paint supplies from his private art studio - a testament to Lynch's multi-faceted career as filmmaker, musician, visual artist, designer, and writer.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex posts rare video of her children for Father's Day
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has posted a Father's Day video showing her husband, Prince Harry, playing with the couple's two children. The footage, posted on Instagram on Sunday, features a mixture of photos and videos, including one in which the duke is seen dancing with son Archie in his arms. Another clip shows Harry teaching Archie to ride a bike while daughter Lilibet runs behind them. The duchess captioned the post: 'The best. Happy Father's Day to our favorite guy 💕' The couple have been known to guard their children's privacy closely, but, while the children are only seen from behind in many of the clips and photos, others clearly show their faces. This is the latest sign of a change in approach from the family, as Meghan has recently made a series of posts featuring 6-year-old Archie and 4-year-old Lilibet. For example, on June 4, Lilibet's birthday, she shared rare photos of the little girl. In one black-and-white picture, Meghan can be seen cuddling Lilibet, whose face is partially visible behind her mother's hand and arm. A second image shows Meghan cradling Lilibet, whose face is visible in profile, shortly after her birth. A separate post features two photos of Prince Harry with his daughter, with the caption: 'The sweetest bond to watch unfold. Daddy's little girl and favorite adventurer.' The couple did release a Christmas card last year that featured a photo of both children, but their backs are to the camera as they run toward their parents. Five other images appeared on the card, taken throughout the year. It marked the first time since 2021 that Harry and Meghan released a Christmas card featuring their children.
