A teenager has been arrested after a five-year-old boy was struck and seriously injured by an electric dirt bike, police have said.The rider did not stop after the collision, which happened at 15:20 BST on Tuesday outside Mill View School in Upton, Chester, while the boy was walking with his dad.After presenting himself at Blacon Police Station, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop following a collision, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.Cheshire Police said the boy, from Blacon, remained in custody.
Det Insp Ross Hamilton said: "As part of our investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any video footage that may aid the investigation.The injured boy was taken to the Countess of Chester hospital.

A man has been charged with driving offences following a crash in Leicester involving a car and e-bike. A man and a woman have tragically been found dead at the bottom of a cliff at a seaside beauty spot. Police rushed to Whitby Abbey, in North Yorkshire, at 7.16pm on Wednesday after the bodies were spotted on the rocks beneath the cliff by a local. A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: 'Emergency service teams have been involved in the recovery of two bodies from beneath the cliff at Whitby Abbey on Wednesday evening. 'A member of the public called the police at 7.16pm after spotting a man and woman on the rocks below. 'With the tide coming in fast, the Coastguard coordinated a helicopter recovery to ambulance crews near Whitby Abbey. This was completed at 8.24pm. 'Paramedics confirmed the deaths, and the bodies have been taken to hospital by ambulance. 'Police are on with tracing the next of kin of the man and woman while the investigation continues into the circumstances of the sudden deaths for a coroner's report.' This is a breaking news story.
