Make no mistake about it, the Washington Commanders in 2025 have their eyes firmly on the Lombardi trophy.

After a 2024 season that saw Jayden Daniels lead the team to a 12-5 record and an NFC Championship appearance in his rookie year, the Commanders' front office pushed all of their chips into the middle of the table.
Two trades - Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil were done, to bolster two key positions for Daniels, who will now be the center of attention, to try and not only reach, but win the Super Bowl.
A Pro Bowl left tackle and an All-Pro receiver for Pro Football Focus give fans all the optimism in the world that this might be their year.
"Daniels playing like an elite quarterback so early in his career has allowed the Commanders to build around him and contend for a championship," Pro Football Focus writes. "This offseason, they added left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who should shore up an offensive line that ranked 22nd in PFF pass-blocking grade last season. They also acquired Deebo Samuel, who posted a solid 72.1 PFF receiving grade in 2024.

"Rookies Josh Conerly Jr., Jaylin Lane and Jacory Croskey-Merritt should also help the cause as Daniels leads his team into the future."

If Samuel and Tunsil play to the levels we have become accustomed to, Daniels continues to ascend, along with the generic improvement from the rest of the roster, there is every chance that 2025 will be rather fruitful for Dan Quinn's team.
Granted, in a division that houses the defending Super Bowl champs and a resurgent Dallas Cowboys, the Commanders aren't going to have it all their way.
A slight regression from a 12-5 season for most is coming, but with their additions, optimism is high that in 2025, Daniels and the Commanders can go one step further than they did last season.

Lane Johnson feels he's "getting close" to his peak as a player
The offensive line has been a big part of the Eagles' success in recent years and they have four starters back from last season as they try to defend their Super Bowl title. Right tackle Lane Johnson is the most experienced member of that group and he's set to be the oldest starting tackle in the league at 35. Some players are slowing down at that age, but Johnson feels like he's moving in the other direction. Advertisement Johnson dealt with ankle injuries for several years and said last week that he feels better now than he did when he was 29 or 30. That's left him feeling like he still has new heights to reach as a player. "I feel like I'm getting close to maybe my peak," Johnson said, via Reuben Frank of "As weird as it is to say, but that's truly how I feel. Maybe they need to do a Combine for guys 10 years [in the league], see how we do compared to 10 years ago.' The Eagles would gladly sign up for more of the same from Johnson in 2025. If they get an even better player, the offense is going to be a difficult one to stop come the start of the regular season.
